“A Perfect Place!!”

Reviewed 27 Jan 2014

We spent four magical days in San Miguel de allende celebrating the New Year. Casa De Las Divas was the perfect place for us to be. The owner, Melissa, was there to greet us and to show us around the Casa and was always available if we had any questions. Melissa provided us with great information about restaurants we might want to try as well as useful tips such as where the nearest grocery store could be found. The Casa is charming! It is clean, quiet, and within walking distance of the main square. We highly recommend Casa de Las Divas as a place to stay in San Miguel and would love to return there again.

“Delightful Casita in San Miguel”

Reviewed 29 Mar 2013

The four days that we spent at Casa De Las Divas were the highlight of our two-week Mexican vacation. This casita is the perfect location to enjoy the charms of San Miguel - no need for a car. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated in character with the historic location, spotlessly clean and enhanced with special touches like a variety of delicious teas in the kitchen. We particularly admired the boveda ceilings in the upper casita bedrooms. The rooms were comfortably cool when the sun was hot, and the gas fireplace was a perfect touch for cool mornings. The rooftop terrace was wonderful for relaxing in the sunshine after walking tours. Although we did not have an opportunity to meet Melissa, we were well looked after and appreciated a welcoming bouquet of roses in the casita, as well as a copy of the local newspaper, complete with event listings in English. We could not have been happier with our choice of a San Miguel rental property!

“Loved Our Stay Casa de Las Divas”

Reviewed 2 Feb 2013

My husband, his parents and I stayed in this lovely home just before Christmas. It's in a perfect location... less than a 5-minute walk to get to the center of town. And if you bring a car, there is a parking lot nearby, but we were even able to find a spot on the street in front of the casa. The inside is cozy and comfortable with a nice fireplace in the living room. I loved staying in a house decorated with lots of color and touches of Mexico. And having a kitchen with all the dishes and supplies you'd need is super convenient. There is also a rooftop patio offering nice views of the city. For having 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, living room, rooftop patio, walking distance to town... it was an amazing value! Very affordable. We would definitely stay in Melissa's home again if we go back to San Miguel de allende. Also, we originally planned on having a 5th person with us and paid the extra ahead of time. That person ended up not being able to make it and Melissa refunded us that when she found out they didn't come, which we very much appreciated.

“Wonderful time in a great location!”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2012

The location of Casa de las Divas is perfect. An easy walk anywhere in the Centro and beyond. Very safe. The casita is set back from the street and is very quiet. The decor is lovely and comfortable, with a small and well equipped kitchen. Great access to internet, Vonage and Magic Jack phones, and cable tv. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The owner and her family are warm, welcoming and very helpful with great information about the area. Excellent shopping close by in the artisan and fresh markets; groceries, and other necessities. Many restaurants in easy walking distance. I have been coming to San Miguel for 14 years and would return again to Casa de las Divas. I recommend it highly!

“Happy! Now my primary place to stay in San Miguel...”

Reviewed 11 Jan 2012

This was my first visit to San Miguel and Casa de Las Divas was referred to me by some friends who highly recommend I stay there. I'm glad they did and it made for a memorable and enjoyable first visit to San Miguel and I will make Casa de Las Divas a primary location to stay for all my future visits. It's located in a great location and the rooftop patio offers a relaxing environment with a great city view. The property manager greeted me upon my arrival and ensured I understood how everything worked and how to communicate with them incase I needed anything. The accommodations are clean, nice and comfortable and offer a comfortable and relaxing stay.

“What a Fun Sisters Retreat!”

Reviewed 5 Dec 2011

My two sisters and I were met at the airport by our driver, Mario Hernandez. Mario, with a generous spirit and the heart of a gentleman, was the first treasure we discovered during our stay. He transported us, at our request, to other adventures during our stay, and those experiences were greatly enhanced by Mario's knowledge and his willingness to share all that he shared. We stayed in the upstairs apartment of Casa de Las Divas - two roomy bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room. We believe the showers have the very best water pressure in the world. The kitchen is well stocked with a stove, microwave oven, toaster oven, coffee pot, refrigerator, and everything that is needed to prepare and serve food. The casita was our comfortable retreat at the end of each day - a place of relaxation and renewal. A flat-screen television updated us on what was going on in the rest of the world. Lorena, the housekeeper, kept our casita tidy, our towels clean and dry, and our sheets fresh. Our favorite feature of Casa de Las Divas is Melissa, the owner. Melissa is lovely, tactful, helpful and genuinely nice. She truly cared that we enjoyed our stay and ensured that we had everything we needed. When she learned that one of her guests was ill during the first few days of our stay, she arranged for a very kind doctor to come to the casita to attend to her. When a dentist was needed to replace a lost filling, Melissa recommended a wonderful dentist who replaced the filling. When we left San Miguel de allende, we were already anticipating our return and looking forward to seeing Melissa again.

Response from the owner I had so much fun with the sisters, feel like they are new and wonderful friends and look forward to their return!!

“You couldn't ask for a better location.”

Reviewed 27 May 2011

My friend and I knew we wanted more a home feel, not a bed and breakfast or hotel. We wanted to be within walking distance of everything. We wanted all the conveniences of home--and we got it all. The owner and her staff are very friendly and helpful as well. I highly recommend Casa de las Divas and plan to make it my next stay in San Miguel.

“Four Thumbs Up”

Reviewed 9 May 2011

I am half a pair of reasonably active septuagenarians who had the pleasure of staying at Casa de Las Divas in april. A profusion of plants, brilliantly colored flowers, and little framed paintings lead the way to our lower casita and continued to the inside. Divas has purified drinking water as well as a complete kitchen with full-size refrigerator. There is a little private patio just off the dining area. Each of the two bedrooms has its own bath. Without being intrusive, owner Melissa, daughter Clair, and housekeeper Lorena made sure we were comfortable at all times. Divas is about a 15-minute walk from the center of town where, among other things, you will find the bank, post office, places to eat, and the Mercado de artesanias with its stalls of authentic but inexpensive jewelry and clothing. Melissa is very knowledgeable about San Miguel. When my friend and I wanted to find galleries away from the center of town, she suggested Fabrica La aurora, a former textile mill turned design and art center. Well worth visiting. One evening it rained and, not wanting to walk to town for dinner, we headed for the little store across the street for a feast of snack foods. Melissa met us and suggested a restaurant on the same street and telephoned to see if they accepted Visa. They did, and she left her umbrella for us to use. Bugambilia, the restaurant, is like an indoor garden. The food was delicious (try something unfamiliar), the service excellent, and the prices unexpectedly reasonable. A guitar trio performed that evening. I recommend Casa de Las Divas for its location, comfort, beauty, and attention to detail. Our vacation was all we wanted it to be.

“Central, comfortable, clean, accomodating.”

Reviewed 12 Apr 2011

We loved staying at Casa de las Divas, found the casita to be comfortable, clean, and the hostesses very accomodating. Next time we stay there we'll work with the people in the lower casita to keep conversation and movie volume low.

Response from the owner Great guests hope they return soon

“A cozy house in a great location.”

Reviewed 1 Oct 2010

Recently my wife and I stayed in the upper casita at La Casa de las Divas, and it was absolutely beautiful. The typical Mexican decor was charming and we felt at home. The location was just right, very close to the jardin and within walking distance of everything. We enjoyed breakfast and the view from the roof terrace. Melissa, the owner, was the perfect hostess who was available when you needed a recommendation for a good restaurant or information regarding San Miguel in general. We highly recommend it. I look forward to returning.
