“Two Glorious Weeks!”

Reviewed 18 May 2014

My husband and I spent two glorious weeks at Casa Serena and we were swept off our feet. Nancy, the owner, could not have been more helpful and concerned about our stay before we actually arrived and during our stay. We were supplied with a most comprehensive guide to Rincon and surrounding environs. Detailing everything from sightseeing, restaurants and grocery shopping. Additionally, a map of Rincon was provided and we felt we knew where we were going and what we wanted to do during our stay. Nancy was thoughtful enough to e-mail us after we arrived to make sure we did arrive safely. The house and its location on the beach went beyond our expectations! The kitchen was extremely well-equipped and unlike a few places we have stayed, the knives actually cut. There was a good supply of starter goods in both the kitchen and bathrooms. The mattress in the master bedroom is so comfortable and was a treat to retreat to every night! The living area outside the home is fantastic. There are more than enough chairs, lounges and hammocks to keep everyone in or out of the sun. Additionally, a wide variety of tubes, boogie boards, floats, masks, fins and snorkels ensured plenty of enjoyment. A wonderful touch was a cooler which we put to great use during our beach trips and long drives. The mango tree in the yard provided us with more than enough fruit for several mango smoothies. The beach is glorious and the relaxing sound of the ocean waves was wonderful. A suggestion for future visitors would be to add a pair of water shoes to their luggage. There are some flat rock formations that may hinder folks who may not be sure footed. We truly hope to return to Casa Serena in the near future and enjoy all the wonderful things that Casa Serena and Puerto Rico have to offer! Frank and Alice Aurilio

Response from the owner Dear Alice and Frank, It was such a pleasure having you as our guests. As you know, your enjoyment gave me great satisfaction. Thanks for choosing Casa Serena for your vacation. I look forward to having you come back again soon. Be well, Nancy

“A relaxing way to experience Puerto Rico”

Reviewed 9 May 2014

This was our first trip to Puerto Rico and when I found this house online and spoke with the owner I knew we were set. Lovely setting. The sound of the surf, the beautiful beach, the walk to the nearby hotel for an afternoon pina colada - all made for a perfect week. Excellent service by Nancy and Gladys. Wifi worked great. We hope to return and see more of the island because we, happily, couldn't tear ourselves away from this setting. My husband, daughter and I send you our thanks!

Response from the owner Dear Jan, Thanks for your lovely comments and for enjoying your vacation at Casa Serena. We were very happy to have you as our guests and hope to welcome you back again soon. thanks, Nancy Renee

“The best vacation ever!”

Reviewed 22 Apr 2014

This house was so great because it was so beautiful and comfortable to stay in, but mainly because of its amazing location on the beach!! We woke up to waves gently splashing on the shore and to the most beautiful sunsets on the front porch. I want to say that the owner of the house was extremely accommodating by making sure that we had everything we needed during our stay. I would love to go back there. I miss it already.

Response from the owner Dear Susan, It was our pleasure having you and your friends stay at Casa Serena. Our view of the beach and the sunsets is so fantastic! We will welcome you back anytime. Nancy Renee

“It doesn't get better than this...”

Reviewed 9 Mar 2014

My wife an I have lived on and vacationed on beaches around the world, including Hawaii and the South Pacific. We have spent a week at Casa Serena for the past 4 years. If you want a comfortable home (not fancy) with everything you need to enjoy a week (or more) just steps from a beautiful beach; if you want a local environment without high rise hotels and condos; if you want personal and prompt attention from local property managers; if you want true R&R;&R; (Rest & Relaxation & Rejuvenation) just doesn't get any better than this.

Response from the owner Dear Steve and Lu, We are always very happy to welcome you back to Casa Serena. Thanks for enjoying our home and for your appreciation of our attention to your comfort. We look forward to seeing you again next year. Have a good year, Nancy Renee

“Very relaxing”

Reviewed 4 Mar 2014

Nothing beats the 6:30 pm sunset view of this house. You have an unimpeded view of the sunset right in your backyard! The house was very comfortable. The aC worked great in both bedrooms. We didnt need the aC in the main part of the house with the great breeze. There are blow dryers in each bathroom (so dont pack any). The outdoor chairs are very comfortable, I believe we all fell asleep in them at some point. We watched dolphins play and swim from our back yard and watched whales at the Rincon lighthouse. Groceries were very reasonable and close as well as several restaurants. Walking distance, via the beach, to a great bar and restaurant at a local hotel. Safe area, we took morning walks everyday. Definitely recommend!

Response from the owner Dear Karen, Thanks very much for choosing our home for your vacation and for your appreciation of our great house, beach, location and beautiful sunsets. We hope to welcome you back again for another relaxing vacation. Have a good rest of winter! Nancy Renee

“Total relaxation”

This is our fourth year renting this great property. Looking forward to this trip Is truly what helps us get through our long winters. The location is perfect. The quiet beach is beautiful, as is the water. The house is very convenient to grocery shopping and restaurants. The local people are very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The house is very comfortable and we really try not to leave the property. We most often eat in because it is so beautiful that we hate to miss a sunset and the house is equipped with anything you need to make staying in a comfortable experience. Nancy pays attention to her property and everything is always in good condition. She is accessible if needed but we have never had a concern while staying in one of her units. We love this location, we love Rincon and can not wait to return next year.

