“Excellent Townhouse accommodation”
Location excellent between the walled city and centre ville in the old town. Good quality two bed accomodation. Owners Jason and Inga very helpful
“Laid back sunshine with a historical twist”
24 Rue De La Gaffe gets five stars for its location and for the amazing accommodation to be found there. I couldn't have been happier having a townhouse as our base which is only a short stroll from La Cite, and a pleasant ten minute walk to Carcassonne's bustling centre full of shops and restaurants. But let's face it La Cite is the big draw and we couldn't be getter placed, just under the walls and towers of this amazing site. The accommodation is on three floors with an open plan kitchen, living room and dining area on the ground floor complete with all mod cons, then two decent sized bedrooms on the next level with a bathroom each and on the top floor a spacious sun terrace, perfect for wine, cheese and cold meats from the market, especially once our baby was in bed. Jason couldn't have been more accommodating making the house child friendly for us and this made things very relaxing indeed. You couldn't ask for a better place to enjoy the benefits of Carcassonne. Please don't miss out on the petit train from the town up to La Cite. Great fun and shows you some of the town that you may not see otherwise. In La Cite look out for the adelaide restaurant which is top. Oh and from the house, turn right and at the end of the street look out for a wine merchant who sells delicious reds at a very reasonable price. We loved the accommodation, loved the location and loved Carcassonne. Bet we will be back again soon, especially as flying from Scotland is so easy. Thanks Jason!
“Perfect package at a great price!”
Fantastic little retreat with everything you could possibly need in a self catered accommodation The house is simply but stylishly furnished with a great fitted kitchen. The added bonus for us was having a bathroom with each of the bedrooms. We managed to make use of the lovely little roof terrace for tea one afternoon, despite the very cool weather! Jason was really very accommodating with our booking - we had to change the reservation twice, once at short notice - couldn't have been more helpful!
“Great house, great location”
My family, including two young children recently stayed for two weeks in this house. We had a fantastic time. We made all the arrangements over the internet and Jason always responded promptly and he was really helpful, both before and during our stay. The house is over three levels, with the top level being a fantastic roof terrace, great for lunch, even in winter. The house is well laid out and has a well equipped kitchen, laundry, and two bathrooms. The location is terrific because it is about 5 minutes walk up to the castle and about 10 minutes walk to the main city. Carcassonne has a great mix of shops and a good food market. We stayed over Xmas and enjoyed the kids fairgrounds and the iceskating rink in Place Carnot. We really enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to returning.
“October 1/2 term break”
The house is very central and well located for most amenities but far enough away from the centre to be quiet. Although it was October most of the evenings were quite warm which meant we could enjoy a beer or glass of wine on the upstairs terrace - we had breakfast there (croissants and apple pastries from the local patisseries) every day. The proximity to the cite is xecellent and we were quite amused to find an orientiering race in the cite on Halloween, with huge numbers of teams involved. There is a good choice of reasonably priced (if you can still have reasonable prices at todays Euro rate) restaurants both in the cite and in the town. We had some excellent canard cassoulet in the open air restaurants in the cite knowing it was only a short walk back home. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday in great accommodation in an excellent location.
We had a most enjoyable stay at the house it had everything one needed and was within walking distance of all attractions the weather was good and it was nice to have a glass of wine on the roof terrace in the evening after a days sight seeing. E.Power
“A Holiday To Remember”
I received excellent service, including support with airport transfer and food shopping on arrival, this was very helpful. The view from the apartment was spectacular and breathtaking. The apartment itself was of a very high standard, very clean and comfortable too. It is within walking distance of a lovely restaurant around the corner and the Cite. I would highly recommend a stay within this apartment.
Location is good a short walk from the Cite. The balcony area was very relaxing particurly in the sun. Facilities, space and cleanliness were all good. Only issue was that the cost of the linen was deducted from our deposit despite leaving the cash in living area.
Response from the owner Unfortunately, Neil hadn't previously mentioned about the linen charge being deducted or it would have been refunded immediately. As soon as we read Neil's review we contacted him immediately, apologised for our mistake & have refunded him. We no longer make a separate charge for linen hire, it is included in our prices as is all utility bills, heating & local taxes.
“Comfortable accommodation close to medieval cite”
Well appointed modernised property very close to all amenities and historic sites. Short walk into the town. The house was comfortable and warm, with a lovely roof terrace, well used by us, even in November.
“Rue de Gaffe”
Lovely comfortable house in superb location. Very high standard of equipment.
