“Such a wonderful, comfortable stay!”

My two siblings and I stayed at the Tolbooth for five days at the beginning of May. Upon arrival, we were met by the owners for a quick run-through of how things in the apartment worked and lots of Edinburgh tourist information was provided to us, including sites to visit and places to eat out. The kitchen was stocked with food essentials (milk, juice, cereal, bread) and there was a warm pot of tea and delicious baked goods waiting for us. The apartment is ideally located right on the Royal Mile - within easy walking distance of some of Edinburgh' s most interesting sites and museums. We had such a wonderful, comfortable stay and would definitely stay there again!

We received a warm welcome on arrival - tea and homemade cakes. Basics were provided such as milk and bread, tea and coffee and toilet rolls. The flat was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. It was good to have a dishwasher and washing machine. The location was brilliant - just off the Royal Mile. It was very quiet and there was a good shortcut to the railway station. There were shops and restaurants nearby. In all it was a great place to stay and we looked forward to going home each evening because it felt like home.

The apartment was lovely and very clean. The owners met us there with a pot of tea ready, home made shortbread and cake (which was delicious) and they had got us milk, bread, cereal, jams and marmalade's so we didn't even need to nip out to the shops for necessities. A great location to explore Edinburgh from and a great place to put your feet up and rest after a long day round the castle. We went in the Winter but will be back in the Summer and will hopefully be staying there again if they'll have us!

From when we booked to when we arrived Mr Young was extremely helpful with directions from the station and emails to make sure we had everything we needed. Our break was Dec 27th to Dec 30th and on arrival Mr Young showed us around the apartment and gave us a basket of goods which included tea, coffee, milk, bread, jams, fresh fruit, cakes, shortbread and a bottle of sparkling wine. The apartment is a real home from home with everything could want. It was spacious, very clean and tidy and as much information in the book shelf that you needed to make our first visit a real joy. A less than 5 minutes walk to the Royal Mile you really are in the heart of what is going on with great sites. All in all an exceptional apartment and great value for money. Would we use this apartment again 100% yes. Bob a very big thank you for your hospitality we had a great time and hope to visit again soon.

The apartment was superb. Everything one could need is there; even staples in the pantry and fridge - including milk, juice, tea etc. Rob and Rona are wonderful hosts. They accommodated our early arrival, and to our delight the added touch of home baking - just what one needs after a 15 hour journey. We devoured those scones and shortbread as well as the cake! The apartment was clean and well equipped. The kitchen had every utensil one would need. The bedroom was big and comfortable. The living and dining area very homey. Staying here while on vacation is ideal as you have the comforts of "home" while being right on the quite section of the Royal Mile. Everything is within walking distance of this apartment as well - it really is the ideal location. Renting an apartment as opposed to a hotel is also a favorable option in that you can relax with your morning tea without having to leave your room.

We received a very friendly and helpful service. Our home for the week was perfect - clean with a good range of facilities wanting for nothing. The location is superb for the Royal Mile, Princess Street and private or public transport links to get around the city. All the amenities we needed were on the door-step. We liked best the personal contact before arrival; personal welcome on arrival and the goodies in the kitchen. Sadly it rained and the sun was not blazing hot ... but it was November! It was so good we are going back

The Tolbooth apartment is spotlessly clean, nicely decorated, well equipped and very comfortable. Located just off the Royal Mile (Canongate), it makes an excellent base, convenient for visiting attractions on the Royal Mile/Old Town area as well as Princes Street and the New Town. Bob & Rona, the owners, are truly welcoming, helpful, thoughtful and accommodating. A generous welcome pack is provided with all the essentials such as milk, bread, orange juice, cereal, jams, biscuits etc. as well as delicious home-baked goods. The apartment has a comfortable bed and a fully fitted kitchen. A lot of thought and attention to detail has gone into the apartment, which is fitted with everything you will need for an enjoyable, relaxing and comfortable stay - e.g. Internet connection, hairdryer, sewing kit etc. A nice touch was the bookcase/library with interesting books on many different subjects as well as folders containing tourist information, maps, things to do, restaurant details etc. This was a useful resource. We have stayed many times at the Tolbooth apartment and keep returning year after year as it ticks all the boxes. It is a great place to come back to relax at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. Highly recommend staying here and cannot wait to return!!

On the Royal Mile, amazing central location. Very warm welcome from owners with home made cakes and staples;spotlessly clean with all amenities including Wifi and well equipped kitchen plus washer/dryer. Parking safe and secure very convenient for driving to nearby places for walks and Glasgow. We have stayed here 4 times and look forward to visiting again this year for the Edinburgh Festival- a place to relax between shows. Priced very reasonably too - highly recommended.
