I accidentally left this review for the wrong cottage, this is the right one.... Booking this cottage for a week was the best decision I ever made! I stayed there with an 8 and 6 year old and it WAS PERFECT!!!! The owners are amazing people and have literally thought of everything! We arrived very late and they were so accommodating... They have an awesome dog named Chak who kept my kids busy every second playing, and it is located in Digby Neck, which is close to the ferries and the town of Digby. We took a day trip to Yarmouth and it was only an hours drive. The view of the lake is to die for and you can take in any little fishing town of your choice. It is private and secluded and a great place to really connect with your family. Anyone with children traveling to this area would be wise to book this as your vacation rental. I can not say enough except the smiles never left our faces and now that I am back home I long to be there hearing the lake water and enjoying the scenery!
“What a great way to end of the summer !!!”
We picked this rental cottage for our long weekend stay based on all of the excellent reviews left by others who have stayed here. Each and every review was accurate. It was a wonderful place to stay at. The cottage was very clean, the lake was crystal clear, and the stars at night were on fire! Uwe and Jutta were always available next door to answer any questions we had. Their dog Chak was just awesome and gave our dog the best time ever. For three days straight they ran and chased each other, played, swam and other fun stuff! The canoeing was great and next year we will do some fishing for sure. The late season swim in the lake was "fresh"! The cottage is in a perfect location to leave for the day and explore the Digby Neck Islands. Beautiful drive, cheap ferries to the other islands, and a lot of scenic routes to discover off of the main highway. It's a stress free drive with zero chance of getting lost. We had an excellent Thanksgiving weekend. It was our escape from the real world and what a great way to end of the summer !!! We will most definitely come again. A+ Paul,Ula,Natasha and the others !
“Amazing peacefull spot for down time!”
We stayed 1 week with at this lovely cottage on Lake Midway, Digby Neck, Nova Scotia. There are only 2 cottages for rent on Lake Midway, and this one is fantastic because the hosts are right next door. The cottage is new, clean, bright, and has all the modern coviniences, including Wi-Fi. There is a canoe to use, and miles of hiking trails down to the ocean where you can see Deer wandering around the property. When the rest of Digby neck is fogged in, there seems to be some sort of clearing effect over the lake and it can be basking in sunshine. At night, the stars are like nothing we've seen anywhere. The hosts are a wonderful couple, there to help with anything you might need. We'll definately be back.
“comfortable ,quiet and really nice”
We stayed here for three nights and it was great. The cottage was warm and comfortable and well equipped and the situation on the lake was beautiful. We enjoyed using the canoe! Thank you Uwe and Jutta. Many thanks Pete and Penny

“great holidays, nice cottage, very sympathic innkeeper, interest”
We have been at lake midway for 3 weeks and we had great holidays at this nice place and much fun with the innkeepers, Jutta and Uwe. They are very friendly and helpful and very sympathic, also Chak, the dog. We have been at lake midway the third time and will be there next year once more. Many interesting trips are possible.
“Highlight of Trip”
If you're ever in the area of Digby Neck there is no better place to stay than the cottage owned by Uwe Drumm & Jutta Wettim. We've just returned from spending a week with them after touring the region around the Bay of Fundy & this was by far, our best stop. The cottage itself was equipped with plenty of pots, pans, dishes & even an electric tea kettle which I wish I could buy in the States, the location of course was spectacular with ever changing views of the lake, we found it very convenient for our daily trips to investigate the area but best of all was the friendship we quickly developed with our landlords & their dog Chak. We left with regret. Barbara & Vic Stephens, Dover, Delaware
“A quiet and cozy cottage with all the comforts of home”
The cottage was clean and very nice. It sits on a.quiet lake. Which was great after a day of exploring Digby, Brier island, and annapolis valley. The owners were very kind and made us feel welcome. We would definitely stay again!!
We stayed in this cottage for 6 days and it was a very lovely spot. The cottage is spotless and the owners even had dog dishes and a dog blanket for our dog!! The house is at the end of a long driveway and is very private. The lake is beautiful and has great sun sets... very clean also. There are tons of fun outdoor things to do in Digby and the two islands. The owners of the cottage are wonderful and very welcoming. They were helpful in suggesting places to go and gracious enough to teach us how to use their fancy outdoor grill!! This is a great spot for 2-4 people who are looking to enjoy all of Mother Nature's wonders.
“It can´t get better”
The cottage at Lake Midway, in Dibgy Neck, is a piece of paradise on Earth... The cottage is perfect for a family of 2-5; spotless clean, extremely quite and completely furnished, with all the common appliances, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine, stove, oven, dishes, cups, etc, that you would find in your own home, including wifi... The location of the totally independent cottage couldn't be better: it is at a lake, Midway, that not only has warm waters, but also is not muddy and is large enough for one to not see the other side of the lake. The deck/platform belonging to the cottage is a perfect place to jump for a swimming or to take the canoe, with life vests, that the owners and hosts, Jutta and Uwe, provide with the rental. We fished in the lake several times and even had some private fishing lessons with Uwe; our 9 years son just loved it... There is also a very interesting open air, wood fed barbecue at the backyard, facing the lake, and a more tradition one, with gas heating, on the house deck, also facing the lake. The location of the cottage is also close to a sandy beach, wharfs for fishing, whale watching, trails, making it an indeed very special place to be...One last word about the owners: the nicest people that you could have around; they become not your renters, but your friends at the end of your stay... The only problem with staying at their cottage is the wish of not leaving...
