Description from owner
Description
Situated in the foothills of the French Pyrenees, Eus is a medieval village with the envious record of being one of the designated “Plus Beaux Villages De France” and also the sunniest village in France. Houses cascade down the steep cobbled traffic free streets with a backdrop of the magnificent Pic Canigou, snow-capped in winter. Views over the Tet valley full of peach, nectarine and olive groves lead the eye in an easterly direction to the coast at Perpignan and to the west towards Andorra.
Les Cortalets is a tastefully furnished property reflecting the Catalan character of the village and is constructed in traditional style with local stone walls and exposed beams.
To reflect the hillside position, the house uses three floors and comprises , at the entrance level,of a spacious lounge with dining area and recently installed modern kitchen with full oven, ceramic hob ,spacious fridge and integrated freezer. This opens out onto the south facing enclosed terrace, with views across the valley towards Pic Canigou.
From the lounge a short staircase leads up into a cosy twin bedded mezzanine room with beautiful views across the village rooftops towards the hills.
Short steps lead down to the lower landing, bathroom and double bedroom with ensuite wc and washbasin.
Sun loungers, terrace dining table and chairs, barbeque and parasol are provided .
The property is very well equipped for four people and with linen and towels provided free of charge. All utility costs are included including the WiFi and Internet connection.
There is a television, DVD and CD player and good library.
Free Parking is available around the village including a small non allocated space close to the property.
The village has a Bistro, Village Hall with Bar and Boule area, Walking trails and Museum dedicated to local traditions.
The magnificent 18thchurch St,Vincent crowns the village and has an altar piece designed and hand carved by Paul Sunyer.

“Visiting Eus”
Great place for exploring medieval villages tucked away in the Pyrénées oriental. The little yellow train journey was very picturesque.
