Description

Badgers Den is our beautiful cottage for 2, as you walk through the front door it has a very bright and welcoming feel, this open plan cottage ia in a converted farm building is to a very high standard with attention to detail throughout.

From the front door there is uninterrupted views overlooking our own Birdwatching tarn, our fields and skiddaw & local hills.

The cottage sleeps two people in zip and link beds so can be set up as a king size bed or twin beds suiting couples or friends. There is a large wet room with shower, WC and Basin which has underfloor heating and a heated towel rail.

The seating area has 2 comfy chairs for relaxing and watching TV (built in DVD player and free view channels), Dining area with solid wood table and 4 leather chairs and galley style kitchen, the kitchen has everything you would expect and more, dishwasher, electric oven and hob, microwave, Dolce Gusto coffee machine, and drawers full of utensils.

Our cottages are very pet friendly, there are lots of local walks, with a guide book written by a local footpath group available in the cottage, if you wish to use there is a dog kennel with run outside, hot and cold outside doggie shower, ample freezer storage for raw feeders, feed and water bowls available.

We offer free Wi-Fi connection throughout the whole cottage, laundry room and games room.

The property also has a cupboard with ironing facilities, boot racks, hoover etc. This cottage has a shared laundry room with our other cottages which has washing and drying facilities, as well as additional freezer storage and a computer with internet access can also be used here.

In the yard behind this cottage is our games room, offering a pool table, free juke box and darts board on the first floor and a X Box 360, table football and seating area upstairs.

Opposite the laundry room we have a fully enclosed children's play area with a large climbing frame with swings, slide and climbing wall and a large grassed area with football net.

The beautiful market town of Cockermouth is a short 5miles drive from our cottages, here you will find an excellent choice of small independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.

We are now happy to offer all our guests complimentary spa visits to the award winning Armathwaite Hall Hotel & Spa, this includes use of the 16m infinity swimming pool, sauna, steam rooms, sauna, gym and children's pool. You could turn this into a full spa experience by booking a treatment and having some food in the beautiful bistro. (this is not included in the passes but a discount on the price is offered)

We can also offer money off vouchers for shows at the Theatre By The Lake at Keswick, please look at there website to see what is showing during your stay. 

Badgers Den is one of four holiday cottages located on a family run 'working' farm with more than 200 acres of land; the farm is a bird watchers paradise with a twelve man bird watching hide and tarn. We have our own shetland ponies and there are usually sheep or cattle in our fields. We also have a Certificated Camping and Caravan Club site.

“Lakes restbite”

Lovely little cottage warm comfortable very friendly staff at farm would be great with small children as they have goats and parrots but was unsure if you could go and get close to them very good for bird watchers as a hide only downside a little out of the way

How do damage deposits work?
