“Maya Jardin was phenomenal”

Reviewed 1 May 2014

Our stay at Maya Jardin was phenomenal. We have traveled quite a bit and stayed at some really nice places but I think this tops them all. The main floor is so open and spacious and the views are amazing. You can tell that all of the details were well thought out, it was so easy to just relax and enjoy being there. We had 2 couples, 2 five year olds girls, and a grandpa. We thoroughly enjoyed the living space, the bedrooms, the pool, the ocean, the deck, the kayaks, the out door eating space, and the hammocks. We went into it thinking that we would have at least one meal there and maybe two or three. We had four and loved them all. I still can't believe we had so much comfort and connivance at such a reasonable price. We enjoy being able to walk to many things and thought that may be a drawback of this place. That was not the case. We took the kayaks out to the reef multiple time and even the girls loved the snorkeling there. I saw several rays and the reef itself was very interesting. It was a quick easy walk to Chamico's and it was idyllic to eat guacamole with our feet in the sand while the girls giggled in the hammocks. The swimming pool also provided hours and hours of entertainment. And at the end of the day, there was someone to cook us a Mexican feast. Renting a car is a very good idea and it makes it easy to get out for a bit if you feel so inclined. Our family stayed in for breakfast and our friends found places they loved in Tulum and akumal. We had dinner once in akumal and enjoyed how low key it was. The beach there was also nice for swimming. We also visited the Monkey Sanctuary and the Casa Cenote in the next bay. It was so great to not have any plans and just do what we felt like. I truly want to thank the owners for creating such a special place and the staff that were so warm and helpful while giving you tons of privacy. This is going to be a hard place to beat.

“Paradise!”

More beautiful than the pictures. The house is clean, well-appointed and the perfect place to enjoy Tulum. Great snorkeling, gorgeous beaches and cenotes. Wonderful ocean breeze cools the house. Great seafood just a short walk down the beach to an open air restaurant. Mauricio made the most amazing dinner! He will take good care of you. Can't wait to go back!

“Slice of the Good Life”

It really is a picture perfect vacation spot. You can't ask for more if relaxing is what you are after. Just dress for dinner and meet Mauricio and his family in the back yard for the best meal in Soliman Bay. We can say that because we did eat at a few spots and nothing comes close to the meals and hospitality of our man Mauricio. All we had time for was relaxing because the place was kept spotless for us. Follow the instruction book and enjoy the Mayan hospitality. We shopped in Tulum, saw Chi che niza and went snorkeling in the bay. Wildlife, birds and a feeling of security. Weather was beautiful everyday. If you go with couples it's a perfect no brainer, leave the cooking to Mauricio. We wanted to drop off the grid and you can do this here at Maya Jardin.

“Sublime!”

This is a fabulous house! Our extended family spent a week in this lovely spot, relaxing by the pool, kayaking, and enjoying the ever-changing water and sky panorama. The house is very well done architecturally and Mauricio, the caretaker, is a gem. I dream of going back!

“Perfect in every way!”

Maya Jardin is everything you are looking for. We have stayed at many villas and this one was the best. Everything is in great working order, the house is beautiful and Mauricio and his staff are all friendly, helpful and make delicious, affordable meals. The house is right on the beach, with it's own pool. The winds make the beach in front a little rough, but keep the bugs and heat at bay. If you walk out the back of the house and walk to the right along the beach, you can find a nice swimming area that is protected from the wind and at a delicious restaurant.

“Perfect Paradise!”

This place was simply amazing! The house is perfect and the grounds are exactly what we were looking for! 10 of us went down for our wedding and had the most amazing time. The location is perfect, the snorkeling was amazing. The location of the house puts you 10 minutes away from Tulum and no more than 30 minutes away from a dozen cenote caves, Zel-ha, the ruins, everything real Mexico has to offer. This is not in the touristy area of Playa or Cancun. It is real Mexico with great culture! The actual house was immaculate. It was right on the beach with no real neighbors. You could walk miles on pure sugar sand if you choose or just grab the kayaks and paddle out into the bay. The bathrooms were upscale with very nice fixtures. The bedrooms have dual fans as well as a new ac unit and keep things beyond cool if you so choose! The house was stocked well with cooking items and dishes. The pool was beautiful. The design of the house was great and so cool! It was perfect! The grounds keeper Mauricio was amazing. His English is a solid c+ and was helpful in everyway! I would strongly suggest having him cook for you at least a few nights if not every night! The prices are fair and his guacamole is out of this world!!! The maids Norma & Maria were so kind and did an excellent job everyday! The location is as safe as can be with guards at the entrance and nightly full time patrols on the roads and beach. I am looking forward to returning with a full house of friends and family! Sherry (the owner) was beyond professional in our booking and was so helpful! Thank you for making our wedding week so perfect!!! The only issue was we didn't want to leave!!!

“Spectacular!”

Reviewed 18 Nov 2013

This house was lovely in every way with great space for to 8 adults and 4 kids be together or apart. It provided both the privacy and semi-isolation we were looking for in a beach paradise and it is both luxurious and rustic, just what we were looking for. Caretaker Mauricio is friendly and helpful - and cooked an outstanding meal for "the big birthday" we were celebrating. The kitchen and outside grill is good for cooking for ourselves, which we did, too. Can't wait to find another excuse to visit!

We absolutely loved our stay at Maya Jardin! My daughter choose to get married at Casa Buena Suerte ( just a couple villas down the beach) We rented Maya Jardin because of the close proximity ...but when we arrived, we realized that we would have chosen this villa even if it had been nowhere near the site of the wedding!!! It was perfect for our family! The views were breathtaking and the house itself was fantastic! Coming from Texas, we are very dependent on air conditioning. It took a couple of days to get used to the un-air conditioned common areas, but the nice cool bedrooms more than made up for it! Plus, by the time we left...we were completely acclimated to the ocean breezes and the humidity !! Mauricio and Maria were wonderful and a wealth of knowledge about everything in the area! Plus...don't miss having a dinner ( or 2 or 3 or more) prepared by these 2! It was the best food we had in the Tulum area and that includes the dinner we had at Herchizo's!!! I was sooo sad to leave! I really felt like this was my home and it was so difficult to leave. Thank you Sherry and Jeff! We loved every moment at Maya Jardin!

“The perfect balance”

Reviewed 28 Jun 2012

Maya Jardin strikes the perfect balance between luxury and rustic charm. It's a beautiful, well-appointed home, but it doesn't look like an upscale american suburban house that was plunked down on the Caribbean and it's wonderful to have both the pool and the ocean right at your door. It also provides whatever amount of excitement and/or relaxation you choose - you can relax by the pool, look out over the turquoise water of the bay and star gaze for hours or you can do ziplines, snorkeling, kayaking, or many other activities. The caretakers are delightful, helpful and a pleasure to have around. We loved every minute of our stay there and highly recommend Maya Jardin!

“Relaxing Relaxing Relaxing”

Reviewed 25 May 2012

I was skeptical about going to Tulum because I like to do things and love to be in the water. We booked it and when we got there, had plenty to do. The house is perfectly situated for a getaway. You could spend all your time there chilling and exploring Solomon Bay or you are close enough to Tulum and Playa del Carmen for even more activities. The restaurants in Tulum are not so great and priced like New York, so I recommend staying in a couple of nights. And we did find everything to be more expensive than we thought, but I think anywhere white people are, it's expensive no matter what country you are in... The house was really well laid out for big groups, and there were just 2 of us. We found the house very livable. Some of the furniture could be more comfortable, and the bed a little less hard, however, we truly enjoyed our stay Maya Jardin.
