“Great Vacation”

Reviewed 7 Mar 2014

We stayed at Casa Buena Vista Feb. 8-22. We had a wonderful time. Wolfang is a very good host. When we arrived at the villa there was fresh squeezed orange/pineapple juice in the refrigerator, fresh homemade bread and coconut cakes. The first morning he took us on a tour of San Pedro. He showed a places to eat and shop. This was very helpful when we ventured out on our own. Eldon (grounds keeper) and Mirta (housekeeper) were both very helpful. Eldon lined up a fishing trip for the guys, a morning of snorkeling and sunset sailing for all of us. He also got us 5 lbs of fresh lobster and grilled it for us! It was delicious!!! Mirta cleaned the villa 3 times while we were there, did our laundry and helped us find someone who came to the villa and did the massage right on the beach. Wolfgang has the best staff!!! When visiting San Pedro snorkeling at Hol Chan is a must!!! One of my favorite experiences while we were in San Pedro was sailing to Caye Caulker. Again Eldon lined us up with a day trip. We used the same boat we used to do the sunset cruise. It is called the Old School Sail Boat. It was so much fun sailing to another island, especially on a sailboat. George the owner is a lot of fun and provided us with free rum punches! He recommended a place to eat on Caye Caulker and let us spend as much time as we wanted on the island. The only disappointment we had was the beaches. Most of the island has a seawall and they have a lot of sea grass. We are all beach people and love to walk right into the ocean and swim. Otherwise the trip was great! The people are all very friendly and the food is exceptional. We always felt safe and that means a lot!!! I would recommend renting a golf cart so you can tour the island yourself. We als got to enjoy a swimming pool close to the villa. The villa is exactly like the pictures you see on the website.

“Fantastic Honeymoon”

Reviewed 5 Dec 2013

My wife and I spent 3 weeks with Wolf for our honeymoon. His property is one of the best on the island with waterfront and snorkeling options a few steps away. We were greeted by Wolf and his dogs, Cookie and Tiger, upon arriving and were treated to a morning tour of the city full of suggestions on where and where not to eat, drink and shop. The price for our stay was more than fair and Wolf and his team were incredibly accommodating. I absolutely recommend Casa Buena Vista to anyone looking for the perfect getaway vacation.

“Lovely guesthouse on the waterfront!”

Reviewed 2 Dec 2013

We had a lovely week staying in the 2 bedroom/2bath guesthouse! The personal service is a plus, with Mirta, the housekeeper, there a few days out of the week and Eldon, the groundskeeper, there most days to help with anything you can think of and who keeps the area pristine. Wolfgang is a pleasure, as well, and has lots of information about the town. The house itself is clean and comfortable, has an a/C unit in the master and a huge master bath! We didn't use the second bedroom as there were just the two of us. The kitchen has everything you need. We had all the comforts of home with two resident dogs, Cookie and Tiger, visiting. Cookie went on walks with us, kept us company on the beach and on rides in our golf cart and even crashed in our living room with us! ;) Tiger just as sweet. Mirta comes midweek for a thorough cleaning and will even do your laundry the same day. Wolfgang fetched us after arrival and took us on an extended tour through town on our way to the house, pointing out lots of businesses. He lives on the second floor of the guesthouse, so is almost always there for anything you need. We were terribly sad to leave, felt as if we were leaving our family by the end of our week! The house is on the more southerly end of the island, where it's quieter, with fewer businesses and traffic. Only drawback is having to travel the mile of rutted path to get to town for most entertainment, although there is a tiny grocery and couple of restaurants within walking distance. The only thing I felt I was missing in the house is a blanket on the bed! Yes, I know it's the tropics, but the a/C in the bedroom does get cool! We miss you already, Wolfgang, Mirta, Eldon, Cookie and Tiger!

