Description
Our house was originally built in 1942, and in a neighborhood know as the Potter Homes of Oceanside. They were built for our soldiers coming back from World War II.
My husband and I bought the house about 13 years ago. We wanted to keep the charm of the old house, but enlarge the living space. My husband is a General Contractor and took care restoring the home while adding on a large living area inside and out. Our kitchen has been in Dwell Magazine.Beautiful Moldings, hardwood and slate flooring throughout Walking in you the front door you enter a sitting area and dinning room. Very spacious. There are two bedrooms down the hall both with comfortable queen beds and bed linens. Each room opens to the backyard area. As you enter the kitchen, there are granite counter tops, Oceanside Glass tile back splash, a counter that seats 4, a Viking cook-top, double ovens ( one convection) along with a warming draw, plenty counter space and room to entertain. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you will need to have a great dinner party. (the Kitchen was featured in Dwell Magazine) You walk thru the kitchen and step down into the main living area, with leather sectional, built in entertainment center. The living room opens to the outside yard. Our home is on the cusp of Carlsbad, but technically our house is in Oceanside. Address to google: 1749 Alvarado Street, Oceanside 92054
The backyard is shaded by bamboo with lounging chairs for your relaxation. On the patio is very private, with a BBQ (briquets or propane) and a glass dinning table that seats 6. After dinner enjoy a night sitting around the fire pit enjoying your favorite beverage.
We are located off the Coast Highway, with plenty of restaurants and brew pubs within walking distance not to mention the beach access is just a few blocks down the street .
Close to: Lego Land, the Flower Fields, the Wild Animal Park, the Surf Museum among others.
Restaurants and entertainment in walking distance: Beach Break, Urge, The Privateer, The Pour House (live music and bar), Oceanside Surf Bowl (Bowling Alley), along with lots of antique stores and shopping. (yoga studio, acupuncture/ message studio and lots of Coffee shops and eateries
