“Great Location”

Reviewed 3 Jan 2015

This place has a great location. It is off Wawona Rd, across from the road to Badger Ski Pass, and a few miles from tunnel view and the valley. Its a room in a large two story building with several other rooms on each floor. They took the time to ensure our room had all the essentials; pots, pans, utensils, spices, coffee, sugar, creamer, coffee filters, etc. They even had several board games and dvds for families to enjoy. The room was very dated but was pretty spacious and had comfortable furniture. The gas fire place was a nice touch and added a great feel to the atmosphere. It had a full bath downstairs and a bathroom with a shower upstairs. They were both pretty small, but we had no problems getting around in them. They had a grill with attached propane tank on the balcony, we didn't use it so I don't know if it works. It was easy to check in because the manager sent us an email with the pass code to get into the room so there was no front desk clerk to deal with. In the email she also recommended where to stop for groceries and what routes to take. Cons: -The room smelled funny. Its hard to describe, but it smelled pretty funky/moldy. You will quickly notice it when you first walk in, but then get use to it after a while. -The internet didn't work the entire time we were there. In the room you can get almost no signal, so you have to walk out into the hall. Once you do get connected you will notice that the router works, you can connect to it wirelessly, but the ISP isn't actually connected/providing service. We tried this for both buildings- Condo A and Condo B. It was also noted in the guest log book that it didn't work during one of the other guest's stay in October. We had no cell service while in the condo either (AT&T) so we had to wait until we got into the park every day to talk to family, check email, etc. It was nice for us to unplug from the world, but I could see where this could pose a problem for some people. -The walls are pretty thin. We didn't hear conversations from the other rooms or anything, but you could hear them playing and laughing. They were probably pretty disheartened to hear our screaming toddler early in the mornings. All in all though, we enjoyed ourselves and would probably stay here again. The location and price makes it pretty hard to beat.
