A veritable balcony over the ocean and the village of Ponta do Sol, with outstanding panoramic views, this sun kissed holiday home is set in a tranquil area and is perfect for those seeking peace and privacy.
Most of the holiday time will surely be spent on the front terrace and by the pool, either catching sun, eating alfresco or simply enjoying a drink whilst appreciating the tranquillity and superb views.
The main gate leads down to the garden and front terrace where you will find garden furniture and a hammock to laze away the days - and a built-in barbecue, perfect for eating alfresco. Casa Jardim Mar is surrounded by banana tree plantations.
Very well furnished and comfortable, it has a large open-plan lounge/dining, modern fully equipped kitchen and three bedrooms, in addition to the leisure/games room on the first floor.
As you enter the house, the hall leads to the open plan lounge/dining and onto the modern fully equipped kitchen. The master bedroom (with en-suite) opens up to the terrace and benefits form the great views. The second double and twin bedrooms share a full bathroom.
On the first floor you will find a large leisure room with a second TV and Playstation, sitting area and table games, which leads onto a small balcony with a table and chairs, perfect for a quiet read or cocktail with that outstanding view to the village and to the ocean. An extra bed is available in this area for a 7th person.
NOTES ON ACCOMMODATION
Casa Jardim Mar is great for those seeking an away from it all holiday property, but this means is does not have direct access to the road. From the road, there are 25 steps down to reach a pathway that runs for 65 metres past other houses and banana tree plantations before a further 17 steps down lead to the main gate of the Casa Jardim Mar. It is not suitable for those with walking difficulties. On arrival and departure, help is provided in carrying the luggage down the steps, should you require this.
There is a washing machine in the villa for guests use.
There is free Wi-Fi connection throughout the Villa.
Although not essential, as in most villas, a hire car is recommended.
Ponta do Sol is considered the area of Madeira with the most sun.
On the roundabout of Ponta do Sol (where you have access to the expressway), 1 km from the house, is the closest café, bakery and supermarket. Opposite is a small shopping centre where you can find additional shops and facilities.

Pool heating is optional and costs 130€ per week for a setting of 24ºC, 160€ per week for a setting of 25ºC and 190€ per week for a setting of 26ºC, paid in cash on arrival.
Pool heating should be requested at least one week in advance. Should it be requested within this period or after arrival at the villa, the minimum charge applicable is one week, which is payable from the time the pool heating is turned on.
The town of Ponta do Sol at sea level, less than a kilometre from the roundabout, offers additional restaurants and cafés (and three small hotels), as well as a couple of trendy bars. Ponta do Sol is known as the sunniest place in Madeira, and the whole town front is a rocky beach with access to the sea.
10 minutes by car east is Ribeira Brava, the largest town before Funchal, and that offers another rocky beach and sea access facilities in addition to a large supermarket and more shops, cafés, and restaurants.
10 minutes by car west is the resort of Calheta with its man-made golden beaches, a marina and a further choice of supermarket, restaurants and bars.
The capital, Funchal, is an easy 30 minute drive away on the motorway.
The airport is and easy 40 minute drive away.
There are walks around the hills of Ponta do Sol and easy access to the plateau of Paul da Serra, with its many levada walks, makes this villa perfectly located for walking in Madeira and for enjoying a lovely holiday surrounded by the beautiful Madeira countryside.

“Great location”
We stayed two weeks and enjoyed every monent. The veiw was breathtaking overlooking the ocean and Ponta do Sol. Everything in the house worked very well. We also enjoyed the heated pool very much.

Response from the manager We are sorry you were disturbed by the works carried out by the municipality approximately 400 metres away and by the dock, this was unfortunately due to a rock fall which obliged urgent intervention of the municipality and is one of those unfortunate unforeseen circumstances. The music you heard during your stay was for a folklore festival which is normally very interesting to our visitors. Again it was something that was organised by the municipality in short notice and it is not part of the general festivities, which are organised for next weekend (so long after you left). With regards to the swimming pool, it is very difficult to keep the perfect balance between the required level of chlorine and sudden heat wave. An over chlorinated swimming pool guarantees clear water but not so pleasant to swim in. standard levels of chlorine will quickly reduce in unexpected heat waves, and allow the water to become slightly cloudy. If treated immediately it will return to it´s clear state. Unfortunately you did not advise the owner/manager that this had happened. Had you done so, he would have immediately increased the levels of water treatment and the cloudiness would disappear. However we must express some surprise on the comments you have posted as the owner advised us he has spoken to you on check out, that he had explained these points, and that you had mentioned to him that you understood and everything was all right. We hope this doesn´t spoil the possibility of another holiday in Madeira.
