“A lush, peaceful, magical setting at a great value”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2012

All of the wonderful comments about this place are true and the place is actually better than the pictures. We spent a glorious week in the Hibiscus Hideaway apartment and cooked most of our meals on premises. We really enjoyed the salt water pool, the meditation hut and looked forward to watching the birds on the lawn at breakfast time. The location is very convenient as Haiku town is a 5 min drive and has many good cafes and a very reasonable grocery market with a great selection of local stuff.

“wonderful family vacation”

Reviewed 19 Jun 2012

my family came to visit me in Maui, and we rented the studio and cottage. The property is beautiful and kid-friendly. There are plenty of great hiking and North Shore beaches nearby, and we loved coming back in the evening to watch the gorgeous sunset over the ocean-view. During the day we would relax by the pool and hang out on our private lanai. Anjali was a very gracious host, and often brought us fresh fruit from her gardens. It was a really wonderful experience, and I hope to stay there again!

“Relaxing...Rejuvenating...great value for the”

I visited Maui some 5 years ago and stayed at a hotel on the southern coast. This time, I did considerable research on the Tripadvisor/flipkey sites and decided to stay at this vacation rental with my partner for two weeks last month. After almost 24 hour of flying time from northern England, it was most refreshing to drive late evening through coconut trees and fragrant breeze straight into our cottage. The beds were ready with crisp linen and there were no checking-in formalities. An undisturbed and quite night was what we wanted and that is exactly what we got. The morning after, we woke up to the full glory of nature in a paradise setting. We took a round of the impeccably maintained property with verdant lawns and tropical fruit trees. The manager, Regina, is quite a sweet lady and it was wonderful for her to bring some bananas and papayas straight from trees onto our table. We were told that they don't use any chemical pesticides there and the natural sun-ripened fruits were indeed a treat. There was a family staying in another cottage and their children were having whale of a time in the blue-bottomed swimming pool. Twilight periods were remarkable for a myriad of sky lights and colours. During our stay, there were rainbows on most of the days (even though there were no persistent rains) and we were lucky once to see a full 360 degree circle of a rainbow, albeit for a brief period only. The extraordinary feature of this property is the romantic quiteness and tranquility. Its ambience makes it special. Nobody including property manager disturbs you and you in turn learn not to disturb others. And yet it is not some isolated cottage -- high-speed internet, tv, washing machine are all there and the shopping market is not far. Although the property is advertised as vacation rental, it is as good as a resort on the coast and at a fraction of their cost. I would recommend it highly and am already planning to come back in a year or two.

“If going to Maui- You have to stay here.”

This was a great place to stay. Friendly and helpful staff. The pool was as beautiful as the view of the ocean. It was a perfect place to stay either with kids or just your spouse.

“Beautiful views, great price and a home away from home”

Gentle trade winds, warm sun, stunning ocean and tropical views, scent of Plumeria flowers in the air...this is what what we experienced while sitting on our patio at the Whispering Bamboo cottage. The unique artwork on the walls was appreciated everyday by our 14 and 11 year olds. We used the BBQ many times at night while watching the night sky full of stars. We took walks almost everyday watching the sun come up and swam in the salt water pool after coming back from exploring the island. This property is centrally located and very close to many interesting cafes and eateries in Haiku and Paia. What a better alternative than a hotel and so much less expensive.

“Most relaxed I've felt in years!”

Reviewed 10 Jun 2011

My family and I stayed in the Whispering Bamboo Cottage and absolutely loved it! We wanted to go on a family trip while the kids were on spring break and finding a good deal was very important to us, so we were very lucky to find this hidden gem. The kids had a great time swimming in the salt water pool so my husband and I were able to sneak away on nice long walks around the property. Were already planning our next trip back to Haiku!

Maui Ocean Breezes was the perfect get-away! The location is very nice and easy to get to. our hosts were available to speak to or to help us with the small things we needed, which is always nice. the pool and the living room over look the ocean and the view was amazing and stunning. the windows all looked out over the ocean!!! we came away feeling relaxed and refreshed!

“This beautiful ocean view rental is full of aloha.”

Look no further. This is the spot. This beautiful ocean view rental has several options and can accommodate anyone. Whether you are looking for a house, bachelor or beautiful one bedroom suite with kitchen, Maui Breezes has it. The property is incredible, complete with yoga studio and swimming pool. The caretaker is friendly and will answer all your questions. Close to Paia, a ten minute drive will bring you into town where there are many delicious restaurants including the famous Mama's Fish House. We first came with our son for a family vacation and then returned again for an anniversary getaway. We would definitely return again. The price is right. The rental is clean and well furnished aswell as uniquely decorated. We recommend this place to our friends and family. Mahalo, Maui Breezes.

“Rejuvenating and peaceful paradise”

Reviewed 10 May 2011

We had been to Maui several times before and stayed near or on the beaches. Our decision to get away from crowds and pseudo resort scene this time to a more affordable , peaceful and authentic experience turned out to good. The Whispering Bamboo cottage is ideally situated over the edge of a gulch nestled in nature with stunning ocean views. After sightseeing each day, we could not wait to get back home and BBQ our dinner outside while gazing at the stars while experiencing the gentle trade winds on our back which also keep the mosquitos away. Our two weeks there went by very quickly. There are so many yet undiscovered scenic byways in upcountry Maui along with local resaturants with great food and music just 5 minutes away in Haiku town. Paia twon has more of the same and is 15 min away. The Hookipa beach park just 7 min away is a great spot to sit with coffee and scones and watch the wind and kite surfers while the Baldwin beach park is good for long walks. The tropical flowers, citrus fruits, pineapple and sugarcane fields all around gave our nostrils a treat to remember.
