“Amazing view, location and value”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2012

We had a terrific experience staying at this condo for 8 nights of our 10 night stay on the Big Island. Our family of four, which included 2 boys (8 and 5), had an amazing trip. Things we loved about this condo: all the boogie boards, coolers, snorkel gear and beach towels that saved us from having to haul or rent everything; the comfortable and large living areas, which allowed for everyone to have their own space; the ocean-front pool, which sometimes my boys were more interested in than the near-by beaches; the ability to get to a lot of great destinations on the island from a pretty central location; and the ability to dine in on occassion, which not only was a money saver, but gave us added time for all our adventures. The sound of the surf, as indicated in other reviews is quite loud from the main bedroom so be prepared for that. Also, the back bedroom did get pretty warm on august nights even with additional fans going, but neither of these things would deter us from booking this condo again in the future! The owner is easy to communicate with and is very helpful.

“A splendid oceanfront experience”

Reviewed 1 Aug 2012

My husband and I and our two young boys, ages 8 and 5, stayed in this delightful ocean-front condo in July. It worked great for the kids! They had their own spacious bedroom, each with their own bed, and we had our own bedroom at the opposite end of the unit with our own private bath. The place was simply breath-taking as well. From the minute you walked in, you felt as though you were right on the water and the ocean was a part of the living room. From the lanai, the boys and I sat spell-bound watching world class surfers ride gigantic waves. At night, sounds of the sea lolled us to sleep. The unit was tastefully decorated and was stocked with just about anything you might need while on vacation and more; i.e., there were more spices in their kitchen than I have in my own at home! They also had a shelf full of snorkeling and beach gear, even gear for my 5-year old and boogie boards- the boys were delighted! Without reservation, we would recommend Banyan Tree (#302) to our friends and family. Enjoy!

“Condo 302 an absolute Gem”

Reviewed 3 Jul 2012

This Condo is an absolute gem! From the pictures you know it is going to be beautiful, but when you see it in person it is simply breathtaking. It has perhaps one of the best views on the Island. I stayed with a group of 6, and the condo had more than enough space. The sliding Shoji screen door to the master bedroom was ideal as it provided privacy at night, but when pushed back during the day gave the condo a spaciousness so that it never feel crowded. The private lanai was my favorite part of the condo and we began and ended each day watching the surfers and sea life which we could see clearly in the water below. We started each day with fresh fruit and Kona coffee we picked up at the local farmers market, a nice morning walk from the condo. The full kitchen had everything- condiments, sandwich and storage bags, all cooking utensils, foil, Tupperware, and most importantly day use coolers-, which made packing lunches a breeze. It was also nice to be able to cook dinners at home while watching the sunset. We met Dana, the resident manager, soon into our trip and she was more then willing to help us with any questions. I am looking forward to our next stay on the Big Island and would recommend the condo to anyone!

“Love this place!!!”

Reviewed 26 Jun 2012

Ahhh...your condo was a little slice of heaven! This recent trip was my 7th visit to the Hawaiian islands (my 1st to Kona though!) and after staying in your condo, I don't ever plan to stay in a hotel again! The simple pleasure of waking up to the sounds of the surf, having coffee out on balcony and watching the surfers, and being able to use your wonderful kitchen made traveling so much easier this year with my kids (twin 5 y/o girls). I was impressed with the cleanliness of the condo and how well it was stocked with beach items - we loved being able to borrow the beach chairs and the noodles! The pool area was so wonderful too, we swam everyday. And the fact that the condo had a washer/dryer meant we each just packed a carry-on since we knew we could wash clothes - much better than paying the $50 fee per bag at the airport!

“Our Vacation at The Banyan Tree #302”

Reviewed 10 Dec 2011

My husband and I took our son, his wife and our 6 yrs old granddaughter to the Big Island on the Kona side, for a 10 day vacation right after Thanksgiving. This condo was great, well appointed, clean, and comfortable, it had everything we needed while away from home, from wifi, TV, VCR and a library of Dvds as well as books. The kitchen was complete with all the needed appliances. All kinds of water toys well enjoyed by all of us. From the Lanai we watched amazing sunsets, surfers, and Dolphins playing in the clear water and even Turtles. The tide pools were loved by our granddaughter who loves all kinds of critters. The condo is well situated close to the restaurants, shops, and the marvelous farmer's market where we bought fresh fruits, and veggies every other day. We are already missing all those Papayas, Mangoes, Pineapples and beautiful lettuce and tomatoes. Really staying at this place all you need is your clothes, bathing suits, suntan lotion and lots of money to experience all the great attractions available on the Island, or just relax at home, enjoy the pool, hot tub, and snorkel right in front of this great place. Mahalo Janice for all your help! The Scott-Glover Family

“Beautiful Condo at 302 Banyan Tree Big Island”

Reviewed 27 Jul 2011

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful apartment on the Big Island. It was so clean and comfortable with everything thought of. There was even some food to tide us over when we first arrived before we had a chance to do any food shopping. Later we even took the owner's advice to eat at Lava Java and bought papaya at the Farmer's Market. The apartment is right by the sea as the pictures indicated. The sound and view of the sea were simply spectacular. Everyday we watched the surfers right in front of us doing their stunts. There were some really good ones. We also took the surf boards, beach towels and toys provided by the owner to go swimming and surfing at the Beach Park not far from the apartment. The owner Janice was always very helpful and prompt with her replies when initially we had some problems with the booking and some other questions. Only wish we could have stayed longer.

Response from the owner We are glad Mimmie had such a great stay! We want to clarify that we provide boogie boards, we don't have any surfboards, although you can rent them right next door at Millers.

“Great Place to Stay”

Reviewed 1 Jul 2011

We loved the condo. It was clean, well stocked with everything we needed for the beach, snorkeling, great guide book, food prep in the kitchen, nice beds and decor, plus it overlooks the Banyan surf spot. We would sit on the lanai drinking our Kona coffee in the mornings watching the surfers and boogie boarders, then at the end of the day we would sit there and watch the sun set as we had a drink or ate dinner. The view was amazing. The condo was centrally located to the town and the main roads and highways and we never got lost. Best vacation we've had. Would definitely go back.

“Great Christmas Vacation”

Reviewed 29 Dec 2010

We spent a wonderful week at the Banyon Tree condos, #302 over Christmas. The condo is beautifully updated and remodeled. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the location right on the ocean. We loved going to sleep to the sound of crashing waves and waking up to hear the surfers already out in the ocean in the morning. Sunsets were incredible. The condo is equipped with a washer/dryer, a full kitchen of appliances and everything you need to take to the beach; including boogie boards, coolers, snorkel gear, towels, chairs and an umbrella. Fishing gear too. We would love to stay there again!
