Description

“CASA VALE DO SOSSEGO” is a Country House located in the small and peaceful village of Santo António, 15km away from Ponta Delgada, offering a magnificent view of the sea and of the natural landscape of the north coast of the island of São Miguel Island at Azores, Portugal.
The Space

On the north coast of the island of São Miguel and inserted into an organic farm, the Quiet Valley House takes us to sensations and experiences of other times. The rural character of the location of Quiet Valley House ally, bucolic characteristics of the house and its proximity to bathing areas make the house the perfect place for a holiday in full contact with nature, where you can reinvigorate yourself. The entire construction of the house is marked by the typical volcanic stone of the Azores, the basalt. The rawness of basalt that takes us to remote stories is contrasted by the comfort that the house provides our guests in all its divisions.
The House consists of 3 floors.
In the entrance floor there is a reception, a common room and a double room with private bath. On the 1st floor there is a double room with private bathroom, the living room and Dining / Breakfast - room, toilet and kitchen. The last floor is a kind of apartment with 3 bedrooms -1 bedroom with double bed and 2 bedrooms with twin beds, served by a shared bathroom.

Guest Access

Provided you rent the whole house, guests will have access to all rooms and the entire surrounding area except an existing T2 Apartment in the garden area.

Interaction with Guests

You may have to interact with other guests / hosts in the garden area of the apartment T2 outside the building. In the main house will be the only guests if you choose to book the all house.

The Neighborhood

On the one hand, we have the picture of the sea and the church tower, dotted by whales and dolphins playing in the distance. On the other hand, we feel the slow bustle of an Azorean village where the House is centered, surrounded of small businesses, local authorities and the people who live their day-to-day.

Getting Around

There is Public transport near the house, especially in connection to Ponta Delgada.
It is advisable however a rental car either due to low frequency of transport or because of the need to move around the island.
You can park near the house free of charge.

Other Things to Note

Facilities - a 5 minute walk our guests have at their disposal:
- A bathing area consisting of a natural swimming pool (with lifeguard in high season) and the harbor of Santo António for fishing.
- A privileged area of diving and deep sea fishing.
- A perfect place for artisanal fishing
- The “Rosário” picnic area, ideal for a meal next to the sea, equipped with grills and overlooking the north coast of the island.
- Grocery stores and other businesses and establishments.

If you want additional service Breakfast, please tell us.
We provide Breakfast with regional products from the Azores at a price of 5 € per person per day..

There is no daily cleaning of the house (unless the kitchen if there is Breakfast). The general house cleaning is also ensured at least 2 times a week.

The change of bed linen and towels occurs usually 1 or 2 times a week (and at least every week or after the departure of guests).
