“Very nice house close to one of the main streets”
Dar Jameel is a very nice house (although the stairs are a bit scary) on a great location in the medina of Fes. We stayed there because the guesthouse Dar Houdou wasn't available. And actually, we were very happy with this offer of Steve! We had a complete house for ourselves! We had breakfast (excellent!) at Dar Houdou and the owner Steve was very helpfull with arranging a daytrip and taxi. We really enjoyed staying in Fes at Dar Jameel!
“Perfect location, Beatifully renovated, Spotless, Brilliant.”
My three friends and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the beautiful little ryad, Dar Jameel. The owner Steve pulled out all the stops to make our holiday amazing , starting with the pick up from the airport, organizing our trip out to Volubilis (a must see),dinner out in The Walled Garden and the Family restaurant. He even took us for a sneak peak at an ongoing renovation project etc etc the perfect host, with a great sense of humour. Breakfast every day was superb served at Dar Houdou, another gem to stay in.We all throughly enjoyed our stay at Dar Jameel it was so great to have the whole place to ourselves.
“We loved that apartment in the old medina”
Well really enjoyed our apartment inside the ancient medina of FES... nice furnitures, tiles, rooms, lights... a kind of maybe 6/7 different stages from ground floor to the double terrace with a special view over the roofs of Fes. Perfect to us.
“Great time in middle of the medina”
We really enjoyed the stay in the house Dar Jameel. The house is directly located in the medina, so you could explore the medina by walking very easily. The Stuff, Steve and Mohammed were really helpful all the time. They organized an airport pick up, which waited four hours for us, because our flight was late. I think thats pretty impressful. The house was very clean and had everything to offer, what you can imagine, really great. The roof top terrasse was amazing, with a view over the whole city. So i could definitly recommand to stay in this house. Thanks to Steve and Mohammed for the great stay
Grazie Steven, grazie Mohamed!
“Right In The action.”
Our time in Fez was truly wonderful as our house was right in the medina and thus no travel was necesaary to get straight into the action. On the other side , you could return to your home and escape into the tranquility. A fabulous location and wonderful personal welcome and care.
“Fez Medina - solace and”
Host Steven Peterson manages to remain attentive to his guests without being smothering. He was the perfect combination of host and intermediary, both professional and personal; staying out of our hair but being present and available as needed. I can't imagine a more perfect host for my first visit to Fez. The house, Dar Jameel suited 3 independent women (3 bedrooms) quite well, although one bedroom was more of a spare; we mostly used the other two. Top bedroom can be hot and needs some management (closing shutters, running fans) in order to stay coolish, but I got some great writing done there. The terrace is a lovely place to hang out in the evening or at dawn. Not the cheapest place to stay I'm sure, but well worth it, and the relative comfort rating has to do with the heat of Fez, not with Dar Jameel itself. Convenient, friendly, nurturing.
“A different World”
This is a wonderful place to stay in the medina.Entering the house is like entering a different world. All creature comforts are there but there is also the design and feel of a Moroccan house. Stairs are steep but worth the climb to the terrace which is a great place from which to watch the sun set. Mohammed is an excellent manager and able to give you all the necessary advice. Don't miss a trip to Volubilis.
Dar Jameel is located inside the medina, so it is very convenient to explore the whole medina on foot. We (a group of 4 friends) were there in May 2012 and there is no need for air-con since the place is quite cool. Free fast wifi and towels are provided. There's a washing machine, laundry powder, and even fabric softener. We enjoyed the privacy of renting the whole guesthouse, especially the roof top space where we can enjoy the fresh air. Our guesthouse is built with little tiny steps, so if you are travelling with big luggages, we recommend you to stay at the main property Dar Houdou where good hearty breakfast is served (10 mins walk). The place is clean and not far from major attractions in the medina. The owner Steven is very helpful. The service is well organised. Inaddition, Steve kindly allowed us to keep the house till late evening since our bus to Merzouga leaves at night.
“Dar Jameel is just great!”
We stayed 5 nights in this lovely renovated house. Dar Jameel is a very clean, good located and its very quiet. Steve and his staff were very helpful and nice. I can highly recommend it! Thank you so much, we had a great stay!
