“Fantastic holiday in Willow cottage”

Reviewed 7 Dec 2013

We stayed in Willow cottage for one week in November. The cottage was great, very clean and tidy, extremely well equipped and cosy. The location is excellent, there is walking and cycling on the doorstep and beaches and pleasant Newton Stuart only a few minutes drive away. Katrina, our host was really helpful and made our stay a real pleasure. Willow cottage is definitely on our return-to list

Response from the owner So glad you enjoyed your stay at Willow Cottage, and we will look forward to perhaps welcoming you again in the future. Thanks Katrina

“Beautiful holiday on Willow Cottage”

Reviewed 7 Nov 2013

We were welcomed to the cottage with tea, coffee and biscuits after our journey. The owners are very helpful. Willow Cottage is super equipped and has a beautifully decorated garden. The landscape now in the autumn was very colorful and invites for walking and cycling.

Response from the owner Hi, Thanks for your kind comments, we really do appreciate them. Thanks also for posting the lovely photo. Katrina

“Excellent "away from it all" holiday”

Response from the owner Thank you for leaving a review, we really do appreciate all feedback. Katrina

“Fantastic cottage - highly recommended!”

Reviewed 6 Oct 2013

Most self-catering holiday cottages we have stayed in feel just like that - a cottage set up for people coming on holidays, with just enough of everything to get by - 4 plates, 4 mugs, etc etc. Willow Cottage feels more like you're "borrowing" someone's home for a week - in the nicest possible way, it's homely, very comfortable, and has everything you could possibly need. The kitchen is as well equipped as your own, with loads of crockery, cooking utensils and dishes; the dining room can also be used as a games room for the kids (there's an extra TV in there for playing Dvd's and the (supplied) Wii), and the main lounge is spacious and has a lovely comfortable leather settee. WiFi is available and free, and there's also a phone which can be used free of charge for landline phone calls, as mobile reception in the area is pants. For dog owners, the cottage has laminate flooring so you don't have to worry too much about doggy paw prints, but there are also lots of rugs for tired dogs to lie down on. The enclosed garden is perfect for dogs and their owners alike. Location-wise, the cottage is just off the main a75 but feels like it is miles out in the country - it's in the Galloway Dark Skies forest, so the stars on a clear night are just amazing. There is easy access to the Mull of Galloway in the west, and Castle Douglas and Dumfries to the East. Now if they could just sort out the weather, I would give it 11/10!

Response from the owner Many thanks for your review. We enjoy spending time at the cottage ourselves and are delighted that you too found the cottage homely and comfortable. We really do strive to provide facilities that will make your holiday as enjoyable as possible. Fingers crossed for sunshine if you manage to visit again in the future. Thanks again.

“A first class relaxing getaway”

Reviewed 17 Nov 2012

This stylishly furnished cottage has the most fabulous views and is set in a beautiful and quiet area of South West Scotland. Only a 5 minute drive from Newton Stewart which has supermarkets, takeaways, restaurants and shops. The utility room was useful and the whole cottage was super clean and tidy with a real home from home feel. We loved how it was dog friendly and look forward to going back.

“Relaxing and Quiet”

Reviewed 17 Nov 2012

Great location - Very well presented and nice to settle into a relaxing atmosphere. Well placed to get to various attractions. All amenities you need are a car ride away in Newton Stewart. If you love the outdoors this is an ideal base - with a centre pretty much on your doorstep for cycling or walking.

“Clean, comfortable and very well equipped cottage.”

Reviewed 12 Nov 2012

Willow Cottage is a very well maintained and equipped cottage and is very comfortable and very clean. It has fantastic views and plenty of wild life. Although it is only a few moments away from the main Newton Stewart road it is extremely quiet and peacefull. We were welcomed with a lovely home baked cake and a bottle of wine. We could easily have stayed for a month. I will definately book again.

“Superb peaceful location and very comfortable accommodation.”
