“Great Location, Fantastic View, Wonderful Place to Vacation!”

Reviewed 18 May 2014

The views and surrounding area is as good as the pictures show. There's plenty of water and tour activities you can get to right nearby, a good number of local shops and restaurants are all within walking distance, you can always just lay out at the beach waiting just outside your front walk or you can just hang out with drinks on the balconies or inside the condo with windows open to feel the wonderful ocean breezes. We had drinks and played cards most nights and found at the end we hadn't turned on the TV except to check if it worked - it did - but not needed. We went with our adult children, 24 and 21, and had a really fun family vacation week. Going non All-Inclusive gave us the flexibility to restaurant at night at a number of nice local restaurants and explore the local shops including the mini mart up the street. Brenda and Marcus , the property management team, were very welcoming and ready to help as needed for direction on most anything from getting around the area, exchanging money to even clearing faucet filters in the condo. Jean set out our chairs each morning and was very appreciative of our small tips. The beach vendors, just down the beach from us, will let you know they can find you all the best gift shop, cigar store and excursion deals but after they know you know they're there won't pester you. They earn commission on anyone they can bring into the beachfront gift shop nearby but are just friendly people like all the Dominicans we found and, like any country you visit, appreciate any Spanish you try to use or just not assuming they'll know English. The condo has air conditioning available but we highly recommend getting the most from your Caribbean experience and enjoy the cool ocean breezes. Our children opted a few nights for air conditioning in the back bedroom but it was windows open otherwise. We recommend only exchanging enough Pesos at the airport to get started but get rest from local exchanges that gave us 43 per dollar vs. 36 at the airport. Brenda and Marcus will guide you. You can also use your bank ATM card at local bank ATM's to then get Pesos as you need. Your bank will likely give you one of the better exchange rates (they'll charge $'s to your home account) but let them know in advance you're traveling out of country or they'll cut the card off for fraud protection. We highly recommend this place for your next Caribbean vacation getaway!

“Amazing Beachfront Rental!”

Just came back from what is our new favorite vacation spot! The service was beyond compare- The property manager picked us up right at the airport and was so very helpful, even taking us to the grocery store and pointing out local restaurants, bakeries and shoppes which were all within 5 minutes walking distance of the condo. We were so glad she took the time to show us the great local faire, as we really wanted to enjoy all of the culture the DR had to offer, and unlike an all inclusive resort where all the food/experiences sometimes feel "cookie-cutter," we experienced fantastic croissants from a French bakery around the corner, some of the best Thai food we have had (a 2 minute walk from the condo), and other local restaurants that brought the Dominican culture to life for us. This really made for a more memorable stay, as we truly enjoy having a more intimate and individualized approach to our vacations. The condo could not have been more perfect! Just a few steps down the stairs and we were right on the beach. My favorite part would have to be the two private porches (both ocean front) which made for great spots to lay on a chaise lounge and watch the sun rise/set, unwind after dinner, or curl up with a good book and watch/listen to the ocean. The condo had all amenities you would need while on vacation, and more. I loved the open floor plan of the shower. The high-end bedding and interior decor made for a luxurious feeling of being pampered while having the privacy we craved. We really loved having water views from the main living areas of the condo. The only recommendation I had to was have a first-aid kit in the condo (for clumsy people like me!), to which the property manager said she would immediately supply in the condo. Her genuine interest in our stay and providing a high-level of service was exceptional. We loved this vacation spot so much, we actually booked another trip back in September right there on the spot! Can't wait to go back!

“Our New Favorite Paradise!”

Reviewed 10 Jun 2013

125 Steps. That's the number of steps it takes to get from the condo steps to the sea. The only thing between you and the water - sand and tall beautiful palm trees. We will never or almost never stay in a hotel again! Condo: This condo is perfect for two couples with 2 bedrooms/2 full bathrooms and two balconies that face the water, large dining table and living room. The sofa is a sleeper. The decor is a modern, beach/tropical theme. It has air conditioning, equipped kitchen, linens, and 5 gal water dispenser. Location: Great location with local shopping and small grocery store, ATM and restaurants within walking distance. Nearby beach restaurants served great food - especially the fresh fish. Management: David was quick to respond and put us in touch with the property manager, Brenda. The reservation details were handled with ease. Our every request was met with professionalism. Island experience: We experienced the Taino Caves, MamaJuana, and the tunnel shops. Recommend letting Brenda arrange a trip to the jewelry/cigar store. Great hand rolled cigars and beautiful Larimar jewelry. Suggestions: Use Dominican Currency instead of us. You are better off using Dominican however tipping with a dollar bill is certainly acceptable. Buy fruit/vegetables from the local guy with the vegetable truck. Have a Mojito at the one of the beach bars! Go to the large supermarket in town to stock up for the week. The cab fare is around $30.00 round trip. Use the small grocery store within walking distance for anything else you need during the week. Take a beach towel - as the condo does not have them and they are not readily available. Speak Spanish, even if its minimal - it goes a long way! Just a few negatives: We are sheet snobs and found the inexpensive bed linens irritating. We recommend Brenda to do a complete purge of left over personal items. We can not wait to go back and highly recommend this vacation paradise!

“Can't beat the view”

Reviewed 12 Mar 2013

You can't beat the location and view of this wonderful condo. From the time I spoke with the owner, David Taub, until the last day of our trip, it was an excellent experience. Mr. Taub immediately put us in touch with the property manager, Brenda, who took care of all the details, including getting transportation to and from the airport. The cab driver Felix was great. Upon our arrival at the condo, we were greeted by Brenda and Marcus, who helped us get settled in. The condo was neat and spacious. The view from the balcony was unbelievable. You could take post card like photos all day from there. The cool ocean breeze kept us comfortable. You walk out of the condo, right onto the beech. You are within walking distance to several great restaurants and beach bars. Water activities and booze cruises are right up the beach. We loved our vacation and will most definitely return. There are only 2 negative things that I can say about the place. First, which didn't bother me, there is a bar right next to the condo that would get a little loud at night. Second, you have an army of "barkers" on the beach that try to get you into the bars and shops. We got good at fending them off. However, that is an issue anywhere there and out of the control of the condo owner. There is security all around to make sure it doesn't get out of hand. I highly recommend staying here for everything it has to offer. No all inclusive can beat what you have here. If my kids are lucky, I might bring them next time.

“Fantastic on the beach getaway!!!”
