“Luxury in the mountains”
Not being used to unbridled luxury, my three kids and I, together with our 4 friends had a superb experience at Jon Law's roomy chalet in argentiere. It could not be closer to the Grand Montet lift so no struggling with skis and poles to get on up the mountain. The price you pay for that is being on the edge of the carpart which is not so romantic, but, hey, when the snow is everywhere it all looks beautiful. Actually we were right at the end of season so the snow had receded from around the chalet but you can't have everything. The sun was incredibly bright and hot, blue sky, pure white mountains. Of course this meant the lower runs were somewhat slushy so we kept high. The chalet has every luxury and amenity you could wish for.The kids stripped off after an energetic days skiing and spent hours chatting happily in the hot tub located on the balcony. Top cuisine every dinner time with more than enough wine; gorgeous cooked and continental breakfasts, cake to die for every tea time. Crisp bed linen and plenty of towels and robes. Jon and Jenny could not have been more helpful and friendly, as were Ivan and Mimmi, the chef and assistant.
We had a great week at Marmotte Mountain. We were an extended family group of 6 adults and 4 kids, coming from three different places, and Jon made the whole experience extremely easy. We had 100 questions, which he answered patiently. Once there, we were very well looked after by our hostess and chef. I have never eaten so well in my life (thanks Ivan). They were very flexible in driving us to and from various ski hills, including Courmayeur. Octavio, our ski guide for two days, was also amazing. We were so lucky to have him show us the mountain (safely). My 6 and 9 year old kids loved it. Being able to walk steps to the Grands-Montets lift was a luxury. Overall, it was an excellent experience. The only negative was the location of the dining room (dark basement) so we ate in the kitchen, which was just fine.
Fantastic chalet, delicious food, great staff. All run by Jon Law who knows the mountains like the back of his hand.
“Best skitrip ever!”
We were picked up at the airport by one the Chalets crew. When we arrived at the Chalet I was taken by the looks of it. Inside it was perfect for us. We were 8 men from Norway. The Chalet and the crew made this trip to a magic experience. They provided a fantastic skiguide when we went to Courmayor for off-piste. This is the second time on a row that we hire a Chalet from Jon Law. Best Chalet I have ever been in!
Excellent services from the staff makes us (group of 10) going back year after year. Very convenient with pick up at the airport and excellent dinner waiting at the Chalet. The Chalet is amazing with stunning view, nice rooms and bathrooms. Location excellent with "ski in / out" and walking distance to nearby bars and restaurants. Only remark is the size and quality of the Sauna and outdoor jacuzzi (should be bigger due to the size of the chalet and the group of 10). Great staff, great food, great location. All in all highly recommended.
“Magnificent chalet with superb location”
This chalet will definetely not let you down. The cooking is at its finest, the comfort excellent and the service is very very good. We really enjoyed our stay both this year and last year, and would absolutely recommend this rental to others.
“An experience to remember!”
Our 2nd stay here and we were not disappointed. The last time was during the summer but I wasn't prepared to be so blown away the 2nd time round. The service was top class, great food and wine, the location is perfect, perched under Grand Montet, you just put on your skis and off you go, to the one if the most mesmerizing slopes in argentiere. The chalet itself is so beautiful, under floor heating ensured its cosiness matched the beautiful architecture within, complemented by breathtaking views, simply flawless comfort, a real treat!!! I will certainly be back next year, the owner ensures your stay is unforgettable, so warm and friendly, I couldn't recommend this place more!!!
“Amazing Chalet and Staff with the Ski Lift Just Outside”
I have stayed in several chalets in several deferent ski areas and the accommodations at Chalet - Argentiere rank at the top. This chalet will not be forgotten due to its breathtaking views from the bedrooms, living room, and outdoor jacuzzi. Ivan and Kristen, our host for the week in the Chalet, provided a wealth of information about the local area and incredible meals and snacks to meet the dietary needs of each member in my party. Specifically, I have a gluten intolerance and a friend of mine is a vegetarian allergic to onions. Ivan and Kristen had no problems with these constraints and managed to provide a culinary work of art at each meal that is typically reserved for fine dining at highly rated restaurants. The spaciousness of the chalet was more than anyone could ask for. There was plenty of room and benches in main entrance for strapping on gear and preparing for a glorious day on the slopes. All of the bedrooms had more than enough space and all had gorgeous view of the Chamonix mountains. The chalet is in a great location for beginners, with a bunny slope within walking distance, and perfect for advanced skiers, with a lift located just outside of the chalet. The chalet is also less than 100 meters from the bus stop to gain access to everything in the Chamonix valley.
“A little bit of heaven!”
If Carlsberg did ski holidays this would be how they would do them. You are greeted by a team who run the chalet seamlessly, you feel like you're staying in a real home from home. A friendly, relaxed and very professional crew guide you to the best pistes each day, provide suggestions for on mountain lunches and ferry you around as required. The food provided in the chalet was Michelin star quality - squid carpaccio - heaven sent, it was just excellent, we were wined and dined and fed like kings & queens! We barely had to roll out of bed to arrive at the ski lifts, no lugging gear around. I look forward to the next trip and a huge thanks to Jon, Ivan, Kirsten, Gerry & Rhiannon who made this trip better than any I have ever been on. Nic & Col
“Fabulous from beginning to end...”
Service was impeccable and friendly. Pick ups from the airport and the slopes and the ski rental shops were easily organised. Staff were very friendly and happy to do anything for you or advise on anything but were also unobtrusive when preparing dinner for example- a difficult combination to get right but they were spot on. They brought us each day to the best location for skiing based on the weather forecasts. Chalet was gorgeous, very comfortable and well stocked with anything you could want. Views were truly spectacular and the hot tub after a hard day's ski was very welcome! A minute's walk from the slopes too which was great on the first day, as we were itching to get up there. . House wines were delicious and great quality, as there was no hangover after over-indulging in one too many! And the food that Ivan cooked was spectacular, so tasty whether he was making breakfast or afternoon tea or unusual dinners! Magic came from that kitchen!! All recommendations for food outside the chalet were spot on too. In particular, Jon organized a drive into Courmayeur where we went up the gondola, were greeted with champagne before our chaffers (Italians on skidoos) brought us up the slope to be greeted by a trail of flares, more champagne and a fabulous authentic Italian meal in a charismatic restaurant. Memories will remain forever of this fabulous skiing holiday and Jon and his team helped make them all, thank you! I'd be back next week if I could afford it. Instead I'll say à bientôt!
