“Wonderful place to stay”
We really enjoyed our stay in the Sanctuary @ Stanton. The apartment was tidy en spacious and the staff very friendly. A special note for the possibility to join yoga and meditation classes as well as the concern for the less fortunates and life in general.
This was a perfect place to stay for our family with three kids. Staff was very friendly and place was absolutely tidy. I will definitely consider staying again next time we'll make it to NY.
“Peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the big city”
Quiet, accessible, clean, and roomy. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. The Rama suite was perfect for our family of four, and we would without hesitation recommend a stay at Sanctuary (and have already!). Our suite was as advertised.
“It couldn't be better!”
Our stayed at sanctuary was perfect the moment that we walked in we felt the good energy ,the staff was great, breakfast was perfect just what you need to start your day ,location close to everything , you feel like a local we stayed at their lowest east side location-and it was close to a train connection to union square that can connect you to uptown downtown east west and Brooklyn .great restaurants around .The room was just perfect for the 4 of us we had the king master suite the room was just like a hotel room or better. All you need for cooking sleeping etc. Mario was great .We'll come back for sure!
“Perfect place to stay for a New York trip.”
Together with my wife and my nice we stayed 7 nights in the Sita suite. Very spacious and tastefully furnished with high quality furniture. Everything was very clean. The breakfast, which is served only at working days is bit minimalist but sufficient. Probably this is related to the fact that Sanctuary Guest Suites advocates vegetarian alimentation.
“Serenity in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Manhattan”
I am so glad we finally got to stay at Sanctuary Stanton. We had tried before when our daughter was in college and lived in the adjoining apartments, but they were booked up. What a great experience! I travel a lot for business and to visit daughter who now lives in NY permanently and by far this was the most pleasant and relaxing stay I have had in Manhattan at any property. Spacious rooms, clean and well-cared for, complete kitchen with appliances. Our second room had a wonderful private patio. If that is not enough, they have free yoga classes for guests and vegetarian breakfast downstairs during the week. I would not hesitate to recommend Sanctuary Stanton to a friend and plan to be back on a future visit to NYC.
“Absolutely perfect place to stay”
For more than 30 years I have been traveling to New York, and I have stayed in many different hotels, as well as other types of lodging. At one point I even wrote an article on less expensive places to stay in New York for my local newspaper, so I have been inside numerous accommodations in the city. Sanctuary Guest Suites is far above all the others. It was spacious, clean, relatively inexpensive, and customer service was excellent. First of all, we were met by Zachary, who answered all our questions and got us checked in quickly. As we were five women traveling together, space was a concern. All our fears were put to rest the moment we arrived at the Sita suite. The rooms had a total of four closets, a spacious medicine cabinet in the bathroom, and numerous shelves and drawers. We had room to spare. The room was spotlessly clean, and the patio was a perfect place to have our coffee in the morning. Our room was very quiet--just a little street noise on the weekend, but it is, after all, New York City. We didn't ever make it down to the breakfast, so I can't speak to that, but the kitchen had everything we needed: coffee pot, refrigerator, plates, and silverware. If we had been interested in cooking, everything we would have needed was there for that as well. On Monday of our eight-day stay, we volunteered for the Food for Life program run through Sanctuary. It was a wonderful opportunity, and we have great admiration for Adi and the work he is doing. If you need daily maid service, this may not be the place for you, but it was never an issue for us. We were able to get clean towels when we needed them, and when we were getting low on toilet paper or paper towels, all we had to do was ask. They were brought to our room immediately. We were quite happy and comfortable taking our garbage to the refuse room when the cans were full, but you should be aware you will need to do this. For a small extra charge, you can get the service if it's important to you, and it will be done once if you have a longer stay. The location is near so many good restaurants that we usually had dinner on the walk home from the subway station. It's walking distance for exploring Chinatown, Little Italy, the East Village--and, for us at least, the West Village and Financial District. We were able to transfer from the F train to go almost everywhere we needed to go. The next time I go to New York, I would definitely stay here--and my daughter-in-law said it will be perfect for their family when they go to visit their son who is in college on Long Island. I will also take my yoga pants the next time I go so I can take advantage of the free yoga classes for guests.
“Refuge from the hustle and bustle”
We found the sanctuary just what we needed from a family perspective. Plenty of space and comfort. Also, a very welcome refuge from the hustle and bustle of NYC. Location was good. Only a short walk to the subway and a lot better than the touristy mid town areas.
“Restful oasis in big city”
Fantastic staff and warm, comfortable surroundings. Rooms were well stocked and spacious. We had a mother/daughter weekend in this property. We felt very welcome and at ease with Mario. The staff were available but not invasive. When a calamity hit the last day of our trip, the manager ensured we could stay an additional day, a great comfort. Close to subway. Great price if willing to sacrifice some on location.
We stayed for a week. The rooms were very clean and it was very quiet at night. It was my wife and I with our two kids and it worked great. It was also nice to have the small breakfast in the morning. The location was great and it was only 4 blocks to the subway which we used every day. I would highly recommend this location!!!
