“Felt so at home”

This is a wonderful base if you are visiting Edinburgh. The apartment is beautifully decorated, comfortable and fantastically located. We loved looking out onto Edinburgh Castle. Thank you to Kitty for such a warm welcome and for the opportunity to enjoy Edinburgh from this lovely place. We hope to return soon.

“A brilliant place to stay”

The owner, Kitty, was the most fantastic person to deal with. My travel plans changed significantly at short notice, but Kitty was flexible and gracious. The apartment is really everything that it is described as and all the reviews so far are accurate. Everything in the apartment is quality and beautiful. No expense has been spared. I stayed with my mother, so she took the bedroom and I used the sofa bed in the lounge... the sofa bed is much better than I expected, of solid construction with a sprung surface (as such, this apartment can easily accommodate three people.) Some reviews have mentioned the stairs and it's true that this would be a problem for some, but my mother is disabled and walks with a stick, and she managed them without problems because they're not very steep at all. The location of the apartment is also excellent; the castle is right next to it, grassmarket is about a 5 minute walk, princes street is 10 minutes walk, and a tour bus leaves from right outside. I will definitely be a returning customer.

“fantastically located and appointed to the highest of standards”

Kitty was wonderful from first enquiry to close of play!Nothing was too much trouble for her. She settled us in, made sure we were happy with everything. The flat was of the highest standard; very well appointed too. We wanted for nothing. The only fact I hadn't thought to enquire about was the stairs to the flat - 3rd floor(no lift). However, the stairs were deep with hand rail so by taking it slowly we managed perfectly. We are planning our next trip back soon - The local taxi service was terrific too which thanks to Kitty's information served us all weekend. So very close to the castle you can see it out of the sitting room window fabulous! very close to Grass Market and on top of the farmers market Saturdays. Princess Street a walk away through the park (we took a taxi though). Lovely Italian restaurant two doors up the road, a lovely patisserie across the road and just beyond Sainsbury's. The boutique shops around Grass Market towards Royal Mile lovely with quirky café called Oink! serves Hog Roast rolls with Haggis and apple sauce (a must)!!!

We felt at home really quickly testament to how comfortable the flat was, the bed was fabulous and peaceful, with everyhting you needed in the kitchen and bathroom. The views of the castle made it really special we will return

We were made very welcome by Kitty when we arrived at Castle Terrace. The apartment is very comfortable and well equipped with a great view of the castle from the lounge windows. Edinburgh has plenty to see and do and there is plenty of local information and maps in the apartment to help plan your stay. We would like to return at some point in the future to do all the things that we didn't have time to do during this visit and would definitely stay at Castle Terrace again.

We had a delightful stay. The apartment is charming, in a perfect location that is convenient to almost everything, and it has an incredible view of the castle. We sat on the sofa and watched the fireworks over the castle on our last night.The owner was attentive and knowledgeable about the local scene as well as elsewhere in Scotland. As it is two flights up, not for those with problems walking. Otherwise you couldn't do better!

We stayed here for 4 nights over the final weekend of the Edinburgh festival. The apartment was a delightful oasis during a very busy trip. It is beautifully appointed , lacking nothing that we could think of ! Kitty has been a pleasure to deal with, and I hope we'll be able to return.

This apartment just has to be experienced at least once in your lifetime. Fab Furnishings, Décor, Kitchen, Bathroom facilities: all wonderful and helped to make our short stay in Edinburgh an absolute pleasure. You could stand at the window and admire the view of the castle for hours on end! Don't change a thing Kitty as it was all perfect.

“Excellent, city centre appartment”

All round excellence. Best greeting from any appartment let owner we have had, a great introduction with all the info we needed and more. Lovely well appointed appartment in the heart of the area we wanted to be in, walking distance (some would need bus or taxi) of the railway station, the castle, Grassmarket and the Royal Mile. Short walk down to Princes Street Gardnens. If staying on a Saturday, don't miss the Farmers Market, by far the best range of produce we have seen at one. No dislikes it was just what we required for a long weekend stay and more. No lift so not suitable for those with mobility problems, but this is made clear on booking.

“Cosy and well-equipped apartment for short/long stay”

View: impeccable view of the Edinburgh Castle from the living room with no obstruction Location: situated comfortably under the hillside of the Castle away from the main streets of Grassmarket/Lawnmarket (but yet within walking distance); supermarket within 3-min walk which opens until 11pm; a decent Italian restaurant right downstairs and a few nice restaurants (a Scottish and a Thai place) on the nearby Johnston Road. Utilities/Amenities: living room with warm ambience; spacious bedroom for two and optional sofa bed (easy to operate) in the living room for additional guest; kitchen is fully equipped with sufficient cooking/dining ware (especially useful for long stay) and a dishwasher; the washing machine frees you from the hassle of going to the laundry; bathroom is newly renovated but I would say the shower could be more powerful. Also, visitors with heavy luggages should be aware that there is no lift so will need to climb some stairs to the third floor; love the collection of guides and books about the city provided which help plan/reflect on your trip. Price: very reasonable
