““A trip of a lifetime with our new friends at 85 Haussmann!””
5 of 5 starsReviewed 2 weeks ago for a stay in February 2015 My husband and I just returned from our trip to Paris. From start to finish our vacation was wonderful thanks to Marie and Pascal who own and rent their apartment on 85 Haussmann in Paris. The apartment is conveniently located near the bus and Metro. When we arrived, Pascal met us at the airport and accompanied us by bus to the apartment which is in a safe, beautiful area. Marie met us there and gave us a tour of the apartment which was small but clean and modern and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay in Paris. After the tour, Marie took us to lunch where we got aquainted with her, and oriented to the area. Marie offers day trips to all the sights around Paris and if you stay at the apartment you can take some or all of them with her. She has a passion for Paris and vast knowledge about its history. Not knowing the language, we chose to tour with her most of our days there. Each day was a new adventure and as we walked the streets, we felt like we were Marie's friends and not tourists. Pascal joined us on the the night tour by driving to all of the famous illuminated landmarks where we were able to take pictures and admire the romantic scenery. Unfortunately, my husband wasn't feeling well while we were on that tour. Marie and Pascal graciously offered to take us to the hospital and stayed with us there for two hours while my husband saw the doctor. It was very fortunate that they were with us to translate to the medical staff the symptoms my husband was experiencing. We are forever grateful for their help there and through the entire trip. The next morning before a new tour, Marie accompanied us to the medical center to help my husband navigate the office for another test that the doctor required. Without her help (because of the language barrier) it would have been very difficult to find the right office for the test. Following the test, we took my husband back to the apartment and then Marie and I toured for most of the day. At the end of the tour, Marie took both of us back to the medical center to retrieve the results of the test. She really went above and beyond what we expected and treated us like friends or even family. We do owe her our thanks and gratitude. We also took a day tour of the Champagne area where Pascal drove and Marie explained everything about the region. Both the Champagne area and Reims were very beautiful and interesting. The restaurant they chose for lunch was perfect and the food was delicious. Every restaurant Marie chose or suggested was reasonably priced and because I am a vegetarian, she made sure they offered choices for me. Even though Marie and Pascal had to leave Paris because of a last minute family situation, they left us in the competent hands of a friend of the family. Their friend Laetitia took us to Versaille on the train and was a wealth of information about the area. She made sure that our trip was perfect from beginning to end and sought to cater to our every need. It was fun spending the day with her and learning all of the exciting facts about Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI! Laetitia also helped us reschedule a boat cruise that we missed and made sure that we were able to enjoy it on our final night in Paris. The day that we had to depart for home, Laetitia came to the apartment and accompanied us to the bus to the airport. She made sure we got the tickets we needed and that we were on the bus on time for our flight. It really was a relaxing way to end our stay there, knowing we wouldn't get lost or would be late for our flight. We are so happy to have met this lovely family and their friend. We would like to thank them agian for a giving us a trip of a lifetime in Paris! 5 of 5 starsEase of booking 5 of 5 starsDirections to the property 5 of 5 starsKey pickup/access to the property 5 of 5 starsOverall condition 3 of 5 starsQuality of bedding/mattresses 5 of 5 starsKitchen/utensils quality 5 of 5 starsCleanliness of bathroom 5 of 5 starsQuality of facilities/amenities 5 of 5 starsService Liked best: The tours with Marie, Pascal and Laetitia Liked least: Getting sick on the trip (no fault of theirs) Traveling group: Spouse/Partner Would I recommend this vacation rental to my best friend? “Location & unmatched personal service!”
Bonjour, First I'd like to start with how EASY communications were between Marie, Pascal and myself pre-booking. They answered any and all of my questions promptly and completely. The arrive was seamless. My husband and I were greated straight from luggage area by Pascal by his smile and board with our names. He helped us with our bags and brought us straight to the Rossey Bus that would take us to the apartment non-stop. Only 10.5 Euros and quite fast. Marie was then waiting for us at the other end when we exited the bus. She helped us with our bags as well and manuvered us like a pro thru the city streets. When we arrived at our apartment we loved the view. It is higher up so you over look the city streets and the hustle and bustle. While small, it has everything you will need for a short stay. Marie showed us everything and gave us some suggestions as well. The apartment itself while on the smaller side is very clean, well stocked and has two small areas outside. The views are spectacular and the location can't be beat. Close to all transport (minutes from Champs Elysses & Arc de Triomphe) and walking distance to cafe's, sites and bars. Free WiFi and it works good. The check out day was awesome as well. Pascal AND Marie met us at the apartment. They both helped with our luggage again and took us to Sixt rental car station a few blocks away. They stayed with us until we had our car and then greated us Au Reviour as we continued our journey out of Paris and into Normandy and Champagne. They are truly top notch, professional and you will not find two more accomodating and warm hosts in all of France. Most Sincerely, Angie & Dan Novigrod
“Immaculate studio in a great location!”
If you are looking for a little Parisian charm and hospitality then this is perfect. Ease of booking - contacted Marie and booked using a deposit via PayPal. Really easy! Marie was only an email away and sent some really useful information to help plan our trip. Arrival - Marie kindly met us at the station (we got the Eurostar) it makes all the difference to have someone there. We got a bus to the apartment and Marie diligently showed us the flat and surrounding area so we felt settled straight away. Apartment - immaculate with all you will ever need. We wanted somewhere where we could cook or prepare food so we could keep costs down. There was all we ever needed! Perfect! The shower is lovely and great after a long day exploring. The bed is fine. It pulls out very easily and is equally effortless to pack away. I though we would just leave the bed 'down' but it was so easy we just folded it up every night. Location - buses are the best way although there is a metro stop right at the foot of the building we didn't use it. We were a 10 minute walk from Champes-Élysées and about a a half an hour walk to the tower. It feels very safe and there are plenty of amenities nearby. Overall a lovely trip and please don't hesitate to book this lovely little place.
