“Just like home”

Reviewed 19 Jun 2016

As soon as we walked through the door, we felt like we were home. The house is located on a back road, but the town and shops are about a10-15 minute walk away. It is nicely decorated and has very comfortable furniture. Spent a lot of time on the screened front porch, just relaxing and sipping my coffee. The kitchen and bathrooms are packed full of everything you could possibly need. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner personally because she was staying at her other house at the same time we were there; a very helpful, friendly and trusting person (we had difficulties getting the payment to her because we live in Germany). Although it rained often, it was by far the best two weeks we've ever had on Chincoteague (and we've made many trips there and have stayed in other houses as well as motels). I would definitely stay there again.

Response from the owner Thank you Linda it was our pleasure!!.

“Sunshine Cottage Is the One!”

I have been coming to Chincoteague Island since a teenager and I'm almost 50 yrs. Old. This is the cottage you want people! Is has the perfect location and it is very neat, clean and cozy. The best part is the owners. They are so sweet, kind and honest. Not only that - the owners are sharing their blessing and blessing families by making it affordable for us to enjoy. Thank you and Praise God for them. I will def. return again ; ) P.S. God blessed them and they are blessing us.

“Home away from Home”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2013

My husband, 9 yr old daughter, parents and I stayed here this past week. The house was great! It had everything we needed while we were there. Rooms were clean and spacious. This was our 4th time to Chincoteague and the last time we stayed at the house across the street so we knew the area. It is a nice, quiet neighborhood. My daughter rode her bike up and down the street everyday. We had ducks that visited daily and there was even a group of 8 babies! We love Chincoteague and will most likely be back to this house next summer! Thanks Linda!!

“Sunshine Cottage on "Pony Island"”

Reviewed 23 Jan 2013

This adorable, cozy, family-friendly cottage is perfect for all ages. My family and I stayed here for the first time this past summer (Summer 2012) and I would definitely return! Distance (from pa) was tough with a 2-year-old in tow but well worth the drive; we were welcomed by a family of ducks. The location is great - within walking distance of downtown, restaurants, gift shops, etc. In addition, my 2-year-old enjoyed the huge playground and fishing pier which was only a short driving distance away. The house is well kept and comfortable; a home away from home!

“Chincoteague Island Weekend get away!”

Reviewed 14 Jan 2013

This quaint abode made for an enjoyable quiet place to hang my hat far away from home... The comfortable dwelling, with screened in porch, is exetremely close to the main road and most of the town attractions Chincoteague has to visit. The house itself is physically small but has enormous character. It was very clean and organized, and made for a comfortable stay with a 2 year old in tow. I would highly recommend this house, especially for the price, it is well worth it!

“Great stay”

“Pony Plunge!!”

Reviewed 9 Jan 2013

Wonderful house; Upon our arrival we were greeted by a parade of ducks! The house is cheery, relaxing and inviting upon entering. It has many accomdations from a full kitchen, to comfortable furniture, and wireless connection. Most importantly it is walking distance to town and the "Creamery" We saw many ponies stabled around the island. The oysters/shrimp were delicious!! I would not hesitate to stay here again.

“Great place to stay!”

Very well kept and close to the downtown for stores and resturants. Very nice neighborhood. The house is kept up very well on the inside and out. Plenty of places to walk to or rent a scooter and ride around on the whole island.
