Description

The property is ideally located for holidays, both walking and exploring the picturesque and varied scenery of the National Park of Abruzzo. In the area there are ancient mountain villages retaining many of their original characteristics and customs. Places such as Roccacasale, Scanno or Cocullo are only a few of them. Close by is the larger town of Sulmona centre of the Italian Confetti industry producing brightly coloured sugared Almonds. The Birthplace of Ovid, Sulmona and the surrounding area was also chosen for the location setting of the recent film "The American" starring George Clooney.

Well equipped Holiday home recenty fully renovated in a small town near Sulmona.

The house is situated in a quiet area of the town, only 5 minutes walk from the town centre, Bus and Rail connections. Pratola Peligna benefits from many independant shops located throughout the town selling a wide range of everyday necessities through to luxury items. There is a good selection of Cafes and bars where one can sit and watch the world go by. A weekly market is held every Friday morning in the centre of town selling fresh fruit and vegetables, Fish, Cheese, Clothes etc. Porchetta the local roast pig is a speciality in the area. Pratola Peligna has the facility of an outdoor pool during the summer within walking distance. There is

a larger Swimming Pool outside Pratola Peligna with a picnic area. Transport required.

There are plenty of attractions in the surrounding area to do and see during your stay.

“A really nice place, but the location is a bit lonely.”

It was a fine house, and a really nice owner.Tthe only thing worth mention is that the house is located in a sort of alley, which is very dark in the evening.

Response from the owner Wir bedauern es sehr dass der Familie Pit H aus Wiesbaden unser Haus und die Umgebung nicht gefallen hat. Unser Haus ist ueber 100 Jahre alt und wurde 2005 voellig renoviert. Der Ort hat sich seinen Charme erhalten und ist nicht sehr touristisch, aber als Ausgangspunkt zum Wandern ideal. Herr Pit hat des oefteren mit meinem Bruder (Eigentuemer) per email Kontakt gepflegt waehrend des Aufenthaltes um von ihm Tips fuers Wandern und andere Dinge zu bekommen. Unsere Freundin welche am Tage der Ankunft leider nicht anwesend war hat sich die Muehe gemacht um die Familie am naechsten Tag zu besuchen, um zu sehen ob alles in Ordnung war und dies wurde ihr bestaetigt. Nie war die Rede davon dass das Haus nicht sauber sei oder irgendwelche andere Probleme waeren. Mein Bruder hat der Familie vor der Ankunft mitgeteilt dass unsere Nachbarin die Fassade, verputzen musste um einen Wasser Eintritt zu verhindern in der Zeit in der die Familie gebucht hatte. Ihm wurde aber bestaetigt dass dies kein Problem waere, da sie ja den ganzen Tag ausser Haus seien. Wir waren deshalb sehr erstaunt, dass sobald die Familie wieder zu Hause war uns mitteilte, dass das Haus sehr schmutzig gewesen sei, und dass der Garten nicht benutzt werden konnte. Wir haben uns noch einmal versichern lassen dass das Haus definitiv geputzt worden war. Wir haben Herrn Pit 30 Euro zurueck erstattet fuer das sogenannte putzen da wir keine unzufriedenen Gaeste moechten.
