“Appartement de charme dans une belle copropriété”

Reviewed 7 Jul 2014

“Lovely surprise!”

My husband and I have visited Paris several times but this is the first time we stayed in the Montmartre district. We loved it, particularly Priscilla's charming flat. Conveniently located to Les Fourches Metro, this neighbourhood is a little bit off the beaten path but feels very vibrant and still very much Parisian! We walked to Sacre Coeur from here and one day even walked back from Notre Dame. We loved coming "home" to Priscilla's. Her well equipped kitchen (North American standards, so everything you need!) served us well to make dinner and relax in the evenings. The setting in the gated, cobbled courtyard is spectacular and in the morning you only have to roll out of bed a few meters to the boulangerie right outside the from gate for your croissants. Priscilla was a pleasure to deal with and prompt to reply.

“Everything we wanted in an apt. and more”

Reviewed 23 Jun 2014

This is a lovely ground-floor apartment overlooking a sunny, gated Parisian courtyard complete with trees and flowering plants. We've stayed on Rue Cler and found it overrun with tourists. We wanted to experience a more authentic Paris. We found it. The warm neighbors, the scrumptious bakery next door, and the proximity to public transit also enhanced our stay. The decor is warm, comfortable and inviting--in contrast to the many sterile apartments that we have seen listed on the internet. It feels like a home. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would return in a heartbeat.

“We had a great stay!!”

Reviewed 21 Oct 2013

My wife and I and our 4 year-old stayed her for 10 days in October. This was our first time renting an apartment, and I would never do anything but rent a place for our next trip. Priscilla made everything very easy for us. She answered all our questions before we left, and she sends very complete information for your stay (except about where to put the trash! :) ). The flat is small, but feels bigger. The `bedroom' is separated from the mail living area by a room divider. There is sufficient privacy, even if you were to be traveling with non-family members. Priscilla has found clever ways to make use of the space. We never really felt cramped. There is a TV that we never used, a CD player with an excellent jazz CD in it!!, and plenty of books to read, including Paris and France guidebooks. The god-send was the kitchen. We had all our breakfasts in. There are 2 grocery stores within 2 mins of the house. There are 2 bakeries close, one just outside the gates of the building. The kitchen is well equipped and easy to use. We saved a fortune not having to buy breakfast. There is even a dishwasher (there is also a washing machine...but no dryer). I loved making my coffee in the morning. I need to get one of those electric kettles! The wifi worked perfectly, and it kept us in touch. There is a metro station within a couple of mins of the flat, as well as a bus stop. While the flat is not in the main tourist area of Paris, we could be almost anywhere we wanted to be (Louvre, Luxemburg gardens, etc.) within 10-15 mins. Plus, there are some very interesting bistros in the area around the flat, especially near Place Clichy, which is a 10 min walk from the flat. If you want to save some money, have a more authentic Parisian experience by being in a locals neighborhood (very safe.. on a main street) and save some money, this is an excellent choice.

“Charming apartment, Great Neighborhood”

Reviewed 4 Jul 2013

I just returned from my stay and wish I could return. This apartment has everything you could need. The charming furnishings show Priscilla's love of this place. It doesn't feel like a generic rental apartment. Everything you could possibly need is withing walking distance; restaurants, markets and the wonderful patisserie right next door with an incredible array of sweets and breads. The neighbors in this community are friendly and helpful and always said hello or stopped to chat. The sites of Paris are a short metro or taxi ride and it was wonderful to be able to escape the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas to return to a peaceful sanctuary. On my next trip to Paris, I will definitely be checking availability here first. You won't be disappointed.

“Just perfect!”

Reviewed 14 Jun 2013

We stayed for four nights and really couldn't fault a thing. The location was perfect for us with the metro station just at the top of the road which we used daily, getting to all the sites within 15-30 minutes. We found getting from CDG airport easy, using the Roissy bus and a taxi. There is everything you could need in the surrounding streets, supermarket across the road and another at the top. A boulangerie just outside the courtyard selling tasty pain aux raisin and all manor of tempting cakes and breads. We ate out for most of meals but did cook in once. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, pans and crockery. We slept really well as the bed is so comfortable and the apartment so quiet. We also felt safe as access to the courtyard of apartments is via a secured gate which was always locked by passcode. After a long day out a bath was a fantastic treat for our aching legs, most apartments have a shower only, this had both. Priscilla was so helpful with lots of helpful information from getting from the airport to providing detailed information about the apartment. We took our iPads and made use of the wifi facility. A great bonus, especially as we thought our flight home might be cancelled, we were able to contact Priscilla to ask if it would be possible to extend our stay if needs be. We hope to return to Paris again soon and will have no hesitation in staying in this apartment. Many Thanks Priscilla.

“A wonderful retreat”

I stayed in this apartment for 4 weeks over October '12. The apartment is welcoming, very comfortable with a great kitchen to use for those nights when we came home and decided to stay put, I might also add that it was well stocked. Loved the fact there were lots of books on Paris and the surrounds as well as a collection of cards of recommended resturants. The area the apartment is in is extremely interesting, very easy access to the underground and buses, gret walks, great resturants.

“A home in Paris.”

Reviewed 27 Sep 2012

This was a very comfortable, quiet stay for me, the apartment was perfectly located away from the noise and tourist crowds but close enough to everything it was a welcome site after a long day in the beautiful Paris streets . I came to Paris as a young film student for the first time and the neighbors we very helpful also the neighborhood was perfect for an introduction to Paris everyday life.Definitely would stay again.

Response from the owner Thank you, Ryan, for such a thoughtful review.

“A welcome home feeling ...”

Reviewed 12 Jul 2012

After a day in the urban whirlwind of Paris -- beautiful though it is at every moment -- I was relieved to go through the large gate into a peaceful courtyard to a quaint, homey appartment. The place is fully equipped with every amenity you'd want. You feel like it's yours and yet unlike a hotel or B&B;, it is like you're staying in a friend's apartment. The location couldn't be better - I bought a 3-day metro pass and went everywhere I needed within minutes from the apartment. I typically got a pastry from the bakery next door (a ten!) and taught a local vendor to understand what I needed for american coffee - some hot water added in. I particularly enjoyed the Barclay/sp Cafe which had a youthful vibe and excellent food a block away. The service was smooth and simple. Neighbors were sweet, friendly and informative. Overall, the place provides a great respite from a busy day in Paris, excellent transportation connections and full amenities within a nice setting.

Response from the owner What a lovely review! I thank you and like that you expressed so well what I hope guests will experience. Many thanks, Priscilla

“Unique Paris stay for Muslims...”

9 - 16 June 2012 I got this place at the last minute. What I wanted is a working washer and kitchen but surprisingly I got more than I expected. The setting is impressive despite the space. It fits the three of us nicely. The bed is comfy and enough hangers in the wardrobes. The wireless Wifi is excellent. The warmers are excellent located both in the bathroom and in the living room space. My wife appreciates the warmness of the unit. There are nearby supermarkets and Halal groceries shops. It is convenient to obtain kebabs and Halal "KFC" especially for the children.Environment is clean and neighbours are very friendly and helpful. They willingly offer advice and information on Paris tour.Metro reachable within walking distance and buses are directed to heart of Paris. You can reached there in 10 mins.app. Appreciates more bath towels. We will definitely recommend to our Muslim friends and hope to come back again in future.
