“Peace and tranquility in France”

Reviewed 28 Aug 2013

Gite St Martin is a sympathetically restored traditional French cottage set at the base of a beautiful valley on the edge of Les Eyzies. It is a gentle15 mins walk into the centre of the town (3-4 minutes in the car) where there are an assortment of cafes and shops that supply most things that you will need. We loved our stay here in this tranquil little spot. There is a large table with chairs and recliners in the porch at the back leading on to a grassed area with trees where you can have your barbecue, and this in turn leads down to the pool which had just been opened when we arrived. The cottage had everything we needed and the bedrooms are particularly beautiful with their high pitched rooves and open timber beams. There are several walks around the area through beautiful scenery with woods open fields. Chantel and John were our perfect hosts, friendly, informative and always helpful but never intruding on our privacy. My wife was suffering from toothache and they quickly located an English speaking dentist in the area who sorted out her problem. I already miss the smell of wild mint and the butterflies that were abundant in the area. We will always have fond memories of our stay here and hopefully one day will call back, even if it was just to say hello to Chantel and John.

“Une semaine inoubliable”

Reviewed 26 Mar 2013

“A real opportunity to spend a “linguistic “holiday in Tayac in F”

Reviewed 6 Feb 2013

I have fond memories of Gite St Martin in Les Eyzies de Tayac : the house is very comfortable and pleasant, very picturesque of the region; The garden is spacious and peaceful I found I was able to relax there, I enjoyed visiting Les Eyzies and the region. There are many walks to do around the cottage. Lots of forests, hills and fields. Chantal and John make you feel very welcome. Chantal knows French customs well and she equally understands English tastes: she knows how to combine them and we feel at home in her property. It is a real opportunity to spend a "linguistic "holiday in a French environment, in very good conditions. Thoroughly recommended!
