“Perfect Birthday Celebration Week With Friends”

Reviewed 23 Jun 2014

We choose the Villa Cascada for a birthday celebration that included a group of friends from all over the US. The pictures on the site are great but the actual villa is so spectacular that we thought we had died and gone to heaven (maybe Costa Rica is ??). We have many friends that have gone to Costa Rica and they talk all about the conservation and environment and beauty of the tropical forests and jungles and mountains. When we got back home, people ask us what we thought of CR and I am embarrassed to say that because of the gorgeous accommodations at Villa Cascada, we did not really leave the area and see what the country has to offer. It's really like what I imagine a "family compound" for the rich and famous would be like. Beautiful, spacious rooms and outdoor areas, unbelievable views, friendly and useful kitchen, great outdoor eating table that seats 12 people and an indoor dining area too. All the bedrooms are private and clean with comfortable beds, bathroom, safes, (and alarm clocks, boo!!), nice linens that are changed during the stay by a great staff. The location is convenient. Every morning and evening we went shell hunting on the beach, walked to Longosta Beach Club for dinner or to town for a great breakfast or lunch. Too many restaurants within walking distance to try them all. Nice, reasonable, non-touristy shopping in Tamarindo. There is a grocery store within 5 minutes walk of house so we did cook many meals in the kitchen ourselves. The owner had told me about a chef to hire for the special birthday dinner for my partner and she provided everything so we could all sit back and enjoy the pool, sunset and outdoor gardens area. We had not a single problem. The owner was so helpful and accommodating. She made our stay very special and relaxing. I would return to Villa Cascada again. One of the neighbors we met told me that he thinks July/August is the best time to come down so I think I'll try it then. The only issue would be how are we ever going to see the rest of Costa Rica with a gorgeous place like this to come to?

Response from the owner Thank you for your great review. We'd love to have you come back and explore some more of this wonderful area of Costa Rica!

“Fantastic experience at Villa Cascada!”

Reviewed 23 Oct 2013

We stayed there for a week at the end of September 2013. Three couples who were looking to get a way for a few days. Primary criteria in finding a house rental were (1) on the beach and (2) in the town. Villa Cascada delivered on both counts. House is literally on the beach - back gate is approximately 30 feet from the sand. Center of town is about a 5-10 minute walk down the beach. The nice thing about the location is that it still feels like a pretty private beach - towards edge of town. Overall, we had a terrific time in Tamarindo and our experience at Villa Cascada was great! The house itself is beautiful and very well maintained - even nicer than it appears in the photos on Flipkey. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice and decorated very well. The master bedroom in the main house is very big, has two terraces overlooking the pool and ocean, and also has an outdoor shower. The gourmet kitchen is also very nice and made for a great place to gather and relax with delicious Costa Rican coffee in the morning or a drink in the evening. The pool and grounds are gorgeous and made for a wonderful experience as well, with a fountain and waterfalls to add to the ambience. Great for nighttime swims and hanging out, as everything lights up. Good opportunities to see wildlife, including howler monkeys, iguanas, and birds right outside the back gate. The staff is also very friendly and helpful - Ines the housekeeper, Marvin the gardner, and alejandro the nighttime security guard. We paid extra to hire Ines to make breakfasts (which were great) and also hired a chef (Patricia) to make lunch - which was phenomenal. Reasonable rates and very good food. The house rental also included other nice amenities, such as a very good wifi connection, a Voip phone that dialed directly to the U.S. for free, and a security system. The stereo is wired with speakers inside and outside, and has an iPod connector cable to play your own music. Great all around!

Response from the owner Thank you for your kind review. I hope you'll come and stay with us again!

“What a fabulous place!”

This villa, Villa Casada, leaves nothing lacking. We had a fountain and a garden in our bathroom,a king size bed in the bedroom, and plenty of space. Another of the six bedrooms has a beautiful outdoor shower and is very large and beautifully decorated, as is the whole residence. A very large and luxurious kitchen allows for large group dining at the table which seats a dozen easily, The landscaping is well maintained as is the pool area and outdoor bar with underwater bar stools! A stunning place to gather and relax with the beach only yards away. Privacy and security complete the package.

“Perfect ladies get away!!”

We were an assorted group of 12 woman of varied ages and interests. There was truly something for everyone at this oceanfront villa. You could relax in the sun or shade or stroll the beach and try your hand at surfing or horseback riding.A car isn't needed because the town is within walking distance and contains everything you would need or want. I would return to this little bit of paradise. If I were to change anything it would be the photos on this site, they don't show the beauty of this gem.

“You'll want to move in!”

Beautiful property! Right on the beach. Accommodations clean and comfortable and staff is friendly yet stay out of your way. Nice view - everything you could want for a nice getaway. Outdoor area as nice as indoor. Truly amazing place.

“In love with this home!”

Reviewed 15 Mar 2013

We rented this house for our destination wedding. The intention was to house our immediate family for some bonding time and have a location for our wedding ceremony/reception. Villa Cascada exceeded our expectations! The photos do not do it justice because the layout is so unique. The main areas are very communal, yet each bedroom is quite private. Each of the showers in this rental are quite luxurious, but the master suite and the casita have open air showers that are to die for!! We held our ceremony on the beach in front of Villa Cascada. The house is one of the first beachfront properties just beyond all of the local businesses, making it a perfect location in my opinion. It is close to all the commerce, yet the beach in front of the house has very little foot traffic making it feel somewhat private. The house comes with an unbeatable staff! Ines, the housekeeper, feels like part of our family now! The house was perfectly maintained and has a guard at night offering an extra bit of security to an already safe location. For a number of delicious beach restaurants just step out of your front gate and walk the beach a few minutes! You will not go wrong if you choose this home for your vacation, be it a couples' retreat, family reunion, wedding or a simple getaway. You will feel as if you stepped into the pages of and exotic travel magazine, and you will be set to experience some of the best beach flavor Costa Rica has to offer!

Response from the owner We are so pleased you chose Villa Cascada for your beachfront wedding and honored to play a small part in such a wonderful event in your lives! Thanks for sharing a few photos. We hope to see you again soon!

“Beachfront Luxury”

Reviewed 14 Jan 2013

We rented the main house for 2 weeks (family and friends). It is by far the best location in the area for a pristine sandy beach (great boogie boarding!), 5 min. walk to town, great nearby restaurants, and access to other amenities such as meeting up with sport fishing boats, sunset cruises, surfing lessons etc. Everything is walking distance from the beach (and your back door). Great pool and deck area, and spacious rooms with a great house staff keeping the place safe, secure, clean and well maintained daily. In addition, we appreciated easy access to the Property Managers, when we had questions. We will be back; it just doesn't get much better. Thanks!
