“Quiet View Apartment in Central Rome + Great Hosts”
This apartment in Piazza Farnese is one of the best locations we have stayed in Rome. It is amazingly quiet for being in the middle of the action and steps from the lively Campo di Fiori, with its famous street market, cafes, bakery, butcher, gourmet shop and small supermarket. You can easily reach all Rome attractions by foot or taxi. Walter and Natalia are excellent hosts, always accessible and willing to be helpful. They provided a thorough review of the apartment's features and sightseeing tips. Since we had been to the main attractions on previous visits, they introduced us to a number of wonderful sights off the beaten path. Yes, there are five flights of stairs to the apartment, plus another to the rooftop terrace. But the trek pays off for the comfort, convenience and views. Plus the very reasonable rental rate takes the lack of lift into account. Another reviewer criticized the kitchen. I was able to prepare numerous meals with good pans, dishes and basic seasonings, etc. Also, the owners are committed to updating the kitchen in the foreseeabie future. One other possible improvement would be to install a tub/shower enclosure as the shower curtain makes it difficult to keep all of the shower water off the floor. Even absent such improvements, we would return and recommend the apartment to all without mobility issues.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Campo de Fiori. The location is superb, the apartment spacious, comfortable and clean. No surprises compared to the description and photos we viewed online. And our hosts were gracious, informative and helpful when we missed our connecting flight to Rome.
“great location, convenience and comfort”
The apartment is just as it appears in the photos which is quite nice. The living area is roomy and tastefully furnished. The bedroom is compact but very efficient. To have the use of the washer comes in very handy when traveling. The 70+ stairs that you have to climb to reach this top floor apartment might seem daunting, but the payoff is big. After a long day of exploring Rome you are rewarded with being able to relax on the pièce de résistance, the private roof deck that overlooks Piazza Farnese and includes a view of the dome of St. Peter's. Magnificent! Even though you are just around the corner from Campo de Fiori which is wonderful, the apartment is quiet and peaceful. Highly recommended.
“Awesome apartment, great view...right around the corner from Cam”
Loved our trip & before I talk about the apt., if you want some great tips to save time & money while in Rome visit this site, www.roninrome.com. You will gain a ton of great info! Also, get the Rome 3 day pass if you are going to at least 2 of the major sites/museums-it's 3 days of free transportion (does not include Vatican)& we got ours at a kiosk at the Colloseum. My husband and I couldn't have asked to stay at a better place. First of all, pay for the driver to and from the airport, it's well worth the peace of mind. Walter went over everything in the apartment & things to do in the city. We did 1/2 of them & were all great but mostly just lived like we were locals. The WiFi, A/C, washer, shower, all worked great. I didn't mind the small kitchen, had all that we needed to cook & had wine openers! I went to the market each morning (Campo di Fiori is literaly a walk around the corner). There are also many little grocery stores nearby for other items. The bedroom was comfortable and clean. The veranda is very spacious. Great view of St. Peter's Basilica, French Embassy & Piazza.Construction at end of our trip was too loud to sit up top but it was very hot and we walked for 8 hours a day so not really necessary but beautiful in the am&night;! Don't miss: (Restaurant) Il Forno right around the corner has amazing pizza & lemon ice (reasonably priced) Do not eat at PierLuigi, is way overpriced however their Cod app & Mozz stuffed zucchini flower was great! You can find great cappucino anywhere & there is a pastry shop on NW side of Campo that has a ham&cheese; pastry with thin crust on bottom & top..try it! Blue Ice Gelato has flavor called 'Cassata Siciliana' -must try! I miss it badly & will attempt to recreate it. Della Palma has over 150 gelato flavors & is right near the Pantheon (You have to pay for the gelato 1st then choose). Try Sambuca. Only try Grappa if you are tough! Finally, 73 steps to the apartment--great workout & worth the view!
“Wonderful Stay in Rome”
My husband and I recently spent ten days in this beautiful penthouse apartment. The experience could not have been better. We loved the location and could literally walk everywhere. Having a private terrace with a view or St. Peter's was more than we expected. The apartment itself is lovely and very quiet. Natalia and Walter arranged for our transfer from the airport and also sat with us to give us helpful information on places of interest that was an integral part making our visit special.
This apartment is great for a stay in the center of Rome. Walter and Natalia take good care of all your needs and will answer all your questions. They'll also throw in some great sight-seeing information that you might not find in your regular guide book. The apartment itself is great and the terrace alone is worth the price! Incredible views looking down onto Piazza Farnese. Would definitely like to stay again...and soon!
Perfect location.Center of historic Rome. Looking down on beautiful Piazza Farnese. Very quiet and cozy. Terrific terrace.Natalia and Walter were very very helpful and supportive.
