Villa Verde offers hotel style service with self-catering facilities. A bonus is free airport transfers and local transportation. We’re certified by the Greek National Tourist Organisation and subject to periodic inspections to ensure that we continue to deliver their ‘3-key’ standards. We thoroughly clean your studio every day and we regularly change towels and bed linen. Under Greek law, non-certified apartments are not allowed to do any of that. We have received awards for exceptional customer service from Booking_com, TripAdvisor, and Travel & Hospitality Awards of the UK.
We designed and built Villa Verde in 2008-09. The house is built to very high environmental standards. Geothermal energy provides most of our heating and cooling needs. Large solar panels provide hot water for personal use. Water from a well is used for our well-stocked garden, a very special feature of our villa. We live upstairs whilst on the ground floor we have four self-contained guest studios. Two of those can be linked for family use. We're at the end of a very small road that leads nowhere. There's no traffic and there is plenty of safe car parking space immediately outside our villa.
We're just 200 metres from the beach and the nearest excellent tavernas. Our local beach is a bit rocky but there are sandier beaches a short walk away. The superb sandy beach at Schinias, backed by pine forest, is only served by bus in mid summer. It's around 20 minutes drive for guests who have a car. It's probably around an hour's bike ride away. Nea Makri town centre with banks, shops and supermarkets is around one kilometre away, as is the harbour where fishing trips are available. There's a big choice of restaurants/tavernas and cafe bars around town. Every Thursday morning there's a big street market offering a lot of locally grown produce. Around 500 metres from home are bus stops for Athens, Marathon, the ferry for Evia island, a great day trip, and in mid-summer Schinias beach. We're just a few kilometres away from Marathon with its small but excellent archaeological museum and the Tomb of the Athenians from the 490 BC battle, Guests with cars can also visit Marathon Lake and the Ramnous archaeological site. The wetlands of the Schinias National Park have an amazing range of bird life through the winter. We will happily take guests without a car on a local tour. It's an easy drive to many famous archaeological sites including Delphi, Corinth, Mycenae and Epidavros.

If Chris (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
