“Fantastic cabin in the right spot”

Reviewed 15 Sep 2014

My wife and 3 young kids (6 and under) stayed here for 3 nights at the end of August. I have not rented any other rental property that had ALL the touches that this cabin has. It is a smaller cabin but was more than enough room for all of us. The kids bedroom had a bunk as well as toys for them to play with. The master bedroom was a good size and we opened the window each night to hear the rushing creek. The third bedroom was used only for a pack-n-play to be set up but was a good size. There is one bathroom. The kitchen had everything you need (and then lots more) and the living room was cozy with a fireplace that we did not use. The wrap around porch was probably the best. We were out here every morning having coffee and breakfast on the swing and letting the kids play. There is no internet or satellite/cable tv, so we just used our phones while we were out as needed. It's amazing how much talking and playing games you do when disconnected. Location wise, it on the western edge of Maggie Valley, which is where we wanted to be. The last portion of the road to get to the cabin is packed gravel but was not a problem for us or anyone else we saw. Waynesville was nearby (heading east) and Cherokee was close as well (heading west). If you are a couple or a family looking for a great, cozy cabin where you can literally bring your suitcase and be at home, this is the place for you.
