Description

Beautiful coastal contemporary log home with 650 feet of shoreline located on the Schoodic Peninsula in Gouldsboro, ME. Serene and private setting on 12.5 acres this property beckons those who enjoy magnificent waterfront views and the scenic beauty of Downeast Maine's pink granite shoreline. Marine life such as seals, porpoises and otters frolic in the bay as you enjoy your morning coffee from our adirondak chairs on the shoreline, or atop the pink granite nubble.

Sited to capture dramatic views from every room, the open concept kitchen opens to 2 large enclosed sun porches with lots of glass. One porch is perfect for family time with its large picnic table lending itself to games, craft projects or meal time. The other invites you to relax in our rocking chairs while gazing out over the water and sunlit clearings.

The master bedroom has a king sized bed and is on the first floor. A jacuzzi and shower are en-suite. Upstairs is a large loft with a queen sleeper sofa, library and sitting area offering a gorgeous view of the water. Beyond the loft are 2 bedrooms, one with 2 twin beds that can be made into a king and another bedroom (new 2017) with a queen bed.. A full bath (completely renovated 2017) is also upstairs. Downstairs has a large living area with another sleeper sofa, a dining area, wood stove, half bath and laundry room with a washer and dryer. Central air-conditioning added 2019!

Families as well as couples will enjoy exploring the expansive rocky shoreline and beach area. You can launch your kayak or canoe from either of our two coves on the property. 12 foot tides offer dramatically different views of the coastline and coves throughout the day and night and provide an array of activities that can be done at different tide levels. There is also a very large clearing which provides plenty of room for lawn games and gatherings.

You don't want to miss Acadia National Park on the Schoodic Peninsula! It is a short drive, uncrowded, and offers spectacular views, wild life watching, cycling and hiking. Prospect Harbor, Winter Harbor and the quaint lobster fishing village of Corea, all on the Schoodic Peninsula, are a 10-15 minute drive. Bar Harbor is approximately a 50 minute drive from Gouldsboro, making it an easy day trip to Acadia National Park or shops and dining. Catch the ferry in Winter Harbor to take you to Bar Harbor during the season.

“WOW, amazing scenery”

Family of 5 loved vacationing in Maine. We spent most days driving to Bar Harbor, but loved coming back to the quiet, secluded house. Had everything we could need and then some. Very comfortable beds, beautiful view of the water, and kids loved the nightly fires to roast marshmallows.

“Great location to explore Downeast Maine”

This home was perfect from the location to the views. We felt we were the only ones on the bay, but close enough to local restaurants and attractions. We were only two hours away from Eastport (Ray's Mustard Mill) and Lubec (gateway to Campobello Island) and one hour away from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Some of our group just stayed at the house all day to relax and take in the views. Just 15 minutes away you can also enjoy a quieter side of Acadia at the Schoodic peninsula. Since we were there during the full moon, we made many a late night run to Schoodic Point - gorgeous! The owner (Susan P.) was very responsive to my call the first day when I couldn't find the towels (they were hidden in plain sight). I hope in the future that information is given about recycling. There is a recycle bin, but we did not know when it should placed on the curb until it was too late.
