Response from the manager The building is located in a quiet area where there are no bars nor discos, only the river opposite and shops underneath, which they are closed by 20 hours. The closest bar is 2 blocks away and it is not a music bar but a cafeteria style. The neighbours within the building are San Sebastian citizens and we know most of them. They are working people who, we very much doubt, will organise wild parties. Our office works 24 hours a day 7 days a week, in case something is wrong and we can help our guests at once. If perhaps you would have contacted us during your stay we could have checked what the problem was. Finally, we would like to say that we have two more vacation rental apartments in the same building and both were rented on the same dates without any problems at all. We would very much appreciate it if you could contact us directly and let us know what the exact problem was. This way we may perhaps address the issue in the best possible manner. How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If the property manager agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
