“Exactly What We Hoped For”

Reviewed 18 Sep 2013

I wanted somewhere near St Davids that I could celebrate a big birthday with 6 members of my family. Clegyr Boia turned out to be an excellent choice. The perfect location to drive, cycle or walk to points along the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline,or to visit the shops, restaurants etc in nearby St Davids. The house is tastefully furnished, very well equipped and has everything a family needs for a holiday. A valued addition for us was the table tennis, from sunset until very late this proved to be a winner for the whole family. Last but not least, I'd like to thank Jan Eliott for the personal touches such as a birthday card, wine and some lovely Welsh Cakes !!

Response from the owner Dear Harry and Chris, Thank you for your kind review. Delighted that your stay at Clegyr Boia Farmhouse was enjoyable. It is a lovely property and gives us much pleasure to know that others enjoy it too. Thank you for coming. we hope to see you again sometime. Kind regards, Jan

“Wonderful beyond our expectations!”

Reviewed 11 Jul 2013

Our family spent a week in late June in the Clegyr Boia Farmhouse. There were multiple places in the house for our family to gather, but we primarily congregated in the kitchen and the lovely conservatory/sunroom off the kitchen. Plenty of pots, pans, dishes, etc. for cooking meals. Everything (stove, oven, dishwasher, washer, dryer) was in top working order and easy (even for americans!) to figure out how to work! The farmhouse is about a mile (walking) from St. Davids. The walk is very easy...take the path across from Ramsey Gardens off Catherine Street. We walked to town and back several times with no problems at all. The house is about 1/2 mile from the coast and Porth Clais but you can see the sea from the conservatory and the windows from an upper bedroom. We were able to flag down the summer shuttles to take us to various places in the area for hikes. You pay 1 pound per person to ride. It was an excellent way to get around the area without having to take your car. When on vacation in the past, my husband is usually ready to leave about mid-week. This time he actually said it'd be great to stay longer than the week we had planned. A miracle! Beautiful area and wonderful accommodation. Thanks, Jan, for so much attention to details! Welsh cakes, bottle of wine, milk, and my favorite - fresh flowers all over the house! We will be back!

“Wonderful family retreat”

Clegyr Boia is a beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean and wonderfully authentic stone farmhouse, perfectly situated with views to St David's Cathedral and the sea. We have stayed here twice and will most definitely come again. My father-in-law wrote in the comments book: "take all previous comments and times them by 100; that is how much we enjoyed staying here!" - something we all agree with!

Response from the owner Dear Bethan, Thank you for your kind comments. It was lovely to see you all again. Hope to see you again before too long. Best wishes, Jan

“A fabulous farmhouse close to some beautiful beaches”

Reviewed 6 Oct 2012

A great place to stay down a quiet track in a beautiful corner of Pembrokeshire yet only 25minutes walk or < 5 minutes drive into St Davids with its famous cathedral, friendly pubs and one particularly good restaurant (Cwtch). Great for families and because of the twin stair cases which separates one of the bedrooms / bathrooms good for a family plus grandparents. Acres of very comfortable living space with a well equipped kitchen and a conservatory which allows one to enjoy the sun and views down to the sea when its a bit too cold to sit outside. Lots of great walks along the Pembrokeshire coastal path directly from the house and White Sands a fabulous surf beach is only 10 minutes drive.

“A beautiful homely retreat for all ages.”

Reviewed 21 Sep 2012

Clegyr Boia was so much more than we imagined and we (mum, dad, toddler and grandparents!) were all genuinely sad to leave after our week stay. Whilst set back a little from the coast, the farmhouse is blessed with wonderful sea views. The bedrooms are light filled and spacious. The layout is especially practical for families with an open plan kitchen/dining area set away from the upstairs bedrooms to allow the very young, or tired, to sleep without disturbance. The farmhouse has been tastefully renovated and retains loads of interesting original features. And fans of local artist Jackie Morris, will appreciate the beautiful artwork which hangs throughout - what a treat. Thank you Jan and Robin for your informal hospitality and warm welcome.

“Large comfortable cottage on the rugged Welsh coast”

Reviewed 20 Aug 2012

We have spent two weeks in this lovely cottage, and enjoyed every minute. The cottage has a large kitchen, spacious lounge with a log burner , a cosy conservatory, large room with a table and 4 bedrooms. We enjoyed the table tennis table and the country walks to Porth Clais and St. Justinians. Whitesands and Newgale are good beaches within easy reach by car. the narrow roads (with grass growing up the middle) are a challenge to drive along and care and courtesy are needed. Ideal roads for walking.

“Excellent holiday cottage and location”

Very helpful and prompt service from the owners when booking and staying. House very easy to live in with everything a family needs. Lovely conservatory and spacious grounds. Feels very private. St Davids area ideal for active holidays. Walking, swimming, surfing. Kayaking and cycling easily available using the equipment provided by the owners. Wildlife and flora beautiful. Concerts in St Davids Cathedral very enjoyable.

“A lovely private holiday cottage in a wonderful location”

Reviewed 8 Jul 2012

We have been coming to Pembrokeshire for years and years and have stayed in numerous cottages in and around St Davids. Clegyr Boia is in our view the best cottage we have rented in the area. It is a lovely large modernised farmhouse which comfortably sleeps six adults. It has a lovely large kitchen / dining room, a large lounge, a seperate dining room and a conservatory. Outside is a lovely private garden with views over to St Davids and the sea. Jan and Rob are great hosts and they went out of their way to ensure we had a really special holiday.

“Relaxing hideaway in total comfort”

Reviewed 1 Jun 2011

Excellent spacious accommodation for all the family. We loved the quiet location yet within a few minutes cycle ride of St. Davids and all our favourite sections of coast. I liked the privacy of having a bedroom and bathroom a bit separate to the rest of the family, and particularly liked sitting in the conservatory with a cup of tea and a view of the sea when the wind was howling!
