Description
Gropparello's mediaeval castle is surrounded by a parkland extended at the sides of Vezzeno torrent's gorges. The suite situated in the castle is suspended above the drawbridge's building .4 romantic rooms plus a bath carved into the rock as a coffer, endowed with a shower-tub with chromo-therapy.

The ancient Fortress, once known as Cagnano Stronghold, is an unsurmountable military unit, it is a typical example of medieval fortress placed in defence of the access to a valley. It’s possible to walk around it and inwards, through the ancient noble rooms, the walls of an ancient kitchen underneath the hall, up to the tower’s terrace to see the beautiful sight .
Gropparello Castle remains one of the complexes that maintain the enchant of medieval fortification, because of the beautiful landscapes it’s set into and of its very particular structure, entirely set into a rock.
In 2014, the Torre del Barbagianni, one of three towers, was restored. Up a steep weathered stair you enter your main bedroom with a pretty wrought-iron four-poster swathed in clouds of muslin. Then a room with a double sofabed (ideal for kids) and a small but spoiling shower room with a view onto the forest. All feels intimate and very romantic, from the living room with its white armoire (big enough to hold a kitchenette) to the polished floors of terracotta. Breakfast – a flexible feast – is accompanied by a panoramic view from the family’s terrace; dinner is equally special. Challenge yourself on treks and trails; follow the verdant cliffside walkways; stroll up to the village to shop or dine; take a tour of the castle.