“Beautiful Villa in fantastic location! "Therapy dog" on site,”

Reviewed 4 Jul 2013

We stayed at the villa with another couple in June. The Villa is fantastic in location to the Ho Chan Reserve. It is also very close to Suya Tours making excursions easy and convenient. A small store is within walking distance allowing for kitchen stocking. Snorkeling can be done right outside the villa. A young coral reef is coming up nicely there. Fishing is good in this area as well- bonefish, jacks. At night the stars in the sky are incredible. The 2 bedrooms with a/c units are comfortable. Well decorated. Wolfgang is an exceptional gracious host. He went above and beyond taking the group on an island tour, pointing out restaurants, things to do, and feeding us as well! His input was invaluable. Any questions/concerns we had he addressed promptly. The people working with him are lovely. In addition to all this, Wolfgang has a special canine ambassador, Cookie, who is a natural therapy dog. There is a 2nd dog, Tiger, who is great fun. If you love dogs, Wolf has 2 great ones ready to enjoy in Cookie and Tiger. These 2 characters added much pleasure to our stay. We really enjoyed the vibe at the villa- quiet, laid back with paradise at your feet. We recommend this place for sure! Thank you Wolfgang.

“Everything we wanted and more!”

Reviewed 24 Jun 2013

From the warm welcome from Eldin to the tour of the town from Wolfgang we knew we were in an exceptional place. Beautiful view, excellent apartment, close to the reef, great restaurants nearby, friendly residents, fishing and snorkeling galore! We loved every second we were there! We highly recommend it to everyone. And can't wait to get back.

“Best Vacation Ever!!”

Reviewed 25 Mar 2013

We spent 3 weeks at Villa Casa Buena Vista and loved every minute of it. It is located 2.5 miles south of town which gives you a very peaceful safe environment. Golf cart is a must if you want to take in everything San Pedro has to offer. Being ocean front is a perfect location for sunrises and abundance of sea life. Long beach walks to town were one of our favourite things to do. Enjoyed using the kayak which is available to guests. We used Suya tours for all of our tours and couldn't have had better service. They are just a walk down the beach to book all your tours. Eldon (grounds keeper) was always available to assist with anything we needed and Mirta kept things in order for us in the house. We will definitely have a return visit in the future and will recommend Villa Casa Buena Vista to our friends. We can't forget Cookie and Tiger who were always eager to come for a walk. 10 out of 10!!

“Great Vacation !”

Reviewed 25 Feb 2013

We recently got back from a week stay at Casa Buena Vista. What a wonderful place and location, not too close to town, but close enough. The beach and view were exceptional as were the accomodations. Wolfgang, Eldon and Mirta were very helpful with all of our requests and made good suggestions as well. Then there is Cookie of course, he was an excellent watch dog as well as fun entertainment. I would highly recommend Casa Buena Vista to anyone and hopefully we will be back soon.

We had an incredible time, Wolfgang and Eldon were wonderful. We miss Cookie and Black Paw! We are getting ready to book our next vacation and planning to bring our son for his 23rd birthday! So excited! Book with Wolfgang, you will be very happy you did!! See you soon Wolf!

“Excellent stay, will be going back next year”

Reviewed 29 Nov 2012

We stayed 10-24 to 11-02. I've been trying to get to the island for almost two years and I got to celebrate my 59th birthday with my 13 year old granddaughter, she had a blast. Eldon the grounds keeper, grilled me 2 lbs of lobster tails for my birthday dinner in coconut husk...excellent and only cost me $12.50. What you read from others about this property is right on so I will not write it all over again. Wolfgang is an excellent host and between him and Eldon will get you everything you need. Wolfgang will take you to town the first day and show you all the places to go or not to go. The property has everything you need, cable TV, kitchen items etc. Myrta the house keeper will even do your laundry for you which was a nice bonus. I took my dog Elvis with us and when we were out Eldon or Myrta would let him out and walk him on the beach, nice touch guys! Also there's a little store right by the property that you'll find just about everything you need like rum and coke! Overall a wonderful stay and I'm going back although this time with the love of my life (future wife) either in May or October.
