The Friendly Chat Bed and Breakfast is situated in the beautiful Moreton Bay region of Queensland. Come kick up your feet and enjoy our hospitality whether you are visiting family, trying to avoid the crowds or just looking for something different. We are conveniently located only 30 min away from Brisbane City and about an hour's drive to the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast.

In this apartment, you have the choice between two bedrooms - a King/Twin bedroom with its own private bathroom (not ensuite) OR a Queen Bedroom with an ensuite, OR you can book both rooms - your choice. When you book, you get the living area to yourself - no sharing involved! Prices quoted are based on 2 people sharing 1 bedroom.

Your living area consists of a kitchen/dining space and a lounge, all in a spacious open-plan design. This opens onto a covered patio with outdoor dining facilities that look onto a subtropical garden. You have the room to relax & feel a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We can cater for families or groups of up to 4 people. We provide breakfast if you choose or you have the option of self-catering. The garden is yours to use - have a peek at the garden studio, and maybe enjoy a read in its old

world charm that can transport you to another place in time!

Getting around

The train station is close by (2 mins drive or 15 mins walk),offering airconditioned and comfortable train travel on the Cleveland line to the city of Brisbane (40 mins) or to Cleveland (15 mins). If travelling by train, we are happy to pick you up/drop you off at Thorneside station. At Thorneside there is ample parking if you have your own car. We are only about 20mins drive away from Brisbane International and Domestic Airports. If you want a day away at North Stradbroke Island (highly recommended) we can provide you with train, bus and boat links to get you there easily.

At The Friendly Chat we let you make the choices - we live upstairs, so are readily available if you have any questions about the facilities we offer. We have lived in the local area for over 25 years, so have lots of information we can share about places to eat, local attractions and how to get around. Having travelled a lot ourselves, we realise you can make the most of your time by tapping into local knowledge. As travellers ourselves, we also realise it is nice to be left alone if that is your choice. We're always available for a friendly chat if you choose!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I make changes to my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your booking page. To change your dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Chris and Trish (the owner) a message.

If Chris and Trish (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
