“Coziest spot on the mountain!”
Chalet 23 was the perfect place for our group. There is not a better location on the mountain- the cabin is nestled far enough back that you have privacy and can enjoy the gorgeous area, but so easy to get to from both the slopes and the parking lot. Being able to actually ski in and ski out made it so convenient for our group to get in the most possible hours of skiing everyday. Coming back to the chalet at the end of the day and enjoying the fireplace, while still being able to see the slopes from the front porch was the best part of the day. Would recommend this cozy cabin to families, groups up to 8 people, and anyone who appreciates maximizing the ski day and relaxing in a simple, traditional cabin after a long day. John was very attentive and flexible with any questions about the property, as well, and the management was always easily reachable. We will be back!!
“My favorite spot away from home...”
The weekend before Thanksgiving, we spent a glorious three days at this charming, cozy, warm and lovely chalet number 23. The accommodations and enmities were magnificent. The chalet is a two story with a total of three bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The kitchen was fully equipped and complete with every possible utensil you can think of. There was also a washer and dryer and a marvelous collection of Board Games! The Wifi service was very robust much better than most major hotels. There's also HD TV service with an excellent large screen TV. The scenery was so inspiring that we were just in awe with the beautiful snow, trees and nature. You can see the skiers coming down the slopes all day long. I could write much more on how wonderful our stay was however, what put the cherry on the top was the incredible and genuinely warm service we received from the management team of Romey, Dale and Tim. They were the most thoughtful and accommodating folk we have encountered ever on any of our many travels. When we arrived they greeted us like family. It was around 8:30 pm when we arrived, there was a snow storm with temps in the 20s, and Dale helped us with our luggage and drove us up to the Chalet in a Snow Cat. The chalet is just a few yards away but with 12-16 feet of snow a regular vehicle could not pass. Btw - The Snow Cat service is included. Anyhow, this was a memorable mini vacation and we plan to come here from now on. Mammoth is one of our favorite places and we have been coming here for decades, both during the summer and winter seasons. We only wish we had discovered this Chalet long ago.
“Sometimes you have to rave!”
Having traveled extensively, I just want to comment on the wonderful experience we just had in the Steigler Chalet in the Mountain Mountain Chalets. This stay was for my father's 90th birthday...a family reunion. Everything so far surpassed our expectations, from contact with the owner to the on site managers, to the chalet itself. The pictures do not do it justice. Everything is there for you. The place just works, with plenty of space for the 8 of us, to comfortable beds, to wonderful quiet, to a fully stocked kitchen. Truly a valuable place to stay. We will definitely be coming back to Chalet #23. Thanks to Romie, Dale, and Mr. Steigler.
We have been coming to the Chalets for years. The setting is wonderful and gives you that true mountain experience with views of pine trees and the snow-capped mountain. The cabin has lots of room for a family with all the ammeneties including full kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, BBQ, etc. The owner does a great job with upgrades. Romie was wonderful and really took care of us.
“Amazing vacation in woods”
This place is great. It is hard to find a cabin in mammoth, most places are condos, and this one is perfect. You can go hiking right outside of the cabin. There is a beautiful deck to BBQ on and enjoy the scenery. I would recommend this place very highly.
“Wonderful Mountain Getaway”
My family and parents stayed in the Steigler Chalet #23 for 10 days in June. The chalet was in a good location, near the Mammoth Mountain Inn. The chalet was spacious enough for our group of 6 and 2 Golden retrievers. My dogs loved sitting out on the deck watching the chipmucks at play every evening. The beds were comfortable and my boys loved that they had Wifi. Romie, Dale and Kris were very helpful with any problems that came up with the chalet. There was working being done on Chalet #21 during our stay and the power was accidentally turned off, but the managers took care of everything right away. I would recommend this chalet.
" Great location and very comfortable " The living room was very nice with large windows, nice furnishings and a flat screen TV also, a full kitchen to cook and a washer and dryer. Beds had pillow top mattresses which was nice. My family really enjoyed the privacy and being surrounded with all the beautiful pine trees. The location was very serene and we felt like we really got away and were able to relax and enjoy ourselves. Mammoth Mountains main lodge is only a stones throw away so in the evening if you want to eat out or drink it's and easy walk home. We will be back next year !!
