“Wonderful Wonderful and oh Wonderful”
I was there over the Holiday weekend. You wouldn't know it was a holiday weekend. It was so secluded and well hidden from anyone. The Kauffman's are the kindest and most accommodating people around. The ground are actual desert and real desert. The horses and all the animals are very well taken care. The horses are very tolerable of my dog who still uses her Puppy Bark and the horses looked at her and asked what the heck was that. The sleeping quarters are wonderful and comfortable, clean and so warm feeling. I highly recommend anyone and everyone to go visit this little ranch and enjoy the hospitality, accommodations, and the desert of arizona.
“We loved our stay so much we can't we can't wait to get back.”
Jerry & Vonnie were very welcoming and helpful. Our "little house" was outfitted beautifully and was very comfortable. The setting, looking toward the Catalina mountains, was wonderful and being away from the city while still being close to shopping and restaurants made it convenient. The ranch backs up to state land and offers easy hiking and fine bird watching. What better way to start a morning than laughing at the Quail and chicks running around the ranch house. For breakfast we could choose from a well stocked pantry or request special items to prepare in our kitchen. Overall it was a wonderful stay and we have great memories.
I'VE been on a horse 2 times in my Life-i use the term on loosely!I'VE really been thrown twice.Vonnie has the patience of a saint. By the time I left, I really felt comfortable on a horse. Jerry is a doll with his stories that just captivate you. His come a long way! The B and B is immaculate and the views were breath taking. Will never stay anywhere else if I'M in the Tucson area. Already booked memorial day weekend! Can't wait.Hope to go back at least 2X/YR. Love Ya guys. Nancy and Kristie
“Could not have asked for more!”
If you like to hike, ride horses, love the outdoors or just plain relax, this is the place for you! We stayed for almost a week and will be back for more. Vonnie and Jerry are wonderful hosts. They were so gracious and helpful. Vonnie made arrangements for us to join a bird walking tour at our request, very enjoyable (one of the many highlights of our stay) She also gave directions, even escorted us to the trail head for a beautiful hike... right adjacent to their property. (after driving all the way for Illinois it was nice not to have to get back in the car right away :) Our room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. We loved sitting on the patio and watching all the birds, hummingbirds, and wildlife. So much fun!!
“What a find!”
We stayed at Casa De Caballo for two weeks in February. It was surprising to find a horse ranch located in the middle of a beautiful suburb! We were so comfortable in the casita and really loved seeing all the wildlife right there on the property -- loads of bunnies, quail and other birds, and of course the horses that live there. Jerry & Vonnie are delightful hosts and very accommodating! They made several good suggestions for activities in the area to match our interests (hiking, etc) and even drove us to one of the locations. There are some good walks and hikes available right from the ranch. We'd love to go back again next year!
“Location and great friendly hosts.”
The service we received was the best we have ever had, Vonnie and Jerry were great hosts and took care of anything we needed and then some. The casita was perfect for what we were looking for, quiet and private. Nice location in the foot hills of Mt Lemon, so much to do if you love nature. Wish we could of stayed longer:-)
“Discover a Treasure”
Casa de Caballo is a gem worth discovering. Tucked away at the base of the Santa Catalina's, sip a cup of hot coffee/tea, or a glass of wine on the patio and enjoy the majestic views! The accommodations are comfortable, safe and comforting. Vonnie and Jerry's hospitality is truly icing on the cake! We found our way back to their door four long weekends over the past two months, including a special Holiday stay. Whether you are looking for a quiet respite alone, a romantic weekend with your special someone, a launching point for hiking, horseback riding, cycling, touring the Sonoran Desert, or shopping for your special piece of desert, this is a wonderful accommodation to launch from! Thank you Vonnie & Jerry. Alice and Frederic, San Jose, Ca
