“Where you leave the world behind....”
Stayed at the Lodge...Spectacular views, very clean, meticulously landscaped, beautifully appointed accommodations. was only there for an overnight to attend a wedding, but am definitely going back for a longer stay to just relax by the pond or hang out on the deck under the tree looking at the views. You can see for miles. And have a campfire at night! Just can't say enough about how nice the owners are. Tucked away in the beautiful Vermont hills, this is the place to relax and leave the world behind. Already have several friends who are planning to go there soon.
“A Place Like No Other”
It is truly amazing how great this log cabin and its surroundings are. The owners, Lisa and Keith are exceptional people who just want to share what they enjoy, day to day, with others. This trip was a surprise birthday weekend for my boyfriend and he was in complete awe when we arrived to the cabin. The twin cabins are right across from a natural spring lake, which is equipped with a swimming line and tubes to float and relax. The way this location is maintained is phenomenal. Lisa does all the cleaning and Keith takes care of the landscaping. This couple truly is trying to make the best of "home sweet home" for their guests. Although my boyfriend and I only spent the weekend we surely enjoyed every moment. The fact that we got to enjoy both mornings waking up to nothing but birds chirping and the still, crisp air is something that needs to be experienced. We said it all throughout our stay, right after we unpacked to the moment we packed up the car to head home, we will most certainly be coming back to this serene place VERY soon and even plan to bring more people, so that they too get the experience. p.s. Each cabin has a journal for all guests to write in. It truly is wondrous how many people have come to visit and from how far they have come. Lisa and Keith sure do love to know just how their guests enjoyed themselves.
“5th time coming back and it is still perfect”
We look forward to coming back year after year. It is like a home away from home except you get to enjoy the peace and quiet surrounded by nature. For anyone who hasn't been to these beautiful cabins, we highly recommend it.
“I loved this place!”
I would have liked to have stayed in one of the cabins, but since I needed access to the Internet (I was taking a class at nearby Vermont Law School.), I stayed in the ground floor of the main building, where Wi-Fi is available at no charge. The owners, Lisa and Keith, live above, and they're a delightful couple. I don't have any criticisms, so I'll just list the highlights. The place is beautiful, with great views of the Green Mountains all around, large rooms, and a full kitchen with all new appliances (they seemed new, anyway). I was too busy with classes and studying to swim in their beautiful pond, but I did make time to hike a bit every day on the trail through the woods that links the two cabins with the main building. The sunsets and sunrises were stunning and there's a deep peace that's pervasive here. Good people, good place. You can't go wrong!
“Paradise . . .found !”
My gosh, step back in time. Sharp, clean, sunlit cozy cottages with modern amenities and old world charm. I expected a lot and was surprised by even more. A clean, cool spring-fed lake, (with a swimming lane !) and tadpoles and salamanders, yet two tiny clean sandy beach portions. Refreshing ! Mountain views, serenades by birds and peepers morning and night, great skies and stars, charming villages of Royalton and South Royalton down the hill for cool crunchy co-op filled with local produce and goods. Woodstock and Quechee are a hop and a skip away, and Hanover is under 45 minutes. But if you want to hide, go slow, and be pampered this is it. Clean towels, cute cookies and chocolates, TV (who needs it) full kitchen, great bathroom with slick shower... I could go on. We loved it and we'll go again. Five days and Four blissful nights with a bonfire on the last one. Lisa and Keith are clever, gracious, fun, funny and kind - solid mountain folk with their feet on the ground. No negatives, boundless positives.
“Quaint, Beautiful, Clean, and Very Unique”
A cozy departure from run of the mill hotels, inns, and home/cabin rentals available in VT. The lodging was immaculate, but warm and inviting...as were the property owners (Keith & Lisa). My wife and I have stayed at this cabin 4 times in the last 5 years and we always leave wanting more. As parents of 3 young kids, it's a brilliant escape from the rigors of everyday life. There's also plenty of boutique shopping, local eateries, and outdoor activities (Winter & Summer) to enjoy. Two big thumbs up!
My girlfriend and I had a great trip to twin cabins. It was so beautiful and relaxing. We are going to come back for sure again. We loved the trip and cant wait to go back.
Response from the owner Thank you for allowing us to host your romantic Valentine's week end with your sweetheart in our cabin!
“No words can describe!!”
I received great reviews from my sister who stayed 2 years ago with her boyfriend so I decided to give as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. We both have never been to VT nor did we stay in a cabin. We were both thrilled on how clean, warm and cozy the cabin was. From the decorations to all the amenities we needed. We arrived Friday evening, grabbed some supplies in town about 5 minutes away and had a quick dinner. Saturday was spent indoors watching movies in our pj's and relaxing due to the rainy weather but also that is what we really wanted to do. At night I made reservations at Simon Pearse Restaurant in Queeche about 15 minutes away and it was delish! Sunday we woke up early and decided to hike the area a little, play in the snow, and see the neighbors farm animals. True Vermont fun! We had a blast! Thank you so much and we will be definitely be coming back to see the cabins and Vermont in spring/summer. :) Melissa+Victor.
“Amazingly Relaxing Stay”
If you are looking for peace and relaxation then this cabin should be on the first one on your list. This is perfect place to recharge yourself. I can't not remember a vacation where I was able to rest and sleep so peacefully as I did at Twincabins. The cabin is immaculate and very nicely decorated. You just don't want to leave. This is definitely not our last stay at this cabin and thank you Lisa and Keith for your hospitality.
“Wonderful, welcoming and accommodating”
My girlfriend and I went up to Keith and Lisa's cabins this past New Year's Weekend and stayed through New Year's Eve. We went up to Vermont to just relax into the New Year, and put in a bit of skiing if we had the notion...and the snow cooperated. The whole experience was all we had hoped for and more. Keith and Lisa were wonderful hosts and we really felt welcomed to their very quaint, clean and well-appointed cabin. The property is beautiful and makes for a romantic setting, while it is also very easy to get out and explore the nearby towns, go hiking, grab a drink or have a bite to eat in the nearby restaurants. We went over to Stowe one day for some skiing and it was easy to get over there. What really made it such a great experience we our hosts. To be honest, we were somewhat high maintenance on this trip. Despite their advice to have a four wheel drive vehicle in case of snow, we chanced it with a heavy, rear-wheel drive car, which inevitably caught us stuck in the snow coming home one snowy night. Eventually, we had to abandon trying to dig ourselves out and, somewhat ashamedly, give Keith a call. Rather than giving us the big "we told you so" we surely deserved, he drove down with his truck to rescue us. We had a good chat and a laugh driving back with our host with a good sense of humor and warm ways. If that weren't enough, we were also keen to have a bon fire on New Year's Eve and hinted to Keith about it in a sort of tongue in cheek way. When we got back to our cabin after some exploring about the area on New Year's evening, we found that the fire pit in front of the cabin had been stocked with wood and had a carefully constructed camp fire set up with a Duraflame in the middle for easy lighting. The spent a very cold New Year's Eve toasty warm in front of a roaring bonfire which was a magical way to bring in the New Year. Our heartfelt thanks to Keith and Lisa. We will surely be back and recommend to friends and family.
