Description

We have only recently completed a major refurbishment of our pool area by extending the deck area, replacing all floor tiles with some exclusively looking ones and also to make it safer for bathers, installed both floor and wall exclusive lighting, brought in some beautiful garden furniture, and added more trees to give it an even more tropical feel and look. But that's just the small part about it all. As part of this refurbishment project, we also embarked on an innovative and unique project with the installation of a retractable cover which covers not only the pool but also 3/4 of the pool deck area as well, with all-glass doors enclosing it completely, converting it into a beautiful oasis. The pool is also heated in autumn, winter and early spring (and we'll make sure it's a comfortable temperature even during your stay to around 28 degrees minimum), and so this retractable cover will ensure that you will be able to enjoy the pool area despite whatever the weather is like outside.

The only time that the weather in Malta is guaranteed not to rain is July because we have had the sporadic rains also in June and August, and then the water starts getting cold in September, and so we are looking at this as a big investment for the enjoyment of our guests. The pool is also supplied with both a dedicated water heating system and now also with a heat pump, guaranteeing that this is comfortable to use all year round, practically transforming the whole area into an oasis within itself, something that we can guarantee is not offered elsewhere on the island.

A tranquil villa apartment with all amenities in this exclusive part of Malta (pool, jacuzzi, barbecue, sun deck area, fish ponds, gazebos). Quiet and peaceful yet only minutes away from the entertainment hub of Paceville and the popular St. Julians Bay. Property also enjoys the use of a large swimming pool (41 sq. m), sunbeds, deckchairs, hammock for a couple, 3 seater hammock swing, rocking bench, 3 large umbrellas, gazebo seating for 8, barbecue area with its own fridge and kitchen facilities, shower and wc facilities by pool area. Access to pool area is via wooden bridge over large cascading koy fish pond. The dedicated solar heating system for the pool allows use of the pool from April to October. A further gazebo with vine tree is adjacent to a smaller water turtle pond. Very romantic setting in this hilltop area with extensive views of Malta, where the tropical garden and the cascading waters from the fish ponds continue to add to the serenity that the whole place seems to create.

The romantic setting and spacious kitchen/sitting/dining area probably make this apartment as the most ideal for a couple.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all amenities and the pine kitchen furniture blends well with the cane kitchen table, chairs and sofas. Adjacent to this is the short but wide corridor which houses the desk area.

Opposite the corridor is the large bathroom (with bath, not shower) which also encompasses the washing machine and tumble drier. The bedroom is adjacent to the bathroom at the end of the short corridor.

This apartment can also connected to apartment 3 via two communal doors (to ensure the privacy of both apartments if these are rented out separately) should the party be larger than 2 (up to a maximum of 6 persons). There is a large swimming pool (41 sq m), sunbeds, deckchairs, hammock for a couple, 3 seater hammock swing, rocking bench, large umbrellas, gazebo seating for 8, barbecue area with its own fridge and kitchen facilities, shower and wc facilities by pool area. Access to pool area is via wooden bridge over large cascading koy fish pond.

A further gazebo with vine tree is adjacent to a smaller water turtle pond. Very romantic setting in this hilltop area with extensive views of Malta and a breeze that comes from the close coastal shores, transforming the tropical torch lit garden into a place of its own, where cascading waters from the fish ponds continue to add to the serenity that the whole place seems to create.

This apartment also enjoys its own private front patio with garden furniture. Our garden, although small, is very mature and extremely well kept, providing a tranquil atmosphere, also helped by the sound of the cascading waters in the background.

Our own pets, (cats and dogs), other than the koy fish and turtles already mentioned, also have their own separate dens, and are well kept, pampered and cared for.

The feeling is mutual, we too gained friends, as we do with most of the people staying with us, particularly at this location as we get to see them more often than we do others in our apartments at Sliema, St. Julians or St. Paul's Bay. We have been lucky to also follow up on these guests' stay with guests who also stayed with us for yet another month, who were also very sweet so we have kept the cordiality going; we're thinking of adopting you all and making you our permanent neighbours. Toby is now also joining in in greeting our guests, always happy and playful with a few extra tricks up his sleeve (sorry, furry paw), participating in everything we do - a real show-off. It will be a real treat to hear from you again, and should you again visit Malta we'd certainly want to see you. Drinks are on us!!! Response from the owner We thank these guests for having stayed with us even if only for 4 nights and for their positive comments about us. The price is indeed cheap and we try to keep it competetive for all our guests, year round. In answer to the negative comments, we are sorry that these guests found that the dog and cats disturbed them. The guests also mentioned that the apartment is located in a village (actually it is a hamlet) in an area away from shops, etc. We are sorry that the guests may have not read the full advert because it is mentioned that we do have cats and dogs (actually we now only have one), and that we are located in a serene and quiet area but still close enough to St. Julians. Our cleaners are present everyday and their first activity in the morning is to clean the gardens so we cannot see how these had been left in a mess. In addition, seeing that the guests had a small child, the dog was kept in its pen for the whole period and only taken out by us on a leash (others guests actually love to play with the dog and also take it out for walks, but we understand that not everyone is the same). There are infact 3 windows in the apartment (a large one in the kitchen/lounge area, a small one in the bedroom, and a smaller one in the bathroom for ventilation). In addition, the window in the kitchen/lounge area faces south, meaning that it receives direct sunlight for most of the day, especially with the curtains fully drawn. We are a family of only 3 people who actually live above the apartment. We are normally very quiet and unintrusive (as other reviews will show) and quite honestly had just returned from a long flight (from San Francisco) just a few hours earlier to their arrival so we were sleeping most of the time and cannot understand the noise we could have caused. Still, we regret any inconvenience these guests experienced as it is always our priority to make sure that our guests are well taken care of. We had asked the guests the time of their departure from the apartment, mainly because we had another arrival on the same day. The question was not asked so as to quickly have the apartment vacated but rather because we would have provided these guests with another apartment, albeit smaller, where they could shower and rest for the rest of the day if these had a late night flight back home. As our check-out time is at 11:00 am, we normally provide this service whenever possible. Perhaps one other plus that the guests failed to mention was the personal attention we greeted them with. On their arrival, having gotten lost in the streets leading to the apartment (the address and directions had been provided to them previously), my husband personally went out searching for them at 01:30am all over the hamlet, well knowing that they also had a child with them, and once located, then carried most of the luggage for them to the apartment so that they could tend to their child. Once inside, we provided them with water, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread, biscuits, cheese, ham, crackers, a bottle of wine, etc. to make sure that these would not sleep hungry. Considering the cheap price the guests also mentioned in their review and the service provided, it was perhaps not such a bad deal after all. Admittedly, we are not 5-star, but neither is our price, and with all due respect, no 5-star accommodation would have provided any of their guests with the service mentioned above.
