Very Good

“Go there - it is a great experienxe”

Sometimes you are just lucky. Coming to Ekhaya was our luck. We stayed there more than 10 days and enjoyed an absolute warm and welcoming atmosphere. The architecture – the rooms are fantastic. The view is breathtaking. But most importantly: Meeting the owners and their wonderful staff was like meeting good friends. They made our stay there a unique experience. Staying at this small resort provides you both great luxury but still with a sustainable spirit: Organic food, solar energy and home grow vegetables. The place is perfect for couples as well as for families with kids. The pool and the possible water activities along with the options for private trips to nearby beautiful islands with excellent snorkeling ads to the great experience there. We really recommend this place.

Stayed here in May as a birthday surprise, the accommodation was excellent, great views of the bay from the room and its large terrace. Fresh fish and lobster available daily, cooked on a bbq if that's what was wanted. Easy access to snorkeling, diving and fishing and the opportunities to island hop from one beautiful coral island to another. To celebrate my birthday the owners organized a beautiful serenade by the local church choir. Glorious!

Response from the owner Thank you Eric. It was as much of a pleasure to have you with us. Thanks for coming. Mel & Arnie

“A little slice of Paradise”

Situated in a magical world of vivid colour and panoramic views, Villa d'Este is gorgeous haven which feels like a complete hideaway! However it is still a home away from home since we were able to prepare our own breakfast and drinks in the well equipped kitchenette. The whole villa was so comfortabel we lacked for nothing and to wake up and see the sparkling azure ocean from my bed was purely magical! We were able to visit many nearby islands in the archipelago for snorkeling, kayak the bay at dawn and we enjoyed coral trout and slipper lobster barbecued just for us ! I would return in a heartbeat, a glorious stay.

“Birthday treat in beautiful Busuanga!”

We stayed for 5 days in the downstairs apartment at Villa d'Este. The gorgeous owners - Arnie & Mel - were upstairs and added immeasurably to the wonderful holiday we enjoyed, helping us get to know the local area and community, and celebrate the birthdays of my husband and daughter. The area is beautiful; with lovely views still largely undiscovered (except by the half dozen very smart yachts that bob up and down in the bay). The contrast of the deep blue water with the vibrant green trees was such a delight to wake up to. Each morning we pushed back the huge wooden bi-fold doors and opened up the wall to the morning breezes as we drank our coffee! The two of us, and our kids (aged 12 and 10) were in seventh heaven: swinging in the hammocks at the waterside, taking boat trips on the local Barcas, snorkelling around the piers and on a fabulous day trip to Calambuyan Island with its rich coral life, eating locally caught slipper lobster, fresh crab and succulent reef fish, and zipping around on jet skis... The property is beautiful and sustainable. Arnie has designed and developed everything with a strong commitment to the local environment: discreetly positioned buildings, fantastic local cogon (thatch and bamboo) roofs, seasoned reclaimed timber, a committed and skilled local workforce who are both competent and charming, solar power and grey water treatment. And there's no compromise on quality of life. The villa has full aircon, good cooking facilities, comfortable beds, strong, hot showers... and arnie can supply excellent wine for the evenings when the kids are asleep, the breeze is blowing and the stars are thick in the sky overhead. Arnie's plans mean the place can only go from strength to strength... We wish him all the luck in the worl and we're already planning our return!

We spent 8 days in the downstairs villa. The views from the property are breathtaking. The accommodations were everything one would need and want. Air conditioning, hot water, wi-fi/Internet, a fully kitted kitchen: refrigerator, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, beaufitul private bathroom with a private garden. All the furniture - tables, doors, windows etc. handmade on site by local artisans. The area is what dream vacations are made of: white sandy beaches with snorkeling at your feet - pristine coral reefs teaming with exotic fish, island hopping, ship wreck diving, yachting/ boating jet skiing, kayaking, island hopping for a day of relaxing fun. Go into the town of Coron for some local shopping and tour of the lovely local homes and churches, a beer at a pub and retreat to our private paradise! The area will touch your heart and the locals will touch your soul. You will want to go back! Believe me, we do and we will!!

Response from the owner Excellent thanks
