“Lovely dahab apartment”
We wanted an apartment so our children could sleep in a separate room to us while we ate and drank! The seaview villa meet all our expectations. Two good size bedrooms, large bathroom, living room and small kitchenette. But the terrace on its own is a wow! A huge space with covered eating area, high chair included, and sunbathing area with two loungers and space, lots of space. The apartment is simply decorated, the bathroom tiling standing out. Climbing up steps to the bath is quite an experience. The staff at the adjoining hotel are lovely and will do all they can to help. Leave key at reception for cleaning. Dahab main is a five to ten minute stroll left from the apartment steps and right along the front are lots of beaches, many empty, where for the price of an egyptian cuppa to two you can stay all day! (£1.50)! We have been spoilt for accomadation now and will always need the space provided by seaview. It was v relaxing being there. Hope to be back some time soon. Pros: space, privacy, comfort, helpful staff, good price for all you get Cons: dimly lit (two of my party are sight impaired but I would return!), only two hobs in kitchen, no oven but eating out in dahab can be v cheap and I didn't intend on cooking! Pool at hotel was freezing in December so no one used it.
Response from the owner Dear Katy, I'm so glad you had a lovely holiday and enjoyed Seaview villa and the terrace! I will speak to the manager about brighter lightbulbs - it shouldn't be dimly lit, apologies and hope this didn't spoil the holiday for your sight-impaired companions. Hope to see you all back in the villa, best wishes Sarah
“A Fabulous Villa - peaceful and private with stunning views”
A perfect place to relax and unwind, the villa met all our expectations. It is peaceful and very private. The view from teh terrace is stunning. We loved having breakfast and simple meals outside and also ate out in the huge variety of restaurants along the promenade. I would definitely recommend the villa to friends who prefer to experience authentic Egypt rather than an all-inclusive holiday at one of the larger 5* hotels. The hotel was in the middle of a staff changeover, but after the initial problems, which they sorted out, we were generally happy. Adel, the manager, looked after us very well. It was quite windy during our stay, so we were unable to snorkel just below the villa, but we had some fantastic snorkelling elsewhere. It is worth mentioning that, even when really windy, the raised sides of the villa's terrace provide fantastic shelter, so the wind wasn't really a problem when we wanted to sunbathe. We combined a trip to St Katherine's Monastery with a walk through the White Canyon (awesome!) following lunch in a Bedouin tent in the oasis; did a trip in a glass bottomed boat; and went snorkelling at the Three Pools and the Blue Hole. The Bedouin dinner was a bit of a disappointment (clearly ye olde imitation of the genuine thing!). We tended to book our activities through Dahab Safari Trips, who offered the most competitive prices (King Safari, Dyarna Safari and the Seaview Hotel were generally slightly more expensive). We shopped for food in the large Ghazala Supermarket (adjacent to the fish statue in the centre of Dahab, just past the police station from memory). Next to it is the fabulous Ralph's German bakery where we bought our croissants every morning. Another shop deserving a mention is the Baclava stall in the market - delicious! It is a wonderful villa which I would definitely recommend!
