When you visit the Poinsettia House, you get to taste a bit of paradise. From the moment we walked into the cottage we felt the cool trade winds, heard the chatter of tropical birds, and witnessed the spectacular view of the bay with its stunning hues of turquoise, blues and greens. We knew we were in for a memorable vacation. The house is very well-equipped, the rooms are comfy and styled in "island chic"! We enjoyed watching the beautiful catamarans and sailboats entering the bay as we sat on the deck and "shared" our breakfast with the neighborhood birds. We marveled at the colorful hummingbirds as well. Luciana was SO welcoming. We enjoyed one of her home cooked meals after a day of snorkeling at Anse La Raye. Our taste buds danced with so many delicious flavors! We toured the island with Smalley as our guide. I would recommend the following during your stay: Lunch at the Dasheen Restaurant when you visit the Pitons, dining at the Rainforest Hideaway (order the chocolate torte for dessert: HEAVEN!), the Indian restaurant is very good and service is wonderful, also Capellos offers a variety of restaurants and 5-star service. Whether you're reading a good book on a lazy afternoon, sitting under a tiki hut on the beach or having an umbrella drink while soaking in the pool.... life is SO GOOD when you stay at the Poinsettia House. Thanks, Elaine!!

“Breathtaking Marigot Bay !!!”

Reviewed 6 Jul 2009

We have vacationed at Poinsettia House, Marigot Bay, St. Lucia numerous times (since 2002) & enjoy it so much that we will continue to do so. It has an open floor plan, spacious rooms & the most beautiful, breathtaking views of Marigot Bay. The staff is most accommodating & helpful. The locals are friendly with several restaurants in walking or water taxi distance, just minutes away. Nice beach withseveral water sports available including snorkeling & driving. We are already planning our next trip back to Poinsettia House!

“Loved that Patio View!!”

First, alittle about the location...Marigot Bay is the "gem" of St. Lucia. This picture perfect bay is loaded with history and charm. You walk or take a cable car through beautiful gardens and that million dollar view from the patio once you settle in make this home a true treasure! The home offers a smart "open plan" layout with two "master bedroom" suites, large dining and sitting area overlooking the bay. Ideal for two couples, a family or a spacious home for two people. We LOVED it! Complete with kitchen utensils, spices, grill etc. For many hours we sat watching the bay as sail boats came and went...check out the picture book showing some of the beautiful boats that have visited this harbor! The home has comfortable beds, spacious and clean baths, fluffy towels, wi-fi and a nice stereo system with i-pod connections. Spend a week really relaxing or hire a boat "driver" to zip you to Anse Cochan beach for a's a vacation you won't forget in a location that is breathtakingly beautiful. The owners arrange and include your arrival from the airport, so no stress there. Visit the Pitons, sit in the Mud Baths, take in the Jazz Player at the nearby lounge...but best of all, enjoy that view from the patio!

“Our Home Away from Home”

Reviewed 20 Jun 2009

We have stayed at Poinsettia House for the last 7 years, sometimes twice a year. The home is quiet and well maintained and always very clean. The owners provide all linens, towels, cooking utencils, if you enjoy cooking. The housekeeper is also a fabulous cook, just ask and she will make you a delicious Lucian meal. The house overlooks Marigot Bay and a beautiful view out to sea. From the deck you can watch all the ships entering and leaving the bay along with views of the marine life; such as sea turtles and spotted rays. We have watched the most brilliant rainbows move from the land out to sea, at times seeming to end at the bay right in front of us. The view of the sunsets are spectacular! You will hear of a green flash that appears at the horizon when the sun sets, it really does exist! Bring your binoculars. The beach area is quiet and well kept, with a bar/restaurant that provides beach service. We love Marigot Bay and Poinsettia House, we highly recommend a trip to the most beautiful bay in the world, and to Poinsettia House; it truly is our home away from home.

“a wonderful place to call home”

Reviewed 19 Jun 2009

Just wish we could have stayed longer than a week. Poinsettia House is beautifully situated on the quiet side of Marigot Bay. It was private, perfectly clean and well equipped - everything from great books, to first aid, to fresh ice.It is walking distance to many restaurants, but we couldn't get over the incredible views from the deck so spent most afternoons/nights grilling on the coal pot, sipping rum punches and watching for falling stars.Luciana the housekeeper and Smalley the driver were both very kind and helpful. Plus Luciana is a great cook. The French grocery across the Bay is well stocked, and the farmers market in Castries should not be missed. Driving on St-Lucia is not for nervous nellies, but the view of the Pitons and lunch at Ladera were so worth the hairpin turns. This is the 8th house we've rented in the Caribbean, and I can honestly say it was by far the best. We're definitely coming back with friends!
