Description
The Area:
Youlgrave is an attractive village at the junction of the rivers Bradford and Lathkill. It is an excellent base for exploring the White Peak area by foot, cycle or car and, for those simply wishing to relax, offers the peace and quiet of the unspoilt English countryside.
There is a Post Office/grocers, a butcher/deli and 3 pubs all serving food.
The pretty market town of Bakewell is a short drive away and there is a regular bus service.
Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are easily accessible and the spa towns of Matlock and Buxton can be reached in about 20 minutes.
It is about one hours drive to Alton Towers.
The Accommodation:
The front door opens into a large kitchen/diner with delightful views from the oak dining table. The floor is tiled wih under floor heating. One door leads to the garden and the other to a utility room with space for coats and where the washing machine and tumble drier are located. Off the utility room is a toilet with handwash basin.
To the left of the front door is the spacious lounge with solid oak flooring and wood burning stove (logs are provided). French doors open to the garden and offer a pleasant view across Bradford dale to the hills opposite.
Along the length of the rear of the house is a glass covered verandah providing a useful area to put on and take off boots and somewhere to enjoy the warm summer rain. There is a delightful garden with lawn, flower beds, patio area and excellent views.
A staircase from the kitchen/diner leads to the first floor landing. To the left at the top of the stairs is a twin bedded room with good, open views. To the right is the master bedroom with double bed, en-suite toilet with hand wash basin and with excellent views from its two windows. Turning back along the landing is the shower room with large 'walk in' shower, wash basin and toilet. The third bedroom, with pitched ceiling and oak beams, has a single bed and a folding bed for use when needed.

“A delightful cottage in a truly beautiful area.”
We loved our holiday at Mosstone in Youlgreave in the beautiful Peak District. The property was spotless on arrival and, having an enclosed garden, was perfect for our three dogs. The very best days of our holiday were spent packing up a picnic and walking out of the front door and on to the many footpaths in the area. We were incredibly lucky to have a full week of perfect weather and this suited our walking plans. Youlgreave village had several shops which was convenient and we were made to feel very welcome by the locals. Peter, the property owner, checked that we had all we needed in the cottage and gave us great tips on local walks.
