Description

For our guests' safety at this time, we have additional cleaning and sanitation in place at the cottage between stays. All touch surfaces are sanitised between guests and laundry is washed on 60+ with additional laundry antibacterial liquid added. We have had to remove the kitchen items such as oil, herbs etc. We used to leave a Welcome Pack but now ask guests if they want this.

Copperfield is a detached, single storey, two bedroomed whitewashed cottage in the quiet conservation area of this lovely village. Much of the cottage has been renovated recently and is warm, inviting and very comfortable. It has a large well fitted kitchen and large, cosy sitting room with a dining area. The cottage has two bedrooms one with twin beds, the other has a king size double. All are new and with memory foam mattresses, sheets are cotton, the pillows are feather. All linen and towels are supplied. The cottage has its own private, two level garden with a brick BBQ and outside furniture. French windows open onto the patio and garden. There is off road parking for one car. It is also possible to park on the quiet, no through-road outside.

The village has it's own hotel with bar and restaurant as well as a local grocery shop and newsagent, both are a short (2 minute) stroll away. There are also other restaurants within a 20 min walk and many more within a short drive.

There are beautiful sandy beaches within easy reach both by car and on foot. There are also many delightful walks both on coastal paths and through the countryside. Cyclists are also catered for with over 300 miles of dedicated cycle paths. Children with love the beaches and the huge range of activities for them within easy reach of the cottage.

For golfers there are over 40 golf courses within The Kingdom of Fife from the world famous courses at St Andrews to the Oldest Ladies Course in the World just one mile away in Lundin Links. Lundin Links also boasts the Lundin Golf Course which is used for qualifying rounds for The Open Golf Championships.

Copperfield is close to many historic places and is in the East Neuk of Fife, an area renowned for its quaint fishing villages. We are lucky to be only 10 miles from St Andrews as well as having good road connections to Edinburgh, Perth, Stirling and even Glasgow.

“An amazing cottage in beautiful surroundings”

A wonderful place in an ideal location for exploring with great walks for those with dogs and nearby beach. The cottage is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need and was so cozy and relaxing. Would love to re-visit in the warmer months so we can take advantage of the BBQ and garden. Thank you Antonia for the lovely welcome gifts which was very much appreciated.

“Home from home”

I booked Copperfield for my 11 year old son and 11 year old niece, my dog and myself for a weeks holiday in what turned out to be a very sunny July! Antonia was a pleasure to deal with. The location was perfect. I’m quite familiar with the East Neuk - the location was perfect to allow us to nip to our various hot spots! I adored the church bells ringing on the hour. The garden is stunning. We were in wet suits for most of the week so I was delighted to see there was a hose and we could just hang the wet suits on the line and hose them down each day. The kitchen was super well stocked. I ordered a Tesco delivery to arrive an hour after we did so I was able to just pop all the food away and not have to get to any local shops. The cleanliness of the cottage was super - this is always great but especially during a pandemic! I would most definitely return here.

“Lovely cottage”

We had a really lovely stay at this cottage. On arrival there was a welcome pack to start you off (understandably due to Covid this has to be requested). The cottage was clean and welcoming and just like the website pictures. Garden is a wee suntrap if you get the weather, and fully enclosed for the dog. Beds very clean and comfy mattresses, bathroom spotless too. There was nothing I would have needed for our stay that this wee cottage didn't provide right down to dog bowls if you didn't bring your own. Good communication from the lovely owner Antonia and her brother Paul who texts to check all is well and you don't need anything. No hesitation in recommending.

“Relaxing, beautiful, dog friendly”

We’ve just spent a fabulous week at this cottage and we weren’t ready to leave once our stay was up. We would come again.The cottage and the stay in Upper Largo was just what we needed. The bed was really comfy and we slept well every night as it was so peaceful. Opening the window at night for ventilation but ensuring we remained secure due to it being a single level cottage was a challenge though. The bathroom looked new. There was plenty of hot water and the underfloor heating added that extra touch. The Scottish weather was kind to us, with 3 days of temperatures being at 21 degrees and with rain only on two occasions and that was at night. It did go cool in the evenings and we were grateful for the heating. We discovered Apple TV in the middle of the week which gave us a greater choice of programmes to watch. The garden was lovely and we spent 2 lovely hot afternoons relaxing there. There is a parking spot for one car directly behind the cottage but within the garden with a pull to canvas screen. The church next door did have bells that tolled on the hour but they were quiet bells and never disturbed us. The kitchen was well stocked with wine glasses, plates, cutlery etc. Less than a minutes walk up the road there is a cricket pitch with views of the coast where we walked our dog in the evening. The beach is only a kilometre away down a tidy tree lined path. There is also a nice walk in ‘Kiel’s Den’ which is in walking distance from the cottage. There are no coffee shops in Lower Largo. A coffee van comes on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday and can be found in the car park opposite the beach. There are only 2 pubs and a small convenience store called Andy’s. St Andrew’s is only 10 miles away where you will find lots of free car parking close to the golf course but opposite the beach. Just watch out for the seagulls as they like to pinch your lunch!