Stayed in this beautiful apartment due to the location and fantastic reviews. Marie was there to greet us on arrival and showed us back to the apartment. Her knowledge of Paris is second to none, and clearly loves her city! The apartment was 5* absolutely immaculate and decorated beautifully! She had taken the time to write down all her recommendations with maps showing you how to get around. We were given a mobile to contact her if we needed anything! There is nothing they haven't thought of. It really was a home away from home! We knew if we needed them for anything they would be happy to help, yet we were not hassled at all, given all the space we needed. Cannot praise this apartment or the owners enough! The location is perfect, the surroundings are classy and elegant and the hosts were fantastic. Thank you so much for making our first trip to Paris the most special one. Will absolutely return!
“This apartment is a gem!”
Having stayed at this apartment enhanced our four day stay in Paris tenfold. The location is fantastic. We could walk every where we wanted to go. All the amenities we needed were in the apartment, to begin our stay. The apt. passes the white glove test, absolutely clean! Marie, the owner becomes a life long friend. Her tours are an absolute must! The tours are personal, knowledgeable and fantastic. Good restaurants are nearby, a supermarket is close by if you want to eat in. We highly recommend her chocolate tour when you arrive. Beside the wonderful places to get sweets, we got a wonderful tour of all the neighborhoods. It oriented us to the city.
“It's a charming, clean space in a great location.”
The apartment is so well designed and, although small, everything is accessible. Well equipped kitchen for cooking needs and a washer/dryer. Two outdoor balconies with excellent view are a fine spot for morning coffee! The location is great: a short walk to the train station, subway stop right out the front door, grocery on street in the same building, and a Starbucks across the street! The owners are very accomodating, easily reached for questions, and knowledgable Parisians. It was a fine vacation.
“A total complete package.”
Excellent, excellent, and excellent. Our experience at 85 Haussmann, Paris. Marie and Pascal were the best, too good to be true. Before we left, Marie called us at home and was extremely helpful in making us feel at ease about the trip. She e-mailed us a picture of Pascal so we knew who would be meeting us at the airport. Pascal met us at the airport and went with us on the bus to the apartment where Marie was waiting for us. The apartment is clean and very well arranged. It is centrally located on the right bank-close to everything. It has a washer/ dryer, and a dishwasher and oven, and two stove top burners. It has everything you need and two balconies and an elevator. The grocery store is right across the street. The metro and bus stop are also right out the door. Marie supplies you with an international phone to call the USA or Canada at no cost to you, and also supplies you a cell phone which we found very useful when we needed advise during our stay-we just called Marie or Pascal. The apartment is great. The location is great, and Marie's tours are a must. The only way to see Paris-a personal guide was wonderful. There is no need to book any other tours. Hers are comprehensive, informative, and lots of fun. We did five of her tours and they were terrific. This is the only place to stay in Paris.
“Perfect location, fantastic host”
We stayed at the apartment with two balconies in early June it has high quality furnishings and is pristine clean. The balconies are great for looking at the passerby's and soaking up the spirit of Paris. Marie had taken great pains to make sure that every detail has been taken care of to make our vacation a success . Please make sure you take at least one of Marie's tours. She is a walking historian of all things Paris. She takes great pride in sharing her city, culture and unique perspective on its history and current events. Marie made our time there truly special. I felt like she was an old friend in just a few short days. She gave excellent advise and took great care to get us to and from the lovely apartment . Our only regret is that we were only in Paris for three days. But we will return and no visit to Paris would be complete without a visit with Marie.
“Wonderful Location; Wonderful Accommodations”
My daughter and I spent seven nights at 85 Boulevard Haussmann and loved every minute of it. From the personalized service of being greeted at their airport, to the comfortable accommodations, to the extra touches such as wifi, free phone to the U.S. and a personal cell phone to use for local calls during our stay. When contractors cut the power to the wifi/phone, Marie and Pascal improvised and made sure that we still had wifi (at their own expense). This was truly appreciated. We loved the two balconies that looked out over the street and the very modern and uncomplicated bathroom fixtures! We have stayed at a hotel in Paris and never was able to figure out the hot/cold water levers! Renting for the week versus paying for a hotel in Paris really saved us a lot of money. We had more room than we would have in a Paris hotel room, and the luxury of the two top floor balconies to sit outside when we wanted to. The apartment is very secure, with codes required to enter the building and the elevator. Can't say enough about how much we enjoyed Marie and Pascal's hospitality during our trip to Paris. Tip -- The Monoprix is only one block away and is a great way to save money on necessities while in Paris. Food/alcohol prices are much lower than other stores. Will definitely stay here again during our next trip to Paris!
“A perfect holiday in Paris!”
This was our second trip to Paris but our first stay at Haussmann 85. We will definitely be back to stay here again on our future trips to Paris. Everything is just perfect in this charming little apartment with a beautiful view from the balconies. It's in a fabulous location close to great restaurants, shopping, and sites. What made our stay even better was the fabulous owners, Marie and Pascal. They do everything to make your stay fabulous from meeting you at the airport to personal tours catered to your interests. We took two personal tours with them on this trip to Giverny and Champagne which were amazing! We have also taken Marie's Chocowalk which was the best foodie/history tour we have ever taken. We are so looking forward to coming back and staying again at Haussmann 85.
