Very Good

“Excellent choice”

Reviewed 26 May 2013

I've stayed a whole month - April - and it was lovely. Brigitte is a lovely host / friend and the house is amazing. We've enjoyed the beautiful garden and the hammock there from the first day we were taken from the airport early in the morning. The cleaning lady, Martha, was nice, too. She took care of cleaning the house and laundry twice a week. All in all I couldn't have asked for more. And for those visiting the city for the very first time, great choice! Don't forget to rent a car to visit the surroundings. Brigitte will assist you with tips and maps and if you can't drive she'll even organize trips for you. Actually, Brigitte takes care of everything from the moment you arrive. Even fresh food in the fridge waiting for you to start with. Really helpful after a long flight. It's the perfect place for everyone, it's so cozy! Thanks a lot Brigitte for helping us build a vacation to remember long time from now. Really hope to revisit the area, and when it'll happen be sure we'll see each other again. I'll also see Coco the cat again. :)

I along with my wife traveled to Cape town in Feb , and our trip was made memorable not only because of the splendid and amazing beauty of the city itself but also because of my stay in Malleson Garden Cottage . The Cottage, truly exemplifies the phrase "home away from home " . Due to the ease of accessibility of the house , benign atmosphere , ease and comfort of the cottage , not once did we feel that we were staying abroad . Brigitte is a marvelous host and a great friend indeed . At the end of our stay we had only one regret - Wish we could stay longer with her!!!

“Super comfortable and peaceful accommodation in the shadow of ta”

Malleson cottage is situated in a quiet and relaxing part of Mowbray. The area is friendly and cosmopolitan and there are lots of shops and places to eat and drink. It is only 15 minutes by car to the Centre of cape town. The cottage itself is delightful and is fully equipped for a comfortable stay, with satellite TV. And a DVD player. The garden is paradise for those of us who love lying under the beautiful african sun!It is serviced twice a week and the charming owner Brigitte provides complimentary food and drink on arrival and makes every effort to ensure you have a comfortable stay.I felt very much at home during my stay and there is really nothing that I didn't like about the cottage or Mowbray. If I return to cape town I would not consider staying anywhere else.Ten out of ten for everything!

“Comfortable Cape Cottage”

Reviewed 4 Apr 2013

From the time of booking through to our arrival we had constant contact with the owner, when we arrived we were welcomed in in like family, given access to park our car inside. The cottage is very well maintained with ample space in the kitchen, bathroom and most importantly the bedroom. We have already earmarked this establishment for next year.

“Most convenient”

Reviewed 28 Feb 2013

I enjoyed my stay in this 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment. It is a short drive from the airport in an attractive an convenient part of town. I was surprised and pleased to find a basket of fresh fruit waiting for me on the kitchen counter. I enjoyed eating my breakfast at the outside table. The previous guest failed to mention to the owner that the shower drain was stopped up, but when I identified this problem it was promptly fixed. The sitting room contains a supply of local travel guides that made handy references. The owner's housemate was very kind and loaned me a badminton racquet so I could try my luck at local training center. I also frequented the swimming pool in Newlands (Main Rd + San Souci Rd), which is only 4 km away. There was room for me to park my rental car off the street, which was an added bonus. I would much prefer to stay here over a hotel downtown.

“Great cottage, good location, wonderful host.”

My wife and I stayed at Malleson cottage for two weeks in November and enjoyed ourselves immenseley in Cape Town. The accomadation has everything you need including some basic groceries to get you started and is clean and secure. The location in Mowbray was perfect for us with local shops a pleasant amble away, the station 5 minutes walk and the N2 or main road making Cape Town a 5 minute drive. Brigitte the owner is very helpful and laid back and even provides a mobile phone to use which helped us enormously when meeting up with friends. Also our laundry was cleaned twice a week by the wonderful Martha. We adored our time in the Western Cape and no small part of that was the home provided by Brigitte and I have no hesitation in reccomending Malleson Cottage to anyone wishing to visit the Cape.

“Wonderful experience!”

The cottage is ideal for two people, and its location between the UCT main campus and Obz was perfect for us. Brigitte is an excellent hostess and apart from always been available to answer our questions, she took us on a wonderful tour to the Cape of Good Hope. Also, Martha's professionalism gave us nothing to worry about in terms of managing the house. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Thank you very much for our lovely stay. Beautiful cottage in spotless condition. Great location 2 mins from train station, ten mins from town. Lovely touches such as bread on arrival. Lovely Martha helps keep us tidy and Brigitte could not have been more helpful. Cannot wait to return!

“Great location; generous host, well equipped cottage; offstreet”

Thank-you, Bridget, for your kindness and for sharing your wonderful cottage with us. (and thanks for raiding your medicine cabinet when RR caught cold). The cottage was better equipped than any other place we stayed during our Sa adventure. Bravo! We hope to return some day!

needing too be close to UCT my children stayed there for over a month; my stay was about a week, loved the private patio, wonderful maid service, and Brigette to answer ever need. One is encapsulated in bougainvia covered privacy, there is a sweet little kitchen and fast free wi fi. secure parking an a great hammock.
