“Nicest place out of 15 European accommodations”

Reviewed 14 Jun 2015

My family of 4 traveled throughout Italy and the UK for a month. This was the nicest place we stayed at, and Ute could not have been a more gracious hostess. Views from the deck were stunning, even though we had stormy conditions most of our stay. Everything was clean, comfortable and nicely maintained. Minor concerns (to balance out my 5-star praise): Only one shower had curtains, and it was a little tricky to keep it from sloshing onto the floor. The washer was hard to figure out, though Ute offered to come and help us. And the neighbors seemed a little stand-offish when we asked if we'd found the correct rental house. Overall, though, you couldn't stay at a more beautiful place or ask for a nicer hostess.

“Wonderful Apartment in Beautiful Location”

Ute, the owner, was very prompt in answering all my emails and enquiries. When we arrived she greeted us warmly and showed us around her place. Ute was very enthusiastic and spent a lot of time sharing information with us on good places to hike, where to grocery shop, eat, etc. She even provided us with our first breakfast which included fresh bread and eggs. Her apartment is very clean, comfortable, nicely furnished, and in a beautiful, quiet residential area but within walking distance of the main Cortina resort. She has a lot of books and resource materials to plan your stay. There were 4 of us so the two bathrooms came in really handy. Also available were hiking poles and via ferrata kits which we took advantage of. She also has mountain bikes but unfortunately we did not have enough time to ride them. Ute helped us reserve a Rifugio which we wanted to experience after we left her apartment. I cannot say enough about her willingness to help. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone who plans to visit the Cortina area. The Dolomites are beautiful mountains and we hope to return one day!

“Spacious, yet cosy. Near village, yet in quiet area. Best host and hostess EVER!”

We booked Masito for our stay to participate in Lavaredo Ultra Trail race in June 2014. From the moment of contact, Ute answered my multitude of questions with grace and charm. By the time I arrived in Cortina and was met by Vito, I felt like family. He was welcoming and helpful and took care of whatever was needed--even down to buying adaptors for our US electronic devices and delivering them to us. Excellent service! The walk into town is lovely, but I recommend you take a backpack to carry food market purchases. Thank you, Ute, for all you do to make your apartment cosy, clean and efficient--loved the lip balm and hand balm samples. Thank you, Vito, for all your hard work around the property and helping me with maps and trail routes. I hope to visit your beautiful village again and will contact you for accommodations! Ciao!

“Best choise for a lovely vacation in Cortina D'Ampezzo!”

We stayed in Masito with a group of friends during the New Year vacation (Dec2013-Jan2014).I can say with no doubt this is the best apartment we have ever stayed in and believe me we've been to many European mountain resorts. We arrived late night and still Ute was waiting for us to welcome at Masito and show us around. The location of Masito is just great-not in the crowded and noisy city center but at the same time only 10 min walk from it if you decide to spend the evening in the town. Also there is quite a big parking so your car will be in a good place.Inside the apartmetn itself is wonderful-very cosy, comfortable, beautifully decorated, makes you feel home (nothing like a hotel or standard rental).Masito is perfect for a family of group of friends-you can have a dinner or watch TV all together in a nice big living room.By the way the kitchen is fully equipped and you can cook all sort of meal. Also we enjoyed a lot the tremendous views from the balcony and all the rooms' windows. The ski room is a big plus as well.Special thanks to Ute who was extremely helpful with all kind of services and also in what's entertainment in Cortina is concerned. Her fluent English is amazing! And she cares a lot about every guest - you don't see that often. We keep warm memories about our holidays and about Ute.If we are ever to visit Cortina D'Ampezzo again we will definately stay in Masito!

“Like staying in your own home”

Reviewed 19 Feb 2014

We were worried about booking an apartment online with someone you dont know but i am amazed at how great the communication has been, we arrived on 6th Feb and was gobsmacked by the amount of snow (3.5mts!!)Ute was at the apartment to greet us and show us around and her husband vito sorted out our ski hire with a discount, they both were extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome, every day someone came by to clear the snow from the drive and walkways, the apartment is situated in such a beautiful location just near the river, everything you could want is already there and they even supplied coffee, cakes, bread and milk etc to start you off. I would love to have seen some of the surrounding area but the snow was to deep to walk on, they were both contactable at all times for any questions and i would highly recommend this apartment for anyone that is looking for a great value, home from home place to stay, the beds were comfortable and everywhere was clean and tidy, the lounge was very spacious, we stayed for 10 days and cooked at home for most with no issues, my only suggestion is that they get some harder pillows.

“Perfect home away from home.”

We are a couple from australia and stayed for two nights in June. The first floor apartment has great views of the mountains to the west and south with large balconies to enjoy it. It is situated  just out of town in a quiet area near the river. There is a great walk that begins 300 m's away with majestic views of all the surrounding mountains.  It is spacious with a well equiped kitchen and extras such as olive oil, salt and pepper, tea, coffee pasta and much more. It is tastefully decorated, comfortable, two bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, and great laundry services. The owners Ute and Vito were so helpful and enabled us to have a great walk in the mountains to a remote restaurant called Fodara. They can help you with equipment for hiking and climbing. The little things also include a library, slippers, and beautiful ornaments like a rocking cradle and a massive wooden slab dining room table. This place is faultless and cheap when you consider being able to cook great meals at home. Chris and Dorne Quinn, Australia.
