“Everything met my expectations as a seasoned traveller in Mexico”

Reviewed 14 Jan 2014

Stephanie, the owner ,greeted me on arrival. The room was small but clean and tastfully decorated. I enjoyed the close proximity to the malecon but not too close that the noise at night would be bothersome. Only drawback was that the best beaches were a cab ride away which really wasn't much of a concern.

“Convenient, Central and Cozy”

Casa Republica was a wonderful experience in living like a local. The #4 unit though a little more money was comfortable and clean. We stayed there 2 weeks and enjoyed the location and ease to the Malecon and the sunsets. The only criticisms are the unit could use some tv trays and the tv was a bit small. We really enjoyed it and will do it again.

“I Love Casa Republica!!!”

Reviewed 11 Dec 2013

I had the opportunity it stay at Casa Republica this November. I absolutely fell in love with it!! It's the perfect place to settle into the laid back rhythm of La Paz. It's clean, quiet and cute; the mural inside the gate is welcoming and depicts the beautiful sea life you'll find all around La Paz. Casa Republica is perfectly located one block from the beach and the Malecon where you can have a once in a lifetime experience swimming with the docile whale sharks or go to Espiritu Santo for wonderful snorkeling and swim with sea lions. You'll find everything from fine restaurants, grocery stores and fish taco stands within a few block radius of Casa Republica; I couldn't ask for a better location, I always felt safe and comfortable no matter what time of day or night. I can't wait to return to La Paz and Casa Republica!!!

“a nice clean place just one block off the malecon at the nicer,”

Reviewed 23 Jul 2013

enjoyed my stay very much at this 4 unit building just off the malecon, on the "beaches" side of old town la paz. my two-room unit was very clean on arrival. very functional because each room has separate a/c, so i was able to not waste energy in the room i wasn't using. that's important to me. no need for a car here; several blocks to a great market that has everything, and even fewer blocks to many restaurants that cover the spectrum from uruguayan beef to la paz red snapper. just six blocks to the bus terminal where you take the "beaches" bus out to balandra bay (the best) or tecolote beach (the biggest). the "peoples" beach, coromuel, is just at the end of the malecon, an easy walk from la casa republica. this is a beautiful and very well developed beach for locals and tourists alike, with calm, shallow water and lots of thatched palapas for necessary shade. the apartment manager, monica, is fully bi-lingual, and seems to have lots of experience with short-term rentals in la paz. with the help of her husband, servando, a man who knows maintenance, monica makes sure things function well from the start, and continue to do so. btw, monica and servando are very nice people. this is a good place to stay. much bigger than a hotel room (twice as big). and much cheaper as well. to stay elsewhere in la paz doesn't make much sense to me.

“surprise”

I was lucky because I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who gave me all the necessary information about La Paz. The area where the apartments are located is close to everything but away from the crowds. The apartments are equipped with all the comforts from air conditioning to microwave and outside the washing machine and barbecue with a table that allows you to eat outside and feel the wind in the evening. I had to stay only 3 weeks and at the end I was 40 days.Che say can not recommend it to anyone who needs to stay in La Paz for a week or more.

“Sweet place to hang a hat in La Paz!”

Reviewed 4 Jan 2013

Casa Republica is what one would hope to find in a city the size of La Paz. Easy to get to from the airport, bus station or by car. Centrally located so to speak for local bus service and or walking.Close to epic food of all sorts and local markets for shopping. The apartments are just the right size to feel at home in but not so big that keeping them tidy is a chore, sweet!Check them out if your goin to hang in La Paz.

“Good location for good restaurants off the main drag.”

clean but spartan, easy walking to most everything. A block from the Malecón.

Response from the owner As one of our guests stated - "Casa Republica has everything you need and nothing you don't" JF Nov 2011

“Pretty much perfect for our needs”

Reviewed 28 Oct 2012

Casa Republica was very much as advertized and we were not disappointed in any way- close to the Malecon as described. All amenities were included- great CDs and in the kitchen everything you could need. Being able to do laundry was a real plus. We do wonder why when all 4 apt's were available when we booked we were assigned the most expensive one?? If they are all similar, we could have used a cheaper one. For 2 tall adults the bed was small, as was the bathroom. Getting my security deposit back from paypal was a total pain- hasn't happened yet!- and I lost $ in the transaction which hardly seems fair- for one thing, I left the place cleaner than I found it- your cleaners are adequate but not more than that- hair clogging the sink, etc. These quibbles do not detract from a very positive experience over-all, and I thank her so much that the property manager showed up right on time as we waited in 105* heat! We'd stay here again ( but forget paypal )...

Response from the owner Thank you for your review - I have forwarded it on to our property managers so they will be more aware of the cleanliness of the apartment upon check in. The apartments are not all the same - The unit you stayed in is slightly larger an has the private patio and entrance. I went back and checked my records and it turns out that you booked the apartment online and you chose unit #4. I will be more aware of that in the future and double check with the guests to make sure they understand the price difference. Thanks again for staying with us Shawn and Stephanie

“This is relaxation!!!”

Casa Republica is a charming stay in downtown La Paz, located within a short walking distance to the beautiful Malecone walk along the bay... The weekly rate is a bargain for the experience we had. Romantic and private, i highly recommend for others who need that romantic getaway!
