“Awesome Mountain Vacation”

Reviewed 24 Jun 2015

We recently took a long weekend vacation in the beautiful Smoky Mountains. There were 24 of us, from infants all the way to grandparents, and we all had a wonderful time. The Great Alpine Lodge, more than accommodated our group. The game room was loads of fun for the kids and the adults (OMG, Ms. Pac Man, Donkey Kong, and every game you can think of from the 80's). The large tables in the dining area provided able space for card games and dominoes. The kitchen is spacious and one of my best memories was watching all the men in the kitchen making breakfast. We also enjoyed sitting out on the decks and looking out at views that can only be described as spectacular. You are nestled up on the side of a mountain, it's quiet and peaceful, but within 15 minutes or so you can be in the crazy hustle and bustle of downtown Gatlinburg. The cabin meet or exceeded all my expectations and contributed to a wonderful vacation. I don't like going to the same vacation spot twice, but I would actually consider visiting Gatlinburg again and staying at the Great Alpine Lodge.

“Fabulous vacation home for family”

It is a magnificent view of the Smokey Mountains from this spacious and welcoming cabin! The cabin is stunning; pictures do not do it justice. The floorplan is comfortable and yet the bedrooms are laid out to provide privacy. Dining is a breeze for large groups with a well-apportioned kitchen and large dining tables. We spent lots of time on the porch, rocking and talking and looking at the mountains. This was a place we plan to visit again. For larger families or extended families such as ours, I'd recommend LaConte View as top of the line! On a scale of 1 to 5, this gets a 5+ everytime.

“Great View, literally”

My family spent two nights with my three friends' families for our farewell trip. We enjoyed BBQ at the deck with viewing amazingly beautiful mountains. Kids loved playing video games, air-hockey, and billiards. Wives loved chatting while taking Jacuzzi bath. Husbands enjoyed playing golf, where it took only a 5 minutes drive. All facilities, including beds' linen, towel, and utensils, are very clean and organized (I think most of utensil are brand new. At least, they are better than that of my house). If we should not have to leave the US in April, definitely we will stay the lodge again.
