Just 90 minutes from Atlanta is a place of exceptional natural beauty offering peace & quiet plus championship trout fishing but close enough to town & all the other activities.

The area of Blue Ridge, GA has enough outdoor activities to keep anyone busy and offers upscale dining & shopping, plus many wineries and micro breweries. Mountains, lakes, streams, rafting, tubing, fishing, hiking, and shopping, this area has it all & is very accessible from both Atlanta & Chattanooga.

Wildlife is abundant such as deer, raccoons & birds. The master bedroom/bath (king bed) is on the main level for easy access while the loft has 2 queen beds. There are easy steps down to the creek for fishing & wading. Tube down Fightingtown Creek, white water raft the famous Ocoee River, or canoe the Toccoa River, they are all so close.

The Ocoee Whitewater Center, site of the 1996 Olympics Whitewater Competition, is just 25 minutes away.

If you like to fish, this is the place. We stock the river with Trout every season and they just keep getting bigger. Any of the photos of fish are truly caught in the river that runs in front of the cabin. We ask that you kindfully respect our catch and release, barbless hook policy. Everybody has a chance to catch big fish and let them go for another day! We have a grill for your burgers and hot dogs.

Quiet & peaceful, our cabin is in a small gated community but close to shopping, grocery stores, hiking trails, dining, hospital, etc.


We have a king bed in the Master and 2 queen beds on the second floor.

Response from the owner Hi Santo Domingo, Sorry to hear you had a 2-star time at our cabin. Our photos are posted for renters convenience to know exactly what they are getting. Outside photos and all. As for the inability to partake in the fire pit or grilling outside is an anomaly and due to the terrible drought (3 months) we were experiencing at the time, Gatlinburg, TN took the brunt of the 30 large wild fires that destroyed 1,600 homes/buidings, took the lives of 14 people and injured 134. It was way to dangerous for Blue Ridge and surrounding county’s to allow any burning. We are aware that you could have stayed home but your opinion about the legal need to prevent any further fires, shouldn’t reflect on a typical stay at River Mist Cabin. As for any smell, there is no “Grease Trap” out there, not sure what you’re trying to say, but no other guest has ever said anything remotely like that -- so I hope most potential guest will disregard your comment -- maybe it was smoke from the wildfires up in Tenn.. We have 30+ 5-star reviews on FlipKey’s competitors site which also receives reviews. It’s rare for us to see any doggie droppings on the property -- not saying it’s not possible, but it’s not common at all. The cleaning fee’s are standard fee’s, we don’t ask that you “wash everything”, we do ask that you put your dirty dishes in the washer and run it before you leave. All the details of what to expect are provided for you via email and are automatically sent to you at booking online so you know what to expect. You are right about Kim’s impeccable ability to make sure our guests are happy and receiving a lot of attention if needed. The light bulbs left on the porch for you was not meant for you to install, it was that you weren’t there at the time Kim drove by to deliver them. We have a you neighboring boy who Kim would have asked to come over to install if you would have only let her know you were back from your outing. Thanks for letting us know what concerned you about your stay with us. We welcome you back (hopefully they’ll never be a drought so long).
