Description
The villa is the perfect place to spend a holiday immersed in the sweet Tuscan landscape. The villa is located just 500 meters (15 minute walk) from the heart of the historical center of the famous Etruscan town of Cortona, now one of the most beautiful and famous in Italy, and is located in one of the most charming hills of Cortona, from which you can enjoy a wonderful view over the valley and on some of the historical monuments. The property is divided into two adjacent units, both with private entrance from the garden, but is rented exclusively all together for a total of 12 persons.
The villa rises around an old farmhouse dating back to the 17th Century, lovingly restored and decorated by the owners who have kept the ancient stone structure of the house intact and have used materials and fine furnishings to equip the property with all modern comforts but at the same time preserve the historicity and elegance of the villa.
The villa has a beautifully landscaped garden equipped with garden furniture and tables to enjoy al fresco dining; the pool is located a few meters from the house, down beautiful stone steps which lead you onto a natural terrace where the swimming pool lies perfectly exposed to the sun and in a panoramic position.
Swimming pool (4 x 8 m, minimum depth 1,20 m, maximum depth 1.80 mt. Open from May 4th to September 15th ), lies perfectly exposed to the sun and in a panoramic position, equipped with deck chairs, umbrellas and solar shower. The pool has a water electrolysis treatment system.
Outside there is also a barbecue, a pizza oven and a free private parking.
The interiors of Villa Santa Maria are furnished with antiques, rich in history and beauty. Terracotta floors and ceilings with exposed wooden beams are the setting for a traditional and elegant Tuscan style.
The first entrance takes us inside the first unit that develops on the ground floor and consists of a large living room (with adjoining dining room) complete with stone fireplace and satellite TV, a kitchenette and two large double bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms (one with shower and one with bathtub) and with direct access to the front garden.
On the second floor of this unit you will find the home of the concierge, whose access is totally independent and separated from the rest of the villa where you will stay.
The second unit is a continuation of the first, and you can always access it from the garden that will take you inside a large lounge complete with living room, dining table and stone fireplace.
On this floor, you will find a small sitting area and a large marble kitchen fully equipped and with direct access to the garden.
This ground floor also has a bathroom with toilet.
On the second floor you will find a second very large living room with stone fireplace, a small study, four large double rooms and three bathrooms (two private en-suite bathrooms with shower and one with both shower and bathtub).
Villa Santa Maria offers free wi-fi and window screens on doors and windows.