Response from the owner Dear Bob and Joyce, Thanks for the great review. We always look forward to your visit and are have already reserved your dates for next year. Have a great year till you come back to Casa Serena. Nancy Renee

“It's our 20th year”

Reviewed 13 Jan 2014

I was a bit surprised to read the negative review of Casa Serena because we stayed there last year and are next door this year at Casa Tamara for three weeks. We love this place and have returned for 20 years. I have barely ever experienced rocks on the beach although it's true that there are rocks in the water. We swim in front of the house most of the time or occasionally walk a short way down the beach to a totally sandy area. Our children and grandchildren have never had a problem negotiating the waterfront. Because it's a local community there are times that there are dogs barking or sound trucks going by but we have always enjoyed that fact that we are staying in a Puerto Rican community with people who are warm and welcoming. We have never experienced theft or aggression of any sort and we were shocked by this one violent crime that occurred and very relieved that the perpetrator was captured. We have been to many islands and always decide to come back for our long vacation to Casa Tamara or Casa Serena (when we don't need the larger house). Having a beautiful, well equipped, well managed house directly on a beautiful beach with magnificent sunsets gives us endless pleasure. Nancy Renee, the owner, and Gladys and Hector Valentin are incredibly responsive to requests and we are grateful for all their attention. If they could silence the occasional dog or cat, I am sure they would.

Response from the owner Dear Vivian and David, Thanks for responding to he previous review with your 20 years of experience at Casa Serena and Casa Tamara. We are always so happy to welcome you back every year to enjoy our houses with your family. Enjoy the next 3 weeks ! Thanks, Nancy Renee

“Casa Serena is lovely. A home away from home.”

Reviewed 15 Oct 2013

I loved every minute spent at Casa Serena. Nancy and Gladys do everything they can to ensure a pleasant stay and are extremely accomodating. Right before our trip, I received an information package from Nancy with maps, a Casa Serena "guide" and recommendations. It was a really nice touch and got us all excited for our trip. The condo was very clean and offered all that one could need-- even down to tubes/floats/kickboards for the ocean. It really was like living in a home away from home-- everything is there. At one point, although it was not a big deal at all, I realized the electic juicer wasn't working. I mentioned it in passing to Nancy when she called to check in and, later that afternoon, Gladys delivered a brand new juicer. I just felt that was above and beyond-- totally unexpected, yet completely appreciated. I am very picky about mattresses (which is something I always worry about when I travel) and I slept in comfort. I highly recommend Casa Serena for families as there is a full kitchen and bbq (and the grocery store is just down the street). The beach directly behind the condo is absolutely beautiful and relaxing. I look forward to going back in the near future and kicking back in the hammock overlooking the beach.

Response from the owner Dear Happy Traveler, Thanks very much for your great review. It makes us very happy to know that our guests appreciate our efforts to make them comfortable and happy. Please come back again soon. Have a great winter, Nancy Renee

“Absolutely awesome!!!”

Reviewed 6 Sep 2013

My husband surprised me to the Casa Serena for our one year anniversary. Being that my mother is from Caugas, he thought it would be a great place as well as special since I have never been to the Island. The house and beach are exactly as advertised.I actually scuba dived for the first time ever!! It was amazing!! I was scared to death, but my husband is certified and our guide made me very comfortable. The aTV ride was the most fun day we had--Eaton, our guide,he was incredible and we had a blast going all over the beach, fields, and woods. The sites that we saw were amazing. My hundreds of pictures prove that :) We love the location of the house and felt that Rincon is beautiful, laid-back and enjoyed living like the locals vs. at a resort. Th entire island is absolutely gorgeous. We rented a car and traveled the entire island. Stopping in Caguas to take pictures of the gorgeous home my mother grew up in! We enjoyed the shops, Banana Dangs and the many delicious restaurants nearby (Lucky 13 Bar and Grill-best ribs ever, Lazy Parrot, there was a German Pub Das alpen Café" that had excellent food). The food stands on the side of the road, the Pinchos, were to die for! The hotel with the bar 'Villa Cofresi"--walking distance from the beach of Casa Serena was yummy in every way...and Edwards Supermarket is just up the street and had everything we needed. We actually ran into a few guys from Wilmington, NC that were working at a few of the resturants--they were living there due to the surfing in Rincon!! Casa Serena had everything we needed. Gladys did stop by but we were always on the go and missed her each time--a shame, we were excited to be able to meet her. The owner,Nancy, she was exceptional to work with and checked in on us a few times. Very thoughtful and informative. The roosters--what laughs we had in the morning, especially the first morning, but you get used to it quick.I loved everything about this place!! We hope to be back again and again.

Response from the owner Dear Janell, I am so glad that you were able to see Puerto Rico for the first time from Casa Serena and all the great things in Rincon as well as the rest of the Island. That was such a thoughtful anniversary present for Steve to surprise you with. May you have many more happy years together with many return trips to Casa Serena. Have a good year, Nancy

This house was exactly what I needed. My elderly parents were very comfortable and felt very much at home. As I took my morning walks on the beach, I saw we had the perfect spot. It was away from everything but close enough to everything we needed. The food in the vending carts were very tasty and inexpensive, just minutes away from the house. The directions to the house were accurate which made it so easy to find. The patio, hammock and the way the chairs were set were perfect. The house was clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. I will definitely return.

Response from the owner Dear Misses G, I am so glad you enjoyed your vacation at Casa Serena, our beach and our terrific location. We enjoyed having you and hope you return soon. Nancy Renee
